Starting off the caregivers welcome the children into the child care center with enthusiasm. Immediately, the caregivers approach each child and encourage them to embrace the environment they just walked into. Children walk in every single day clinched to their parents very curious and apprehensive. They quickly observe the environment while their parents and caregivers try to ensure them that everything will be okay. This somewhat brings comfort to the children. Right off the back you can see how attentive, calm and motivating the caregivers are. Their goal is to approach each child and make them feel included. They are gentle and kind, while being authoritative. They use very soft tones and are very informative. This isn’t a center where the child get “baby talked” to, they are approached and spoken to in a very professional manner. They may be spoken to a little different at home because of their family, but the child care center is a …show more content…
When Weston walked through the doors he was very shy and timid. He immediately chose to sit down, hinting to his caregiver where he wanted to go. She was slowly pulled to the seating area. He looked very uncomfortable, but his caregiver had a fresh and confident attitude soon as she walked through the doors. Ultimately, her calm attitude changed the mood quick. As you can see in the video, she is using sign language to communicate with him the entire time and speaking soft words. I don’t know sign language but she was signing at a steady calm pace that soothed him. You can see her joking and laughing with Weston making him feel like awkward and alienated. She wanted him to feel included in the new venture they decided to take together. She encourages communication and holds his hand while patting his head. As a viewer, I could tell that they have a very close relationship. He trusts her and she looks like his best
Overall, I was very impressed with the infant room I observed. To start off the day, the teacher warmly welcomed all of the children and parents. The teacher asked the parent how their night was since they left the daycare the night before, when they ate last, had a diaper change, and when did they wake up. I made me feel like the teacher really cared about the children even when they where not in her care and waited to make sure everything went ok at home. All of the personal care routines where fallowed and the teacher where constantly washing their ha...
At Children’s First, our mission is to keep a safe, healthy, prosperous environment for children. Being a part of this community, I know firsthand what it takes to maintain an ideal setting for children to grow. It is essential for the caretakers to communicate, share information, and work together to put the children first. This core goal of ours, along with my own experience, analysis, interviewing, and observation demonstrate that Children’s First Daycare is a discourse community according to Swale’s six characteristics of a discourse community.
An individual as a caregiver has more one-on-one time with a child as long as their group of children is small. A child could form a stronger bond with a smaller setting and possibly have less separation anxieties to deal with. Some parents feel the time spent with one person could benefit their child more than being with multiple caretakers. The cost of a caregiver usually is less than the traditional day care centers because there is less overhead, but there are not as many opportunities available to them. If a caregiver becomes ill or needs to take a vacation, it is the parent’s responsibility to have a back up to take care of the child during that time. A child with many health problems would possibly not be exposed to as many germs at an individual’s house because they would not come into contact with as many other children on a daily basis. On the other hand, individuals may be more lenient and allow children that are ill to attend. This could be a problem if the parents do not have family or friends that would or could care for the child during this time. A parent may have to miss work entirely to take care of the child, and with the loss of income could put the whole family at risk. A child may have problems at a babysitter such as discipline, allergies, other children, but unless they mention it to the parents they will not...

Observation is very important in young children because that is how you get to know a child better. While observing how a child interacts with their peers, adults, and how they behave in different settings, you are getting to know the child without speaking to them.
What is the primary role of staff members in a child care program? How should they adjust their interactions from the youngest children to the oldest?
The goal of Marie child care is to encourage your child to learn and develop at his and her own level. With guidance and understanding, they will gain confident of self-esteem. Also, they will have the opportunities to explore the world in the safe and controlled environment.
Compare and contrast a child from younger age group with a child from an older age group.
Each and every daycare has their own menu for the children’s breakfast and lunch. Through my observations, I have noticed that the “Don’t Worry Childcare” has a variety of food selections throughout the month. For example, the children could either choose from fruit loops cereal, or frosted flakes for breakfast. The children’s snacks eaten varies every day as well. For instance, the children ate milk and cookies one day, and cheese crackers another day. An example of lunch would be, milk, chicken fingers, French fries, green beans, and mixed fruit one day, and spaghetti, corn, peaches, and bread another day. I observed the children eat ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, and peaches one day for lunch. All those food options seemed very delicious.
My hypothesis was to determine the effects of maternal presence versus absence on sibling behavior.
Introduction I have chosen to do my case-study at a childcare center in Framingham. This center is owned by Staples Headquarters and run by childcare company Bright Horizons. They currently have 196 children enrolled which includes the following programs of Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten.
Residential childcare provides a wide range of services for people aged 12-18 years old. Many of the services that Residential Childcare provides are aimed at providing the highest standard of care for their service users, these services are derived for the individuals care plans. This includes meeting each individuals needs and taking into consideration the pace in which they develop and also their background. Residential childcare provides a service called “High Support” for young people where they have a sense of responsibility in dealing with their experiences to gain knowledge and understanding of their own behaviours and personalities. For example: Gleann álainn. Other services they provide for young people would be gaining respect, empowerment,
Child development and growth observation can be quite fascinating considering the uniqueness of each child. As children grow, they normally develop and acquire new skills whether complex or not. The abilities experienced by each child progresses differently that is it depends on the nurturing given by the parent or guardian and on the characteristics that they inherit. Proper development and growth of the child occurs when basic needs are provided by the reliable adult guardians, including such things as love, food, encouragement, shelter and warmth. The essay evaluates child development and growth through observation conducted by myself on my nephew. The essay will include physical development, general health, emotional development,
Observation is important as the practitioner can find out what the child is interested in and what motivates them to learn alongside their progress and how they behave in certain situations, additionally at the same time it identifies if children need assistance within certain areas of learning or socially (DCSF, 2008). Furthermore the observations check that the child is safe, contented, healthy and developing normally within the classroom or early years setting, over time the observations can be given to parents as they show a record of progress which helps to settle the parent and feel more comfortable about their child’s education. Observations are not only constructive within learning about an individual child, they can be used to see how different groups of children behave in the same situation and how adults communicate and deal with children’s behaviour (Meggitt and Walker, 2004). Overall observations should always look at the positives of what children can complete within education and not look at the negatives and all observations should become a fundamental part of all practitioners work alongside reflection (Smidt, 2009).
The reason I choose to do my paper on child care work is because it’s been something that I’ve been interesting in for a long time. I love being around children and helping them. Without child care workers single parents would have to worry about what will happen to their children while they are at work, or out for a special occasion. Child care workers are a need for some many people. I think it's important for people to know about what a childcare worker is and what they have to offer to help people out.
