Cinematic Arts Personal Statement When I think of what I’m most fond of in life, I regrettably find that it will never be possible to experience every single version of that particular entity. I will never get to read every single book that will ever be written, nor will I be able to watch every single film that will ever be made. I will never pet every single dog that will ever exist, nor will I ever smile at every child that will ever live. Perhaps it is this limitedness of life that makes it so interestingly remarkable. Everything has an end, yet most people would rather not entertain such an idea. Maybe there is another place for people after life as we know it, or maybe there are infinite number of realities in which life exists. Consequently, …show more content…
It’s impossible not to be enchanted by such a place that seethes liveliness, is full of diverse history, art, architecture, languages and people of all colors and backgrounds. As we entered one of the historical sites we were met by a group of schoolgirls and boys who were on a field trip. I have no idea what it was that attracted us to them, as the place was bustling with tourists all around, but they surrounded us and started screaming at us with excitement. Shortly we realized, they all wanted to take a picture with us, and one by one introduced themselves to us. This interaction, so unexpected yet so welcoming, is one that have made feel such profound joy that I felt a sense of hopefulness for the world in which we live in. It was nothing but pure warmth and affection that we have witnessed in that moment. None of those children we encountered that day expected anything back from us other than to have a memorable moment with people who come from another place in the world. They all specifically told us to remember each and every single one of them. I still look at those photos and see the moment of happiness that we all shared. And even if I don’t remember every one of their names, I could never forget about them. They showed me how capable we are of treating each other with respect and kindness based on the fact that we are all human
Not only is human connection vital to live a happy and joyful life, but it is necessary to create a legacy, and thus live on through others. But in order to do this, one must first overcome their ego and their sense of self. Once all of the “I” thoughts are gone, one can relate, but fully understand, the higher powers as well as other human beings around us. However, it is important to accept that we may never fully understand the driving force of this universe. While it can be experienced, and we can briefly get an idea of what it is, it is impossible to define these concepts in words, because we don’t have a language that transcends what we can understand. And though many recognize that these concepts could never be fully understood by the human brain, determined minds continue to ask questions that will never have an answer, “pushing their minds to the limits of what we can know” (Armstrong,
To put it simply, there is nothing more I would rather do than influence how people see good and the bad in our world, and to me there is only one medium for that, film.
The universe we inhabit is by all accounts an atypical one; a few people manage its foolishness by encompassing themselves with faith, while others disregard all its significance. Existentialism, nonetheless, ushers us down a remarkable course that darkens these perspectives toward one of a kind belief structure. Despite the fact that we can experience circumstances that are out of our control, we do have the ability to control how we manage said circumstances and regardless of whether we decide to create significance from them. The chase for our actual importance is primitive as are the answers that have maintained it throughout history. Certainly, life does not have an unmistakable settled intending to it; it is up to every person to find their own particular relative target and accomplish their own joy. This is absolutely what existentialism suggests, that it is not prone to know reality,
...is life? We may not know what’s out there, beyond this world and beyond the infinite number of galaxies and universes, which dwell out of our reach. However, what we do know is this, the only things that are guaranteed in life are the present and the knowledge that one day each life will reach an inevitable end. We will all choose to take different routes in life with different careers and goals. We will all grow to accomplish different things and each of these will play an important role in the big picture of life.
...tive occurrences in life, and even manage to derive some positives from such experiences. Those who argue against this concept do it on a basic level, without truly understanding the impact of eternal recurrence on a free spirit. Such arguments are made on a surface interpretation, without taking into account; the fact that such an approach involves a person’s every move throughout their life, as they seek to achieve the most fulfilling life experience, regardless of wealth or social status. In the end, the adoption of such an approach depends on personal perception, because some people might view the opportunity to relive every moment of their lives as an opportunity not to be missed, while others might view it as an unnecessary burden.
In the face of adversity, bonds are formed that transcend the boundaries of language, culture, and background. We fought side by side, united by a common cause. As I’ve traveled through distant lands, I’ve encountered a rich tapestry of people and cultures. From bustling markets overflowing with life to serene temples resonating with prayers, each place has its own unique story to tell. It’s been a humbling experience to witness the diversity and beauty of the
Everybody needs to eat and in the modern century one needs money, but what if one doesn't have enough? That is poverty, and it is a strong force that wraps its arms around somebody, trapping them in its grasp. and the urge to leave is strong and that urge can make one do what they would never if not in poverty. In the poem “Harlem Shadows” by Claude McKay and the song “Money Trees” by Kendrick Lamar, these themes are discussed. Born Festus Claudius McKay, Claude Mckay is a Jamaican-American poet born to peasant farmers, who came to the United States in 1912 after getting a stipend and award for his initial work on poetry.
The universe, and what it means to be alive is almost impossible to define; yet that does not stop humanity from trying. “Lonergan’s philosophy of the human person reveals that being human means having an unlimited number and variety of questions about life and the universe.” (Morgan, 1996). There is no limit on the number and variety of questions the human person will ask, "the most subversive people are those who ask questions” (Gaarder), as a result there are many varied and opinionated answers. This essay will explore three different theories on how one might find answers to life's ultimate questions. At one point or another, every human being has asked the question why: Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is the point? It is in our nature as human beings to reason, to think, to ask, it is what separates us from the rest of creation, and with this ability to reason, we are left with one question: Why? Throughout history many have tried to answer this question, some have come to the conclusion that meaning is found through God, and one’s faith. Others feel that life begins meaningless, and it is up to the individual to give life meaning; then there are those who believe that life has no meaning, and we are all essentially, just waiting to die, "The meaning of life is that it ends." (Kafka).
When you love to do something, you want to do it every day, all the time, till you get sick of it. Even then that excitement and devotion to do it is still there. That is how I feel about art. I have a great passion for it. It is a form where I can express myself in a way words can’t.
“My life is story telling. I believe in stories in their incredible power to keep people alive, to keep the living alive and the dead.”
Journal 1: The Professional I came into The Professional not knowing very much about the film save for the general plot and that this was Natalie Portman’s first major movie. I knew the plot centered around the unconventional relationship between a young girl and a trained hitman, and that Gary Oldman starred as the antagonist. I did not know much about the actual substance of the film. Even though I knew very little about the movie, I still found it easy to predict the plot points beat for beat. The movie follows a rather simple narrative structure where we see a cold and calculating killer transform into a loving surrogate father, while a young and naive girl learns about the harsh realities of life.
The prospect of becoming a filmmaker is my true destiny. Discovering this passion of mine was not an immediate epiphany, rather a gradual process and growing love for something that has forever changed me. As I reflect on what influenced my relationship with film I am able to bring it all the way back to my early childhood when I put on elaborate performances in my backyard. My imagination wandered off to far lands where anything was possible, and all I wanted to do was bring people with me. This relates to one of the reasons I am fascinated with film, experiencing a reality in which your mind is completely immersed and intiguid by is truly exceptional.
The Creative Arts play a significant role in early childhood education as it provides children with a diverse range of skills to enhance their learning and development to meet the needs of succeeding in the 21st century. Educators can promote The Arts by adopting the Reggio Emilia approach to education, encouraging children to co-construct the curriculum to develop their skills in partnership with teachers, families and their cohorts. The focus of this essay is to emphasise the value of Creative Arts in early childhood education by providing a summary of the concepts and skills of the Creative Arts and the four strands; Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts. Then, ascertain how Creative Arts benefit children’s social development, language and
Passion for Family, Community, Business, Technology and Intellectual growth are what motivate me on the daily basis. These are vital parts that have contributed to framing me into the person I’ve become. They have also shaped my short-term and long-term goals in life. It’s critical for one to have a vision for their life and what they anticipate to accomplish. Without a vision or desire there is no hope for one to continue and to purse anything. On one of the summer days I was riding in a car with my parents and elder brother. We were heading to Abai region. I had been looking forward to the family outing since long and I felt excited about exploring my grandparents’ homeland.
