With the change within the education system, many schools are looking for new ways to teach students the same curriculum that was taught when the instructors were in school yet with a new twist. The ways of using textbooks and slide-shows are a thing of the past. “By bringing technology into the classroom, teachers can hone in on methodology that students are familiar with, leading to more effective teaching strategies and better results.” (Chen, 2013) The new twist would not only enable students to access fellow students for study groups. They could also get help from the instructors from home with designated office hours outside of school. Local cyber schools are starting to embrace the cloud computing for teaching students who choose to be home schooled. The cloud should be able to give the students a sense of being in a class from home a sense of being focused, while being independent.
With cloud computing being accessed from the internet, sensitive information about any student should be forbidden. The cloud is encrypted but does have risks of security, privacy, interoperability, or performance when selecting a public cloud. The steps to keep students privacy has been seen as a steady rising problem. A private cloud would be more ideal for deployment that can be scaled to determine what information is shared among the student body, teachers and administrative employees of that school district. With the scalability of a private cloud the cost of its use can be kept manageable. The rules of use with the cloud should be outline in a student handbook that is given to each student and parent at the beginning of each semester.
The cloud computing security is not monitored by the school or the school district but by...

...easy retrieval from any device. The plans can also be changed at a whim on the cloud. The presentation slides can be shared with students in their class. The security is set by each individual by use of a password that will allow them to access their information that is stored on the cloud. Teachers can set up group studies to work on projects. The scalability to add more storage for more students that enroll in a school year and draw back that amount when the enrollment is low is another way to look at cost savings. The future cannot always be predicted on the amount of students that will be enrolled for the 2015 school year versus the 2020 school year. Knowing that the cloud can be scaled to fit each school year is better than knowing that the district will have to come out of pocket for the same amount with a significantly less enrollment at any given year.
Technology is a must in today’s digital world. People communicate and interact with friends, family, and colleagues through technology. Community colleges and universities offer online learning. Schools incorporate
Ideally schools in the United States are considered by both parents and students alike to be “safe-havens” where parents can trust their children to learn and remain safe during the day and where students can feel safe in a well-maintained learning environment. However within this fully regulated government service, there are often debates over proper classroom environments, teaching tactics, and privacy issues. Today the main privacy issue in public schools is where to draw the line between keeping the school safe and maintaining the privacy of the students (Boomer par. 19).
Prisons are becoming overpopulated with harmless prisoners, as the years continue to seamlessly pass us by, with drug dealers and petty criminals, since the War on drugs has begun prison population has increased 10-fold, going from 100,000 since the beginning of the campaign to 800,000 recorded inmates in the year 2011, that number stems only from those convicted of marijuana charges. This main problem causing minority children and families to go through the burden that tears most households apart, which is losing the Fatherly figure they need to establish a well-rounded, stabilized, steady family living environment. Yes, many households vary in stress levels and positivity to get their family to pursue a successful career in life or maybe

Despite the numerous advantages offered by cloud computing, security is a big issue concerned with cloud computing. There are various security issues and concerns associated with cloud computing, among them being phishing, data loss and data privacy. There are different mitigation measures that cloud pioneers are currently using to ensure data stored in the cloud remain secure and confidential as intended. Encryption is one mitigation method used to ensure security in cloud computing. According to Krutz and Vines (2010), encryption involves coding of the data stored in the computing cloud such that hackers cannot gain access to the data. Data encryption seems to be the most effective method of ensuring security in computing (Krutz and Vines, 2010). However, it is of paramount importance to note that encrypted data is usually difficult to search or perform various calculations on it.
The popularity and availability of online schooling, also referred to as virtual schools, cyber schools, e-learning, and distance learning, is growing rapidly throughout the U.S. I think the idea of virtual schools is wonderful, especially for those who are home bound or have medical conditions. Students at virtual schools can learn at any time and any place about any number of subjects, which is quite convenient. Students from rural areas can have the wide selection of courses usually only available to students in large suburban or urban schools.
According to The Wallace Foundation (n.d.), “It goes almost without saying that kids today are absorbed in computers, cell phones, video games, television and other media-spending an average of 7 hours and 38 minutes a day with the gadgetry.” Also, Richardson (2013) states that “it 's hard not to look at it as great news for kids, who will see growing availability of computers and access as a means to learn deeply and passionately in ways the current system of schooling was never built for.” Talking about math, Sousa (2015) said that “technology use can help students make significant gains in mathematical achievement and conceptual understanding.” (p. 130). Classroom is a new tool in Google Apps for Education that helps teachers create and organize assignments quickly, provide feedback efficiently, and easily communicate with their classes. (Google Classroom, n.d.). Students can keep track of what’s due to the Assignments page and begin working with just a click and can create presentations using Google Slides. One of the advantages is that they can work using any technology, including computers, iPad, tablets, and smartphones. Teachers can create surveys, quizzes or any assessment using Google Forms and its add-ons. Another advantage is that students and teachers can work from anyplace with Internet access. Teachers can use this platform to prepare the classes from their homes, and give real-time feedback to
Cloud computing is a type of computing that depends on sharing computing resources rather than having local servers or personal device to handle applications.
Today’s generation is like no other. The nation as a whole has completely evolved from past times, with technology being one of the greatest improvements. Traditionally, schooling takes place in a classroom setting, but, with the many modifications in our world’s system, we are able to assimilate more modern means of education, such as online learning. However, with many changes comes differences and requires adjustments. The online learning system has proven to be just as effective as traditional learning, with some minor differences, however, nothing of great significance. A few of those insignificant differences include online learning being convenient, especially for the non-traditional students,
The first thing I looked at was how teachers were being affected by computers. "Integrating technology into your teaching can change the way you deliver content to your classes.[1]" Not only are teachers affected by having to do grades and attendance by computers now but, they also have to worry about teaching their students about computers and integrating it into the daily lesson plans. By doing attendance on computers it saves a lot of time and confusion for schools. No one has to go around and pick up attendance and it does not have to be recorded anymore. Just one easy, quick step and it is all taken care of. In my opinion although computers can be very helpful it might take a while and some long hours for a teacher to switch over from running a classroom one way to using computers in their daily lesson plans.
Many people think online education can be more expensive than a traditional school setting. Previous generations did not have the option for online learning experience, so why should we start now? An interesting point about online education is that LeBaron (2010) states, “The largest school in the U.S. is the University of Phoenix Online, with a whopping 380,232 students. That’s over 5x more than the largest public school, Arizona State University, which has 68,064 students” (para. 7). Despite the cost effectiveness, distance education is becoming the educational model of the future.
First off, students can learn from a single professor. "Potentially, 100,000 students can be in the same class at the same time, listening and learning via voice, watching the professor write on the electronic white board, posing questions via chat/e-mail, and viewing related materials during class time to facilitate learning." (Leonard, 1997) It can also "support homework submission, immediate web based testing of students knowledge of facts, concepts, applications, and quick links to chat rooms from after class student discussion on every aspect of the professor's points each day. (Leonard, 1997)
With the wave of technology being a part of the main stream educational process, online learning is being considered as an option for most parents of a K-12 learner. Although it is a great way to learn it involves time and commitment from both students and their families. It is also making it easier for home schooled students to get their lessons, as well as for the resources parents need in teaching their child at home.
Every semester, millions of students in the US take at least one online class. In 2006, these numbers were estimated about 3.5 million. (The future 2) Back in the 1980s the online learning was limited only to watching previously recorded videos tapes has been used for some time and among other thing as well(2) but online learning has increased with technologies boost and stimulate. Some schools entirely offer their classes online only and the other have both online learning and traditional as well. On the other hand, the technology advancing has gave online learning more innovation in the way it is seen now. For instance, Khan Academic, founded by Salman Khan has been providing online Math tutors for most of all math levels. Student can easily
As time goes by, advances in technology will provide more and more avenues for learning by way of the computer. The Internet has opened the doors of the world and unleashed limitless possibilities in research and education. It may be only a matter of time when the classroom is brought online to all children and attending a school classroom outside the home is a thing of the past. Looking back over the last 20 years, I never would have imagined that computers would come this far and impact our lives so much. Just imagine where they will be 20 years from now.
