The Communicative Language Teaching is a method that focuses on the learning of language skills through communication. Instead of focusing on grammar and accuracy it instead places emphasis on meaning and establishing connections that can create conversations between classmates. The method hopes to provide learners with a chance to experiment using the language and in time develop accuracy and fluency in the new language. The method usually breaks down different topics into units. An example of this may be learning different locations, times, or objects. The learners take on a new role of being active in their learning and working together to interact and contribute to classroom participation. They develop a greater responsibility in their learning and must be comfortable interacting with their peers. (pg 98) The teacher must determine the language needs of the class and organize activities that will lead to conversations in the classroom. The teacher should also provide materials as well as observing and giving feedback to the students. Instructional material also plays a role in CLT. Textbooks, tasked based activities (games,, cue cards, role- play materials) as well as visuals make a difference in the classroom. In the mini-lessons students will learn vocabulary and activities that are used during the daytime and the night time. The materials will include three pictures on a powerpoint presentation. The learners will actively share their opinions and thoughts when looking at the pictures as well as words and phrases that correlate with the visuals. The students will begin by looking at two pictures in order to start a conversation.One will display a visual of daytime while the other willl show a nighttime scene. The students will have a few minutes to look at each picture and then talk about different things they see in each picture. They will write different words that deal with the pictures. Then the two pictures will be side by side in which the students will compare the two pictures. Then the teacher will ask a set of a questions such as, What are some phrases you say in the daytime? What are some phrases you say in the night time? What are some activities/events that is done during their day? What about at night? Then students will discuss in groups their favorite things to do in the day and night time and share with the class and teacher. Then students will work in their groups to form sentences about day and night activities. There are vast communication differences between males and females, which makes it difficult for the two sexes to maintain stable and functional relationships with each other. Areas in which these problems occur include children’s development, friendships, romantic relationships, and work environments. If these communication problems continue to persist in heterosexual relationships, our nations heterosexual divorce rates may rise well over 50% in the next few decades.
In our health care settings communication plays a major role; to successfully take care of our patient’s needs. There are two types of communication which are verbal or non-verbal communication. However, there are different levels of communication in the health care settings, which can be interpersonal communication between a nurse and a patient and group communication such as shift handover. The main idea in this essay is to discuss, how communication is effective in the health care settings.
In Hall’s article, “Context and Meaning” it is revealed to us the importance in cross cultural communication. Context can be defined as the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed. Cross cultural communication is important because it creates diversity and understanding between the workers. In this essay the reader is provided with sufficient evidence to identify the staging of context with such importance to cross culture communication, teach about culture and joint cooperatives, and business transaction, and help create a diverse workforce.
1) What is the place of grammar in language teaching? How necessary is it for the teacher to have knowledge of both English Grammar and the grammar of the students’ language or languages?
The purpose of this paper is not to teach you, or to show you how interpersonal communication is essential to everyday life at home or work. But, I am going to do my best to at least show you how essential communication skills are in all areas of life by using me as the example. My plan is to focus on some of the elements of interpersonal communication that we have been touching on this semester. While reading our Interpersonal Communications Book, three goals kept being highlighted that I personally wanted to accomplish by the end of course. I’m sure that by now have noticed that I keep referring to my topics as goals. The reason why I’m doing so is because I’m still on that learning curve…an ongoing process. If can recall back to all of our assignment in this course they all bring one collective point. That point is that, Interpersonal communication is an essential skill in everything that we do in life.

No matter what teaching strategies or methods a teacher uses, it is necessary to give directions, explain activities and check students’ understanding (Richards & Schimdt, 1985). This clearly emphasizes the importance of teacher talk in language classrooms. Walsh (2011) claimed that teacher talk is more important in language classroom than any other classroom since in this context the language being used by teacher is not only the means of acquiring new knowledge; it is also the goal of the study.

Drawing heavily on the work of developmental psychologists Jean Piaget and Lev Vygotsky advocates of Cooperative Language Learning maintain that social interaction plays a central role in language learning (Richards, 194). Cooperative Language learning is defined as students spending most of their time w2orking in small groups of up to 6 students. The students are divided up into small groups and learning takes place through peer teaching, joint problem solving, brainstorming, and varied interpersonal communication and individual study monitored by peers. Learning is structured so that the group is motivated to ensure that their peers have mastered the material or achieved the instructional goal so that a process of cooperation is generated (Finchpark).
Coming from a Spanish speaking household having to learn a new language can always be difficult. While, I was a child learning a second language was difficult. It was difficult for me to put words to use in the correct way. And use terms that make sense with one another term. It was difficult for me because some Spanish words sound the same as English words, and while learning I wanted to translate everything the way I say it in Spanish to English. For example, in Spanish “helo” means ice, but if you say it out loud it sounds like “yellow”. Little things like that will be a big issue to me.
