10. Christianity: Christianity is based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the New Testament. The adherents of this religion are known as Christians. Christians have two holy books: The Old Testament and the New Testament. Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human, and the savior of humanity who’s coming as Christ was prophesied in the Old Testament. Christians believe that there is only one God, but that there are three elements to this one God: God the Father, God the Son and The Holy Spirit. Samaritan-ism: Samaritan-ism is a closely related religion to Judaism. The Samaritans are adherents of Samaritan-ism. They are an ethno religious group of the Levant, descended from ancient Semitic inhabitants of the region. Samaritans worship is based on the Samaritan Pentateuch. The Samaritan Pentateuch is also known as the Samaritan Torah, is a manuscript of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, written in the Samaritan alphabet. Some six thousand differences exist between the Samaritan and the Masoretic Text. Samaritans do not accept the Old Testament books of historical writings or wisdom literature as sacred scripture. They believe that Samaritan-ism is the only true religion of the ancient Israelites. Their holy sanctuary is not Jerusalem but the Mount Gerizim. Samaritans believe in a Restorer, called the "Taheb", who is roughly equivalent to the Jewish Messiah. His ministry will center on Mt. Gerizim, bringing about the unification of Judah and Israel and the restoration of the true religion of Moses.
