Christianity is seen as the way to salvation for the sins that have been committed. It is full of diverse because it has spread throughout the world and has been translate into many different languages. Christianity is broken up into three main branches: Roman Catholic, Protestant and the Orthodox. Jesus is an icon that is recognized world-wide. It is one of the World’s most popular religions. Christians are considered monolithic because when it comes to the Trinity, they seen God the father, God the son, and the Holy Spirit as one entity. Unlike Jews or Muslims, Christians are considered soft monotheistic people because they at least replete Jesus sculptures or painting. Also, Christians recite the Nicene Creed and Catholicism. For Christians it is important to have both belief and faith. The story you hear behind Christianity often depends on where you live and who is telling it. The most common heard version is the one about Adam and Eve, when they were in the Garden of Eden and ate the fruit that was forbidden to them. When they ate the fruit they deceived God and created sin for the world. God then sent his son, our savior, from saving us from the sins by being crucified on the cross for us.
Faith is what is centered around Jesus. Jesus is seen as savior along as being viewed as a God and Christ. To you, “Jesus” can have a different meaning and tomorrow “Jesus” Christians see Jesus as the one who has the power of God. To be a Christian you can either be born into through baptism and also by doing what Christians do. Or, it or you can be born again as a Christian, this case is
As ancient Rome began to fall, Christianity began rising. Around 2,000 years ago, Jesus of Nazareth was born, later to be known as the Messiah or Son of God. When people of the Roman era began to hear of such a powerful being, they began to convert to Christianity. Why did Christianity take hold on the ancient world; Christianity took hold on the ancient world because it offered immortality, equality, and it was spread like wildfire.
Christianity has grounded our lives in the living God as revealed through Jesus. This belief must be a choice people make as well as a gift we all receive within the Christian community. Christians must trust in and rely upon God as the source of everything in their lives. Faith is about believing in the trinity; God, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit as three in one. Christians follow Jesus’ teachings and answer the call to be his disciples in the world. Christian faith is looking forward to joining God in the future and entering into the coming kingdom that God has promised His followers through Jesus. Christians join together in reflecting with each other in the Christian community about the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ. Christians believe in the “new life in Christ,” which is the gift of God’s grace; such rebirth and personal assurance gives all new eyes to see the living truth in Scripture. The Christian worldview may differ in different denominations of Christianity but only exist because of their belief of God and Jesus.
I will begin with Christianity from the in class lecture portion. Christianity has four prophets that were born in Israel between 740-536 BC. Their names were Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. Christianity believes in one God; the “supreme being.” They believe that God is eternal and the creator of the world. Being the “creator of the world” Christians consider God to be the almighty father. Christianity is a theistic religion; this means a “Belief in the existence of a divine reality; usually referring to monotheism (one God).” "Theism." PBS. PBS, n.d. Web. 03 May 2014.” Christians believe in sin and that confession is the only way to redemption. They believe that those who sin and do not confess will be sent to hell. Each christian goes through a spiritual rebirth called Baptism. Lastly, christians believe that salvation only comes through God. When one believes in Jesus and does good work they will be rewarded with the afterlife and acceptance into heaven.
Many people would not believe that worldview would be involved in the topic of work, but it certainly is. Worldview stretches throughout almost every facet of our lives and is even an intricate part of work. Christian and secular viewpoints differ immensely when it comes to work. Many Christians believe that work is an intricate part of God’s plan for mankind while the secular viewpoint sees it as more of a personal, everyday activity the serves no more of a purpose that that of personal success. The secular worldview has distorted the context of work and only the Christian worldview can redeem it to its original context.
Christian Worldview is specific and one that focuses on gods teaching through, scripture, prayer, chapel and the bible. Christians live to Gods words and become a product of God by using his scriptures to live by. Humans must put their trust in God and let him guide their lives. In order to have a good relationship with God you must have faith and ask for forgiveness when needed. This worldview can be explained by answering who God is, who Jesus is, how humanity goes into being a Christian, and how to solve the problems of humanity.

Christianity is the most widespread religion in the world with two billion followers. Many aspects of Christianity are based on Judaism (Tiemann 526). Christianity is based on the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christ’s message to everyone is personal salvation and also promises faith and love triumphs over sin and death. The origins of Christianity are based on the book that Christians read, the Holy Bible. Christians believe the Bible is God’s word. In the Bible, God talks about The Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are agreements between God and his chosen people. Christianity is an example of monotheism. What makes up the God that Christians believe is God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit. The three of these makes up the Trinity of Christianity (Brown 76). Some of the Christian practices are gathering at churches for worship, fellowship and engage in the world through evangelism. One of the beliefs that Christians have is Jesus will come back to earth and take those who believe in Him back to Heaven.
Essentially, Christianity was developed out of the other popular religion known as Judaism. It all started with Jesus, a child who was born in a small corner within the Roman Empire, to the woman known as the Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary is well known due to the writings of Luke and Matthew that appear in the New Testament, which is part of the Bible. He was a Jewish child that is often remembered as being called Jesus of Nazareth or simply that he is recognized as being the Son of God. Jesus didn’t become well known until he was thirty years old, which is during the time that John the Baptist baptized him and he started his ministry by teaching, healing and working miracles .
The rise of Christianity in western civilization is arguably among the most important memories in history. There is no denying what the spread of Christianity has done for the world, for better or worse. Its impact on western civilizations is unrivaled and unprecedented. Christianity slowly became something for many individuals to turn to; in times of hurt its provided comfort, in times of pleasure it has given thanks. The will and belief for salvation has driven individuals to be better, and to have a reference while in need. The rise of Christianity more than 2000 years ago provided necessary building blocks for the future. Without Christianity there would be no cathedrals, no monasteries, no music from one Johann Sebastian Bach, no paintings from Michelangelo, nor no philosophy from Saint Augustine (Backman 205). There are countless times in history, whether good or bad, that can be credited to
Ideally, according to the Christian view, Christianity is to believe in Jesus even when he is not visible. In other words, Christians walk by faith and not by sight. Furthermore, Christianity involves consistency of morality which entails features that requires people to be honest and truthful in all areas in life. Overall, the emergence of Christianity was concerned with a spiritual, not earthly kingdom.
Christianity is one of the world’s most widely practiced religions and has a long history spanning back over two-thousand years. Some might say that its history might go back even farther to include the history of Judaism because there are prophets in Hebrew scripture who foretold the coming of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe to be the Messiah that God promised the Jewish people. This paper discusses how Christianity influences our society today, some of its history along with some of our beliefs. However, it is impossible to tell the complete history of Christianity in just one essay because for all two thousand years it has been in existence, there are literally thousands of things to talk about. The construction of our religious buildings, the Crusades, how the Protestant Reformation branched it out into what it is today, any of these things can and have been made into essays, books, and even movies on their own. That being said, it will touch on each of the questions which were asked in the assignment and will add a bit more depth on a few other things which are considered very important to the history of Christianity.
Christianity has the largest world’s cultural, religious and political development. As same as Judaism and Islam, Christianity is also monotheistic. People who follow the religion Christianity are known as Christians. Christians follow the teachings of a man named Jesus, who was born in Palestine in about A.D. 30. Through the belief in Jesus, people believe that humanity can achieve salvation. Judaism and Christianity are quite similar. The teachings of Jesus were rooted in Jewish tradition. For example, Jesus accepted the Ten Commandments that God had given to the Jews through Moses; he preached new ideas at the same time. Also, like the Torah from Judaism, the Bible was the Christianity’s holy book. Although there are a lot of differences between the Islam and the Christianity, there is, still, a little similarity.
The Modernization of Christianity With over two billion adherents, Christianity is by far the largest religious group on the planet, and the religion has gone truly global over the past century. Europe was the clear center of Christianity one hundred years ago, but today Christians are spread out throughout the world, everywhere from the United States to Brazil to Ethiopia to China. Many people believe that Christianity would not have thrived or even survived this long had it not been for the modernization and the transformation of the religion throughout its history. Throughout the two thousand year time span that Christianity has existed, there have been countless social changes, historical figures, and technological developments that have
Christianity is the religion based on the belief of one God, the life of Jesus, and the enlightenment Jesus gave to the people of Rome occupied Israel.
