Clinical human factors are the factors that influence a person in their day to day behaviour. Human factors which are also known as ergonomics or human engineering is a scientific discipline that looks In detail into human behaviour and capabilities in our day to day activities, this is to find the best ways to design products, equipment and systems for maximum safety, effectiveness. Communication is one of the most important factors for working in the ambulance service, it provides knowledge and understanding, and it also allows you to connect with your patients and vice versa. Communication between health care works in paramount, anything can be misconstrued. Information that is not transmitted correctly the message is unclear and the message gets miss read, this could cause endless issues for staff and patents. Or sometimes things can be misinterpreted. You have to remember that patients are already in a fragile condition so, make it as easy as possible by using positive statements and questions. For example, use phrases like: "That will be more comfortable; that looks better; you 're doing a good job." It 's important that patients hold a positive image of the future. Ask about their family or vacation plans. Have them focus on something to look forward to and the good things in life. (5 skills, 2015) it’s also important to remember that you may have a clam patent but you have to remember the family member or friends that are around, again come down to their level for example a distressed child, don’t hang over them stoop down and talk to them face to face, and explain in a calm voice what happening and what you are going to do, this is the best way to communicate with a more likely effective

Another factor that influences being a safe and professional nurse is having the right attitude. This will help you develop your nursing skills better if you have a positive attitude, because you may work with a team of registered nurses but you must recognize that each of you have your strengths and weaknesses. You must value each nurse for their expertise and skills, and always be willing to learn and accept feedback to help improve yourself. As a nurse, you may be great at starting IVs, while another nurse may be great at talking to patients, another nurse may be great at wound care, etc. Overall, recognizing when to ask for help is a good quality in nursing, this isn’t as a disfavor to yourself but actually a service to your patient, because
A registered nurse (RN) is someone that went through a university or college and studied nursing; and then passed the national licensing exam to obtain a license to practice nursing. The degree earned by an RN at the need of the program is deemed a professional nursing degree. The RN top nursing staff and they usually works independently. On the hand, an LPN only earns a practical nursing degree after completion of the program. LPNs are mostly recognized only in USA and Canada; they are also named as License Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of California and Texas. LPN work under the supervisor of an RN or a physician.
Communication encompasses a wide range of processes such as the exchange of information, listening, posing of questions (Fleischer et al., 2009) or use of body language. In a healthcare environment where there are constant interactions among nurses, doctors, patients and other health professionals, professional and effective communication is important in ensuring high quality healthcare standards and meeting the individual needs of patients.
The more health care professionals collaborate, the more knowledge is used, and patient safety can be maintained. Communication is related to interprofessional collaboration, because health care professionals collaborate with each other about the patient through communicating with each other. “Collaboration among nurses, physicians, and other members of the care team can improve the outcomes of care for patients” (Engel & Prentice, 2013; IOM, 2010).
There are many who believe that the next shortage will be worse and the demand for nurses will increase. There will be more jobs available especially with the baby boomer nurses retiring. Wood believes that when nurses retire, the next shortage could be even worse than the previous shortage. According to Wood this would lead to an “intellectual drain of institutional and professional nursing knowledge” (Wood, 2011, para 15). Staiger agrees as well that a shortage of nurses is expected again when nurses retire and since the economy will be more stable full-time nurses will go back to being part-time (Huston, 2017). Huston expects for the supply of nurses to grow minimally in the next couple of years and for a large number of nurses
“We can’t turn away from a patient’s pain just because it’s difficult” (chapman, 2015, p. 88). I know the path of least resistance is taking a path of ignorance. Easy, is to ignore or neglect the true pain patients experience in times of crisis. As caregivers I believe we all want to heal others or we wouldn’t be in the field of nursing, but there are only handfuls willing to be present during the healing process because sharing one’s pain hurts. As a surgical nurse, I find being genuinely present takes hard work on my behalf, not only mentally but emotionally. On a unit where patient’s needs and conditions are changing at astonishing rates, being present requires mental strength in order slow down enough to recognize the value presence
“Communication is the heart of nursing… your ability to use your growing knowledge and yourself as an instrument of care and caring and compassion” (Koerner, 2010, as cited in Balzer-Riley, 2012, p. 2). The knowledge base which Koerner is referring to includes important concepts such as communication, assertiveness, responsibility and caring (Balzer-Riley, 2012). Furthermore, communication is complex. It includes communication with patients, patient families, doctors, co-workers, nurse managers and many others. Due to those concepts and the variety of people involved, barriers and issues are present. Knowing how to communicate efficiently can be difficult.
In the provision of a high quality care, many factors influence the way it is provided; however, IC is crucial. A healthy work environment would result from open communication among the staff, it would increase the employees and patients’ level of satisfaction and sense of well-being. Good communication is the cornerstone for the IC, it is a complex process which requires to develop some skills to learn how to transmit some information. One of the most common factors leading to medical errors, are due to miscommunication, sometimes because the message is not clearly sent, and others because it is not clearly received or it is misunderstood (Danna, 2015). In terms of communication non-verbal communication must be taken into consideration as well; body language, facial expressions, use of space, and touch, entail conscious or unconscious movements and gestures, also impacts the communication among the staff and

It is essential for a nurse to be able to demonstrate and practice professional communication skills, provision of information and handover to provide a holistic approach to treating and caring for patients. Professional communication skills not only allows the nurse to provide different methods and tactics to communicate with patients of different needs and ages, but it enables the nurse to understand and to give the best possible care and outcome for the patient. Provision of information and handover is another major point for nurses and relates to professional communication. Nurses need to be able to get a detailed diagnosis from the patient through communication, and therefore allows for the nurse to handover vital information to other doctors or nurses who take over to provide the correct and best possible treatments and care. The nursing profession requires a nurse to uphold professional communication, provision of information and handover in order to care for the patient with the right treatment, and to provide the best health outcome.

I have explained three of the seven principles that I use while interacting with my patients daily. The three methods of communication were defined and explained how each is used in the healthcare setting. The communication method that works best on my unit was explained per my unit’s preference. The four-ethical principle regarding communication were explained along with how these principles and team communication affect patient safety. As much as working is very demanding especially as a nurse so is studying also. There are so many challenges which are involved in working and studying at the same time, some of which are: Goal, Finances, Stress, Time Management and Socialization. These challenges have both positive and negative effects on working and studying. As a matter of fact, it takes one determination and commitment to be able to combine the two at the same time and still be able to achieve ones aim.
