Each year, thousands of children are killed or injured because of the car accidents. It was not until 1962 did people design Child safety seats to protect children from injury or death during car accidents (Car Seats.) There were two inventors who invented the child safety seats. The first inventor was Briton Jean Ames, who invented the seat featured a Y-strap, which was similar to the modern one. The second designer was an American called Len Rivkin, who invented the seat surrounded by the metal frame (A Graphic History).
Pennsylvania’s Seat Belt Law states, “Under Pennsylvania’s primary child passenger safety law, children under the age of four must be properly restrained in an approved child safety seat anywhere in the vehicle. Children

The first type of seat is Rear-Facing Only Seats, which is designed for newborn baby weight from 22 pounds to 40 pounds. The size of the safety seat is small, and there is a handle on the seat, so that parents can carry the handle and take the child around. This type of seats is only for travel, not for sleeping, feeding or other uses. The second type of seat is Convertible Seat and this is also a kind of rear facing seats. It is made for children's weight from 40 pounds to 50 pounds, which benefit for larger babies. Also, this type of seats is only for travel, not for sleeping, feeding or other uses. The third type of seat is 3-in-1 Seat and this type of seat is also rear facing. It is suitable for children's weight from 40 pounds to 45 …show more content…
When the car is at a really fast speed, and the child is relatively heavy, the momentum will be large enough that children might be seriously injured. During an accident, the outside force will stop a car. However, according to Newton’s first law, “an object in motion will obtain in the same motion and an object at rest will stay the rest, unless an outside unbalanced force acts on the system,” (Ms. McCole) the child will continue moving until an outside force acts on him/her. As a result, the child may get hurt. Newton’s second law states that F=ma, where F stands for the Force, m stands for the mass, and a stands for the acceleration. The force acts on the child depends on both the mass and the acceleration. If the car is moving fast and the child is heavy, the force acting on the child will be greater than it is
Air Protect who are the car seat safety experts have designed this car seat and it has an advanced cushioning system. The seat pads and the covers on the harness are washable in machine. This fabrics can be easily removed for washing. The height of harness and headrest can be easily adjustable with one hand to provide extra comfort to the kid.
Driving has been around for just over 100 years, but the first thoughts of physics has been around since 400 BC (to be edited ). Driving safety implications have been discussed and improved over the decades as technology begins to leap ahead of its time. According to physician; Newton, there are three laws of motion that is now used in everyday life to try and help prevent deaths due to driving implications. The first law is “An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon on by an unbalanced force.” The object, or Car is in motion continues its motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. The second law is “Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass.” While the third Law of Motion is : “ For every action there is an equal and opposite re-action.This means that for every force there is a reaction force that is equal in size, but opposite in direction.”

The practice of seat belt is a tactic for security while having a weapon on hands like it is a car. Seat belts are life keepers at certain circumstances. Their design role is to lock in an unexpected or abnormal movement generated in the engineering
Child Advocates works with court appointed volunteers to break the cycle of child abuse. Child Advocates works with people of all races and social classes. Since abuse and neglect is not specific to a particular race, gender, age, or social class. Each court appointed advocated is assigned one case at a time. A child advocate is guided by their advocacy coordinator which enables them to perform a thorough investigation of the case.
Many people may choose not to wear a seatbelt because they don’t understand how and why they work. To begin with seatbelts are the first line of defense one has against an injury in a crash.
Forty-nine states have adult seat belt laws as of 2009. New York was the first state to pass seat belt laws in 1984 and other states followed suit. In 1994, North Dakota became the last state to pass such a law. Currently, New Hampshire is the only state that does not mandate seat belt use for adults (Sefcik, L, 2010). This issue touches on et... ...
Often, they contribute to accident-related injuries, as is described by the term "seat belt syndrome." In many cases, the fibers of the seat belt can cause harm to the chest and abdominal areas. This may include severe cuts and bruises where the seat belt lies across you, as well as more serious damage to the internal organs like tearing of the colon or diaphragm. In some cases the lumbar vertebrae may even be fractured or dislocated. Children are at the highest risk for seat-belt-related injuries and should be closely monitored after a car crash even if they appear unharmed at first

The essay will highlight on a case study regarding children safeguarding and the legislation with the policies that govern them. It will look into the concept of risk and abuse that young children face in their everyday life .It will base on how professionals and multi agencies work together with parents to resolve problems and the potential risk practitioners face when assessing scenario using professional judgement. The multi agencies that involves are police, teachers, children doctors, health visitors, school nurses, GP’s, social workers, family and children when there is a case like abuse or suspect of significant harm of a child. The case study talks about a child called Amie who is exposed to abuse such as physical abuse, emotional abuse and neglect, which can take a great impact on her welfare. Amie is a vulnerable child who leaves dependent on her parents with her other siblings.) According to Parliament UK (2008), a child is vulnerable when he or she is unlikely to achieve the necessary requirement such as health or maintain his or her development without the provision or catering for them of social care services.
Seat belt usage is a struggling problem today through out the United States. It is also lower then any other industrialized nation in the world. The best way to prevent a death in a motor vehicle accident is to wear a seat belt. Everybody has their opinions on safety belts and the laws that go with them, but until they prove them harmful, people recommend for occupants to wear it while in a vehicle. Still today people want it to be a national law for people to buckle up. Estimations from people all over the country prove that seat belts really help save lives. But also some safety belts have failed and have cause people to get trapped in the car. For instance, if someone happens to run off a bridge and go into the water, they would have to
Car accidents are the leading cause of death for people under the age of 35. Wearing a seat belt can prevent death in about half of these accidents. Did you know that every 15 seconds someone is injured in an automobile accident if they are not buckled up, or that every 13 minutes someone is killed in a crash. Failure to wear a seat belt contributes to more fatalities than any other single traffic safety related behavior. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration seatbelts saved nearly 12,000 lives in the United States in the year 2000. The NHTSA estimates that more than 9,000 U.S. car accident fatalities in 2000 would have been avoided if the victims had been wearing seatbelts. Sixty three percent of the people killed in accidents were not wearing seat belts. The NHTSA a...
Although motor vehicle crashes are responsible for most severe maternal injuries and fetal losses form trauma, pregnant women have low rates of seat belt use. Proper seat belt use is the most significant modifiable factor in decreasing maternal and fetal injury and mortality after motor vehicle crashes. Seat belt-restrained women who are in motor vehicle crashes have the same fetal mortality rate as women who are not in motor vehicle crashes, but unrestrained women who are in crashes are 2.8 times more likely to lose their fetuses.
Seat belts help prevent injury when driving. Most car accidents happen when someone is drunk , texting on their phones, or driving too fast. An average of 35,000 people die every year in car accidents. Most of them died because they weren't wearing their seat belts. Some injuries that happen when you don't wear your seat belt are damage to the head, shoulder, stomach, chest, ribs, neck, and hips. The seat belt shoulder straps keep your head from hitting the windshield, dashboard, steering wheel and other hard surfaces. Seat belts reduce serious crash- related injuries and deaths by 50%. Wearing seat belts can save peoples liv...
