There is no supporting evidence that any type of screen time is beneficial to babies, there is a big difference between a claim and when someone says something. It is found that more children that are preoccupied with media, even educational, are more likely to become obese, lack in social skills, and be less creative. The truth of the matter is that since the dawn of man, parents have always been there teaching their children to survive. Whether it was hunting, walking, or speaking, the interaction between the parent and the child will always be paramount in the child’s development. Television is a distraction for children and can hurt their cognitive abilities if they watch too much because it is non interactive. I believe that to much screen time is bad for children. I believe that the benifits of young children watching TV is not enough to out way the risks of children watching TV.

There is much speculation about whether or not what the child is doing is more good or bad for them. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an organization that is committed to the health of children and young adults. They believe that screen time should be limited to two hours a day for adolescents but some argue that the recommended time should be raised to four hours.

How much technology can improve or distract from these essential skills varies with age. The impact and implications of technology tools on young children has been studied and researched through the Let’s Move Childcare initiative and results concluded that little to no “screen time” is preferred for children under the age of two.
