-Introduction:
If your house or building was built after the 1920, the chances where that the external walls of the building were built too have a gap with no air in between them (Vacuum) or filled with a thick yellow mixture called Cavity Wall Insulation. Cavity Wall Insulation grants you the chance to save on heating bills, and keep your house warmer. Cavity Wall Insulation (Micafil Material) may be a bad conductor, however it is a great insulator, allowing us to keep our house warm in the inside, and not allowing the cold air to get into the house. In this essay i am going to be talking about why Cavity Wall Insulation is important in our daily lives, how it is installed, and how it makes our house quieter.
-Science Involved:
Science is involved in the whole process in many ways. The main reason being that the whole material (Micafil) is actually made from different minerals and chemicals (that only scientists and special testers are available for them), in order to make it as insulating as it is, and to grant it the chance for better insulation. Likewise, the installation of the insulation is actually put in by professional scientists, and specialist that work with Micafil everyday!
-Advantages:
Completely fireproof, non irritant and fiber free, ultra-lightweight Micafil, also known as Cavity has many applications. Easy to install, it is used all over the globe and extremely strong, Cavity Wall insulation plays a crucial role in order for humans and pets too be able to be warm and too stay out of the cold, Cavity Wall Insulation is found all over the world: buildings, houses, hospitals and even stores. Cavity Wall Insulation has dramatically made its way into our daily lives, for example, a research by The Guardian (Data ...

...to saving energy that would help and reduce global warming, what is more is that it would also help people reduce their heating and electricity bills, decreasing the taxes and making people more aware of how they should insulate their homes and buildings, for them to come out with the best result for the environmental problems faced today, and for them too save money.

Britain is currently undergoing the biggest overhaul of the welfare system since its introduction. The welfare system was first established with the assurance that people less fortunate would be able to have a standard of living that would ensure equality. But the recent amendments brought into place by the current government’s legislations may see the biggest divide between rich and poor since the days of the work houses. How will claimants be affected and who will be affected the most is an issue that will be examined more closely. The current government believes that Britain has become a welfare dependant state and according to BBC news (2013) 2.49 million are currently unemployed; those who are unemployed will also have entitlement to housing benefit and council tax benefit. All claimants will be affected by what will be known as Universal Credits. Universal credits will combine all existing benefits in to one payment; the amount a household can claim in welfare will be capped, this new system could have a catastrophic impact on people’s lives. Furthermore the government does not believe that a person should have full housing benefit if the home in which they reside has extra bedrooms, so introduction of the Bedroom Tax was implemented April 2013. The National Housing Federation website has given a detailed description of who will be affected and the implications it may have on tenants. But already only three months in to the bedroom tax and it has been reported “more than fifty thousand people have fallen behind on their rent and face eviction” Independent (2013). This report is going to concentrate on the affects the aptly named Bedroom Tax is having on people’s ...
Low-income households who cannot afford this large mark-up on rent can apply for housing benefit to make up the shortfall. Housing Benefit paid towards inflated rent prices to private landlords takes almost 95% of total UK housing spending, with only 5% of funds invested in house building (UN...
The protective packaging industry can be segmented three ways by use: positioning, block, and bracing; flexible wraps; and void fill. Coated (e.g., AirCap) and uncoated air bubble products serve the flexible wrap and void fill markets (refer to Glossary). The flexible wrap market, which dwarfs void fill as measured by annual sales, is of primary concern to Sealed Air and will thus constitute the focus of this report.

Studies have shown that big changes in temperature do not affect the capability of insulation. In one experiment, materials were set to a high heat of 300 degrees Celsius. After six months in this environment, the substances were cooled to room temperature. The dielectric constant showing the level of insulation had not changed ("Teflon PTFE fluoropolymer resin" 28).

There have been many means and methods in the past decade, fostered to ensure that the construction of buildings, complexes and many enormous structures are made with energy saving measures such as heat dispersal during the summer, and to also ensure the promotion of environmental sustainability such as the control of carbon emissions and greenhouse gases. And by the use of complex and highly innovative building materials like carbon fiber, such feet can be achieved.
Save on energy costs: If it has been many years since your attic insulation was installed, it may be starting to lose its ability to keep things insulated. Dust and moisture can both cause your insulation to compact, destroying the insulation's air pockets. If your insulation becomes compacted, the loss of these air pockets means that your insulation will no longer be as effective as it was when it was first installed. As a result, your furnace and air conditioner will each have to work harder to keep your home comfortable in the summer and winter. Fresh insulation will restore the insulative properties of your attic, allowing you to realize a potentially significant savings on your energy costs.

increasing the supply of renewable energy would allow us to replace carbon-intensive energy sources and significantly reduce U.S. global warming emissions… a 25 percent by 2025 national renewable electricity standard would lower power plant CO2 emissions 277 million metric tons annually by 2025—the equivalent of the annual output from 70 typical (600 MW) new coal plants (“Benefits of Renewable Energy
...empts at doing our part. But what is really needed is change at national and global levels. Only by convincing leaders to create laws that improve our energy policy, and pushing companies to adopt sustainable business practices on a global level, can we see real change. (EDF - Environmental Defense Fund , 2015) We need laws, polices, and infringes…..etc. whatever it takes in order to get our CO2 emissions under control. There are plenty of ways to improve on the current state of global warming like limiting global warming pollution, utilizing renewable energy, drive smarter vehicles, or even drive less. However small the action any change in our normal day to day can still help tremendously especially when done by a large number of people. We have to remember that this is the only planet we have and global warming is a global issue that needs to be taken seriously.
Human beings are susceptible to the force of nature. They had to make shelter for themselves. Material was one of the most basic tools to create shelter. By development of building construction, selection and use of materials also developed. The relationship between the architecture and the materials before invention of modern materials was simple and generally naturally [1]; in the past, architects always use tradition materials according their experimental skills. For choosing structural materials, they had attention to important factors such as availability (local materials) and harmony with climate and culture [2], although this way was forward with feedback. But this relationship was not continuing simply.
