The Wonderful Pistachios commercial, Dominatrix, starts off in a wide shot bright white room with a black chair. A dominatrix wearing a leather black and green suit walks into the room, she has a single pistachio in her hand and places it down on the chair, she backs away and with her whip cracks the pistachio open. While she's doing that a male voice over says "Dominatrix do it ... on command". Towards the end of the commercial a happy jingle is played while the male voice over says "Wonderful pistachios, get cracking".
The white room is perfect for this commercial because there's nothing to distract the main idea. The voice over is timed perfectly because it allows the audience to hear the dominatrix come in, hear her set the pistachio

As soon as the commercial starts you can hear the dominatrix heels. Another big sound effect is when she sits the pistachio down the chair, the sound is so clear that you can hear an echo coming from the pistachio. The dominatrix most important and notable accessory in this commercial is her long black whip. You can hear the loud whip when she uses it on the pistachio. Not only can you …show more content…
The dominatrix outfit is only black and bright green. Those are the main colors that the package for Wonderful Pistachio uses. Black reappears again this time and it's the chair that's black. It's important that the chair is black because it goes with the color scheme that is being used. It would have been odd if the chair wasn't black or even bright green. Let's say if the chair was red, wouldn't some of the audience think that was peculiar? That the red chair is a hidden message of some sorts? The main and most obvious color being used is white. White is a fantastic color to use in this commercial because it doesn't take away from the plot. It helps keep the focus on what is going on between the dominatrix and the pistachio. Not only does the color white appears during the beginning of the commercial, it stays to the end.
Alongside of the pistachio, the dominatrix is the greatest nonverbal element. Even though she doesn't speak her actions are loud. When she walks into the room, you know she's determined to do whatever she needs to crack open the pistachio. Not only are her actions loud but her outfit is too. To many people it's obvious what she is by what she is wearing. The character has on a daring outfit that consists of a black collar, black and green leather PVC corset, underwear, leather thigh high boots, and her trusty whip. The pistachio is the
Attention: The commercial grabs the viewers’ attention because the viewer will want to know which product works faster to remove unwanted stains. It also uses music and a little humor.
“For the first time in the history of the world, every human being is now subjected to contact with dangerous chemicals, from the moment of conception until death.” Why do people consciously consume unhealthy, processed foods which big corporations in America distribute? These foods can lead to potentially harmful affects on the human body. So why are these risky products sold and consumed? The main reasons are because processed foods taste great and companies make large profits from these unwholesome products. General Mills is the 6th largest food company in the world, and uses genetically modified ingredients, preservatives, and artificial flavors in their products. The product that will be analyzed will be the tasty, mouthwatering breakfast favorite, Reese’s Puffs.
This commercial has an upbeat feel to it while simultaneously advertising its product effectively. The commercial tries to cover a wide range of audiences. It tries on emotional levels to connect with multiple individual and does a very good job in portraying examples in their situation. This commercial definitely advertises its product effectively. It was timed well, and it used quality examples of rhetorical analysis throughout the entire
The blues and whites catches a consumer’s eye and brings out the other elements of the advertisement. This is in stark contrast with the Sheba advertisement. Their advertisement’s color did not go well together and did not seem to fit. Also, the Fancy Feast advertisement had good texture, which helped catch the eye of consumers. The Sheba advertisement did not have much texture and was very bland.
Advertisements are all over the place. Whether they are on TV, radio, or in a magazine, there is no way that you can escape them. They all have their target audience who they have specifically designed the ad for. And of course they are selling their product. This is a multi billion dollar industry and the advertiser’s study all the ways that they can attract the person’s attention. One way that is used the most and is in some ways very controversial is use of sex to sell products. For me to analyze this advertisement I used the rhetorical triangle, as well as ethos, pathos, and logos.
“If you live in a free market and a free society, shouldn’t you have the right to know what you’re buying? It’s shocking that we don’t and it’s shocking how much is kept from us” (Kenner). For years, the American public has been in the dark about the conditions under which the meat on their plate was produced. The movie, Food Inc. uncovers the harsh truths about the food industry. This shows that muckraking is still an effective means of creating change as shown by Robert Kenner’s movie, Food Inc. and the reforms to the food industry that followed its release.
Other aspects strengthen the advertisement design's sexual appeal. The foreground woman's strapless swimming suit, highlighted in red, is the most notable example. Her chest prominently resides above horizontal boxes in both th...
The bold print also indicates for the woman to remove her clothes, or for the viewer to do so. Everything is very clean, clear, and appealing to the eye. There is a highlight around the woman’s body leaving her look like she’s glowing. The weight scale is indicating that the woman has lost weight and she is shocked by how much she weighs now. The company displays this petite woman which advertises, if you drink their product then the consumers can look like her. This add is posing as a sex symbol for men and is showing younger women that they should look like this woman in the ad. This ad is also indicating that only ‘sexy’ and ‘healthy’ woman can produce healthier milk.
In conclusion the ad shows its appeal to logos, pathos, and ethos by having a woman on it and having her state her opinion. By having the character state her opinion it will make people who see this ad think about the issue at hand. In addition to that the ad uses a simple but effective way to capture the audience’s attention. It captures attention by using a well-known character, a short but effecting statement, and a simple color scheme to draw attention. Doing so helps grab the reader and then further deliver the message of pro-choice and that it’s a woman’s choice to do with her body as she pleases.

The advert is for a new product called ‘WOMAN’ that they are adding to their line of fragrances. The first thing that is noticed about this advert is the colour. It is very contrasting with the black and white, and gives a big impact to the audience. The white usually signifies innocence but with the black background it’s suggesting hidden depths, like a wild side that you could have. The model’s look is very confident, like she can get
This ad targets those people since women who want to stay fit would be willing to buy shoes that would help activate your muscles and give you faster results. This ad specifically targets women who work out and exercise, since the shoes gives you faster results while exercising.
The reason I chose this particular area of research is that peanut butter is an extremely popular food choice worldwide as it is affordable and nutritious; and I also love to eat it. However, the number of brands and the choices within the brand range make it complicated for the consumer and myself to choose the most nutritious option. Prior to this research I did not understand the nutritional content of the food I ate.
The visuals of the two women is the most overwhelming feature of the advertisement that beholds to some an explicit racial implication, which may force readers into interpreting the advertisement as predominantly racist rather than promotional. Although Sony’s aim was to promote this product, the visual of the white woman strangling the black woman may cause audiences to interpret the ad as a racial superiority statement rather than a mere ad campaign. The difference in size between the product (bottom lefthand side) and the visual of the two women calls for more attention to the image of the two women, which depicts a dominance of white over black. A Japanese audience where due to the homogenous aspect of society, the introduction of a new color such as white is special as it is something new and distinct compared to what was then previously available. On the other hand, an American audience will be discomforted by the way in wh...
...ure is so used to seeing woman on display is what makes this ad so subversive. When you realize that the person on the screen is a man you are surprised at such image so far from the norm. The culture is not normally put in the position to view a man in a sexual way. When someone is viewed in a sexual way is it can give a sense of power to the viewer, as if the person being viewed is just a piece of meat. Seeing Joe Namath posing with pantyhose on switches the power roles, now he is on display in a sexual manner rather then a woman.
