In this essay I will be telling you about Christianity. Christianity is one of the most popular religions, with an average of two billion followers. I will be telling you the supreme being, sacred book, holidays, place of worship, and the symbol of Christianity. In my opinion Christianity is a religion that you have things to follow but you can still be yourself and be independent.
The supreme being of Christianity is God. Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and savior of all humanity. Jesus came to fulfil and teach God’s law. They believe God is still here today through the Holy Spirit.
Christianity is divided into three branches. The three branches are Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant. Eastern Orthodox include the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches. Roman Catholic includes the Catholic church. Protestant include many groups such as Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, and many more. Even though Christianity is divided into these three groups they still all believe in God and are considered Christians.

Islam has about 1 billion followers. The supreme being of Islam is Allah. Muslims go to Mosque also known as “church” on Fridays to worship. Their holy book is the Qur’an. The symbol for Islam is the star and crescent. The most popular and important Islamic holiday is Ramadan. Ramadan starts on the ninth month of the Muslim year. During Ramadan there is very strict fasting from sunrise to sunset. You can’t eat or drink anything at all. After when you can eat or drink they usually have a big feast with family. As you can see the main difference between Christianity and Islam is that our holidays aren’t as strict like we don’t have to fast if we choose not
Christianity has grounded our lives in the living God as revealed through Jesus. This belief must be a choice people make as well as a gift we all receive within the Christian community. Christians must trust in and rely upon God as the source of everything in their lives. Faith is about believing in the trinity; God, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit as three in one. Christians follow Jesus’ teachings and answer the call to be his disciples in the world. Christian faith is looking forward to joining God in the future and entering into the coming kingdom that God has promised His followers through Jesus. Christians join together in reflecting with each other in the Christian community about the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ. Christians believe in the “new life in Christ,” which is the gift of God’s grace; such rebirth and personal assurance gives all new eyes to see the living truth in Scripture. The Christian worldview may differ in different denominations of Christianity but only exist because of their belief of God and Jesus.
I will begin with Christianity from the in class lecture portion. Christianity has four prophets that were born in Israel between 740-536 BC. Their names were Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. Christianity believes in one God; the “supreme being.” They believe that God is eternal and the creator of the world. Being the “creator of the world” Christians consider God to be the almighty father. Christianity is a theistic religion; this means a “Belief in the existence of a divine reality; usually referring to monotheism (one God).” "Theism." PBS. PBS, n.d. Web. 03 May 2014.” Christians believe in sin and that confession is the only way to redemption. They believe that those who sin and do not confess will be sent to hell. Each christian goes through a spiritual rebirth called Baptism. Lastly, christians believe that salvation only comes through God. When one believes in Jesus and does good work they will be rewarded with the afterlife and acceptance into heaven.
The first thing I will cover is the origin of Christianity. Christianity was created in Palestine in around 30 BC. Christianity was started when Jesus of Nazareth began walking the earth teaching the people. He was believed to be the son of God and had twelve disciples that followed him wherever he went. His teachings were from the bible and the religious leaders of the time thought him to be a heretic. He often spoke of how the Pharisees were misconstruing their power and were teaching fallacies among the people. Jesus was then caught by Romans after being caught preforming a miracle or "working" on the Sabbath. He was sentenced to death by crucifixion and was killed and buried soon after. Three days passed before he rose up and out of his grave and went back to his disciples. He then gave the disciples their mission and ascended into heaven. Christians believe that through his death and resurrection Jesus defeated death and therefore was the ultimate sacrifice to forgive all sins past, present, and future.
All of the religions in the world are great. However, there is one that always seems to catch everyone’s interest and that is Christianity. Christianity is one of the largest growing religions and traditions in the world. But why is it one of the largest growing religions in the world? What is Christianity? What are their teachings? Christianity is the religious tradition based on the life and teaching of Jesus of Nazareth also known as Jesus Christ. Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Everything that the Christians know about him comes from the four Gospels written by, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, which can be found in the New Testament. So, what is a Messiah? The Jews believed that the Messiah would come and present to them a new world free from Roman power and bring about a greater national prosperity. They were expecting not a humble servant of God but a literal king or military leader. Therefore, when investigators want to learn more about Jesus the Messiah and his teachings they can refer to the Four Gospels. Many Christians focus on four of Jesus teachings. They are: The “Kingdom of God” has arrived and is present among us, Love ...
The broadest definition of Christianity is also perhaps the simplest. Across the history and branches of the religion, “it is faith in Christ, not the scrupulous and religious keeping of the law...which is the basis of salvation” (McGrath 15). The religion that is now a major global force has grown out of a small group tucked away in one corner of the world, breaking and changing over time, yet united by a faith in this revolutionary man who claimed to be the son of God, Jesus Christ.
The rise of Christianity in western civilization is arguably among the most important memories in history. There is no denying what the spread of Christianity has done for the world, for better or worse. Its impact on western civilizations is unrivaled and unprecedented. Christianity slowly became something for many individuals to turn to; in times of hurt it provided comfort, in times of pleasure it gave thanks. The will and belief for salvation has driven individuals to be better, and to have a reference while in need.
Christianity teaches that there is merely one God in all existence and that God created the universe. It also teaches that Jesus is the only way to be set free from the coming judgment of God and that Jesus desires his values and his standards to abound. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that
Until 381CE, Christianity had experienced many persecutions. However, over time it became the central religion of the Roman Empire. Conversely, in the 11th century, Christianity had split into two main denominations, the Church of the East, known as the Orthodox Church, and the Church of the West, known as the Roman Church. This was due to the breakdown of the Roman Empire. Similarly, in the 16th century the ‘Reformation in Europe’ led to more divisions.
Christianity is one of the world’s largest religions with over two billion adherents worldwide. Christianity is a very complex religion that can be divided into two branches: Protestantism and Catholicism. Catholicism has been around much longer than Protestantism and there are many differences between the two. The differences between Catholicism and Protestantism can be found in their views, doctrine and practices.
Roman Catholic, Orthodox Church, and Protestant Church are the three main branches of Christianity. Under the same name of Christianity, these three were separated due to the differences in theology and culture. After attending Sunday services in all three dominations, the similarities and differences of these three Churches were observed. The first Sunday service attended was University Catholic Center at UCLA (UCC).
Christianity is one of the world’s most widely practiced religions and has a long history spanning back over two-thousand years. Some might say that its history might go back even farther to include the history of Judaism because there are prophets in Hebrew scripture who foretold the coming of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe to be the Messiah that God promised the Jewish people. This paper discusses how Christianity influences our society today, some of its history along with some of our beliefs. However, it is impossible to tell the complete history of Christianity in just one essay because for all two thousand years it has been in existence, there are literally thousands of things to talk about. The construction of our religious buildings, the Crusades, how the Protestant Reformation branched it out into what it is today, any of these things can and have been made into essays, books, and even movies on their own. That being said, it will touch on each of the questions which were asked in the assignment and will add a bit more depth on a few other things which are considered very important to the history of Christianity.
Christians believe that there is only one God, but that there are three elements to this one God: God the Father, God the Son and The Holy Spirit. The three major branches of Christianity are Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestantism, with numerous subcategories within each of these branches. Central to Christian practice

Pentecostals make their fasting with a purpose; sometimes can be to ask for something or to be forgiven by God. When a Pentecostal is fasting it is a very personal thing and it is not discuss with anyone. For instance, when someone is not married you cannot have sex with somebody that you are not marrying with. If someone is committing this types or other different sins should not be taking the holy bread or drinking wine. I have known people that they are committing this type of sin and one of the ways that can be hide from everyone is by eating the holy bread and drinking the wine because usually that people who do not take the holy bread and wine sometimes are people who have been sinning and that have not stop it. Pentecostals have a big respect for the holy bread and the wine but if you take it knowing you are sinning then it will be a sin that you will personally deal with God. That is why Pentecostals ask God for forgiveness and when is a deeply sin they like to fast. When I fast is if I want to get something very challenge and I know that I need God’s helps or if I have sin many times and for me this is the right way to ask God for forgiveness. While the Muslims in the Ramadan month, they need to also have some other restrictions in their body to also respect this act. For example, the tongue should be restrained from lies, gossip or offences, your hands should not
