A person seems happier when they are ready to go work at a company of their dreams. Yet, choosing a company is one of the hardest tasks that we have to face. I never have thought about the company of my dreams since, my dreams always keep changing and wanting to work in different other places and even different parts of the word. As we grow up we have to minimize those companies by different categories, such as the work field environment, location, and benefits in order to see which one is the best for our future plans. Walgreen's, which has 56 stores in the states and it is the company of my dreams and would be amazing to settle into as a Pharmacy Technician. This company is perfect for me since it supports diversity and culture, training programs and voluntary work, better yet the benefits and locations this company has to offer for their employees. Walgreen's was the one that stood out for me was its diversity outlook and their corporate culture. While doing research about this company I came across the section of Diversity and Inclusion at Walgreen's, which I love one part of their paragraph, “Diversity isn't about tolerance, but acceptance. It is also not about what you look like, but rather about celebrating our differences and recognizing the unique value that every person brings to the organization.” This makes me happy to know that a company like this oversees looks and does not judge, they just value the skills the person is able to bring to the table and want the best work from each employee. Another thing I found was their core culture beliefs they have came up with “Be One, Be Real, Be Bold, Build Trust, Love Customers, Own It, and Live It.” This company wants the best for their customers and as well as employees... ... middle of paper ... ...ife. Having to pick the perfect company to work for, there are a lot of things we have to consider and if the company will work best for our abilities. Walgreen's works best for my abilities and gives me that challenge that I need in life to be successful and be proud of my achievements I have done while working there. ...bsite, Walgreens allots the viewer to truly see how important diversity is to their company. By providing mission statements, company initiatives and goals, and links to outside websites dedicated solely to diversity practices, Walgreens establishes itself as one of the most diversified and successful companies in America. AutoZone does the opposite of this by discriminating against certain individuals and not protecting the rights of all who work for them. Further, they have made no efforts to enhance their public perspective. To fix this, they could start a grassroots movement at each individual store welcoming in minorities and attempting to get various people in the community involved. Then, at the national level, they could develop a firm understanding of their diversity policies and publish them in an easily accessible place on the company website.
Mr. Walgreen knew if he was going to be successful in the pharmacy business, he had to learn as much as he could from other pharmacists. Mr. Walgreen worked a series of jobs with the top leading pharmacists named Samuel Rosenfeld, Max Grieben, William G. Valentine, and Isaac W. Blood. However, Mr. Walgreen found that these pharmacists were teaching him old fashioned complacent methods of running a drugstore. He asked himself, “where was the selection of goods that customers really wanted and what about the customer service?” Mr. Walgreen c...
Since 1901, Walgreens has had a strong passion for customer service. The founder, Charles Walgreens, goal was to create a drugstore that was like no other. He said that for as many drugstores as he had worked at, he had never worked for one that had a focus for good customer service and low prices. Walgreens has grown by leaps and bounds since 1901 and is now recognized as the leader in the market with over 7000 stores. Charles Walgreen had an eye for good managers. He said he was able to pick people that he knew were smarter than him so to promote them and make them the heads of his drugstores. As a store manager, not only is it your job to run a store which includes ordering, customer care, and inventory control, but also it is your job to manage the staff. As a part of managing staff, it is their responsibility to hire, train and develop, and terminate if need be. While there are many jobs to choose from when it comes to HR and employee staffing, I choose this one because it is by far to me the most intense.

If you have ever heard me talk about Wal-Mart, you may notice I constantly call it a communist regime. It may have nothing related to communism, but communism is bad and so is employment at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart for me was the most biased and unfair treatment of any kind that I have ever felt in my life. Their policies are extremely ridiculous and their managers have very unrealistic goals. Wal-Mart is, in my opinion, one of the most stressful and unfair places to work.
Wal-Mart has branded stores in all 50 states and in over 27 countries. Wal-Mart started with humble roots in 1962 by Sam Walton in the small town of Bentonville, Arkansas. Within thirty years, the small local discount retailer grew to one of the largest retail companies in the United States of America. Now it stands as the largest retailer in the world. As the largest retailer, Wal-Mart has gained many detractors. In "The Case for Wal-Mart," Karen De Coster and Brad Edmonds recognize how people “like to attack bigness” (632). Many believe Wal-Mart offers low wage jobs with few employee benefits, discriminates against women, and among many other issues, doesn’t give back to the community (631). In contrast to the constant barrage negative attacks, Wal-Mart proves beneficial to the community. Wal-Mart prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer to such a degree it has the most diverse group of employees anyone can imagine. Most Wal-Mart stores are the anchor that provides a steady stream of consumers to other much small businesses in the area. Beyond providing quality jobs for the people in and around the store, Wal-Mart brings convenience, lower prices, and help to those in need.
