Problem Statement
Worship in Pink is an educational outreach program founded by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of Greater Atlanta that provides breast health programs for faith-based organizations throughout the month of October (Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, 2017). Programs like this are created to improve breast health education in the community, which can help save many lives from breast cancer (Asuquo & Olajide, 2015). Worship in Pink provides religious program "toolkits" that incorporate breast health education, as well as breast health information wallet cards for members of the congregations, to any faith-based organizations interested in participating (Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta, 2017).

“Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” by Jonathan Edwards and “The Minister’s Black Veil” by Nathaniel Hawthorne are both 1700s Puritan works of literature with similarities, as well as differences, from their theme to tone and to what type of literary work they are. Edwards and Hawthorne are both expressing the topics of how people are all sinners, especially in regards to their congregation and that questions their congregation’s faith.
Lynn Peril writes a fascinating study of pink color and its historical connection to ideas and beliefs of femininity. Peril translates and defines Pink Think as collection of specific ideas, beliefs, and approaches of how and when is feminine behavior considered as proper. Throughout her book, Peril is pointing out various fundamental approaches and attitudes that are considered to be crucial for women achievements and accomplishments. Peril's Pink Think also advocates how greatest concern of femininity is related to women physical appearance (fashion and beauty) and their marriage (motherhood and housekeeper). Furthermore, Peril is demonstrating an evolution of femininity, and constant and intense impact of its norms and rules on women lives.
As children, we are often told stories, some of which may have practical value in the sense of providing young minds with lessons and morals for the future, whereas some stories create a notion of creativity and imagination in the child. In Karen Armstrong’s piece, “Homo Religiosus”, a discussion of something similar to the topic of storytelling could translate to the realm of religion. Armstrong defines religion as a, “matter of doing rather than thinking” (17) which she describes using an example in which adolescent boys in ancient religions, who were not given the time to “find themselves” but rather forced into hunting animals which ultimately prepares these boys to be able to die for their people, were made into men by the process of doing.

Today in California we are blessed with such diversity and ethnical outlooks that make this state what it is today. However, the diversity didn't just popped up out of the ground and grows. It has come from along line of dedication and work, through community and most of all church. Churches like Saddleback, First A. M. E, and now more recently Dream Center and many others. Technology is helping lead the way for many of these churches both new and old. The new ideas of the Southern Californian Protestant churches are beginning to liven up the churches with music, dance, and picture and paintings. Years ago they had paintings and color but not to the extent of this new era. Take mission San Juan Capistrano for example, it is a very well known church but, in this modern day it can't compete with churches like F. A. M. E.
The Color of Sin by Sherman and Clore discusses the relationship between sin being dirty and dark, and purity being white and clean. It details that white and black are not just analogical assertions but actual perceptions of moral purity and pollution. As the article states, “black is not just the opposite of white, but it is also a potent impurity that can contaminate whiteness.” Conversely, white is known to be an easily tarnished thing that to remain pure must remain unstained. White is therefore known to be a symbol for moral purity. These universal associations were so strangely believed, that they were tested using various methods. Research by Stabler and Johnson 1972, showed that kids typically tended to associate black boxes with negative contents and white boxes with positive objects. This association could be because black is the color of night, uncertainty, and
In the case study of Mary, many different action plans could be taken involving the Woman’s Resource Center. They have many services available and I am happy to be able to better understand their services and be have looking into what services may be in my area that could better serve my
Planning and implementing a breast screening event in a predominantly African American community is one way the ARPNs are able to address disparities in preventative care. The event needs to be publicized at local social centers, parishes and other religious establishments. APRNs should collaborate with local health care providers in order to ensure follow up care is available to address any clinical findings.

Thus, you should donate money and support this foundation because it is one of the top-rated charities in the United States. In any case, this foundation does great things to help people with breast cancer. Contributions to NBCF can help by using the money to provide the mammograms and other programs included in this organization. Financial offerings can help women detect breast cancer and have it treated early. Breast cancer has no cure, but NBCF can allow people to have a chance at life. It would truly help many people if you educated yourself, your friends and your family. Knowledge can mean everything in cancer diagnosis. Given these points, everyone should take action with this disease. Janelle Hail is now living her life as a cancer survivor and giving the gift of life through NBCF to all those who deserve to come out on

Most child dream of being superheroes. But Christine Enockson wanted to be a real world superhero, a teacher. Living in a small Wisconsin town, it was rare for there to be a child with special needs. Once Christine, or Chris as many people call her, discovered how school was different for these children, she passionately pursued a career to help those children. This passion led her to decide to be a foster parent. Throughout her life, Chris has made a difference in the lives of many children, including her own. Even though Chris has faced many hardships in her life, she continues to stay positive because of her faith. Chris’s help with special needs children and foster care have helped her faith cultivate and she is currently inspiring others
The program would target African American women because despite lower breast cancer incidence, they typically experience increased mortality as compared to Caucasian women. This can be attributed to African American women’s lower rates of mammography screening and tendency for later stage diagnosis. Breast cancer screening rates are also lower amongst women in rural areas, women of lower socioeconomic status, and women without health insurance coverage. The program would implement the utilization of lay health advisors (LHAs) to promote breast cancer screenings which is evidence-based and research tested. The LHAs will conduct culturally-appropriate small group educational sessions (10-15 women) and promote the program at intercept sites (i.e. grocery store, shopping center, etc.). A small media campaign will be simultaneously implemented, emphasizing the importance of screening and the availability of no-cost services for eligible women. The program will reduce access barriers by contracting with local partners (mobile detection unit) and evaluated by tracking and documenting the number of targeted women reached through education and outreach efforts, their change in knowledge (pre/post test) after exposure to the educational session, and the number of eligible women who take
This event involved coordinated efforts between administrators, faculty, and organizations such as the Women’s Center, and the Miami University College Democrats. There were multiple training sessions so volunteers could easily answer questions that interested students asked. Various clubs were everywhere on campus, in every quad and central location.
