Child labor needs to end

“Child slavery is a crime against humanity. Humanity itself is at stake here. A lot of work still remains, but I will see the end of child labor in my lifetime”, said Kailash Satyarthi. Child labor has been going on for many years now. Kids are having to work in terrible working conditions and making very little profit. Kids are usually from the age of ten to fourteen. They work on farms all the way to working in mills. Kids work in about every job they can. These kids are losing out on education, healthcare, leisure, and just even their childhood. This usually down the road leads to being in poverty because they didn’t have that education they …show more content…

There are thousands of kids involved in Child labor in America and their needs to be new and better laws to help protect these kids. Nearly one in five schools have closed, while more than three million children are at risk of death, sexual violence, abduction and recruitment into armed groups -- an increase of more than one million over the past 18 months, according to the UN agency, so the laws we have aren't working and we need to make new and more consequential laws. There was an increase of kids in child labor over the past 18 months so the laws we have aren’t strong enough and need to be improved. There are thousands of kids involved in Child labor in America and there needs to be new and stronger laws so people can’t work around it. People work their way around child labor by having the bare minimum they need. It’s almost like the holocaust in a way, but they're just not killing the kids they're just making them work for barely any pay. 670 youths age sixteen to seventeen were killed and Seventy percent of the deaths involved violations of the FLSA. Meaning that child labor is still going on and is very dangerous. The only way to stop all these deaths from happening is to make those new laws so people can’t work their way around them.
