Some daily duties of a nurse are administering medications, managing intravenous (IV) lines, communicating with doctors, and educating patients and the public on disease management, nutritional plans and medical conditions.
Taking a course in Nursing Assistant has encouraged me to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. The reason I took the HCA class was because I wanted to further my knowledge on nursing. From the beginning of the semester till know, I never thought that I’d have so much knowledge about the health care field. By doing hands on work, you gain experience that will never be taught in a textbook. I also took this class because

I plan to pursue a career in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. This career take many steps to complete. But it is different routes you can take and different programs you can enroll in for this profession. Family Nurse Practitioners can prescribe medication and diagnose patients and give treatment. They can work either in hospitals and or clinics as a primary healthcare provider. They can also order specific x-rays and test that need to be done for a patient. The nurse practitioners interact with less patients in a clinic than in a hospital. Np’s have privileges to prescribe medications in every state.
“Zachary’s attentiveness to Sunny had begun with no warning”(Joyce Carol Oates, 572), attentiveness without warning? What a mystery! So put on your detective hat and buckle up your shoes! Two unlikely candidates that knew of each other all their lives and were given numerous opportunities to connect, yet it is not until the second half of their senior year that Zachary dare breathe a word. If that is not the synopsis of a story written by John Green, I am unaware of what is. Why has Zachary chosen now to show an interest? I am currently planning to attend Richland Community college and graduate as a registered nurse. The reason I chose this career is because helping out others has always driven me forward. I want to study something that I know I will be content doing for the rest of my life and registered nursing is the right choice. Being a nurse has a many perquisites, but my choice has nothing to do with the advantages that it will provide me with. It is more about the fact that I have the chance to make people who are ill feel better and also to hel...
My interest in nursing is fairly new; I had not explored the potential that a nursing career can offer. I became familiar with nursing professionally after becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. While working with patients, side-by-side with nurses I became enamored with the potential of a nursing career. I now have a rewarding career working as a Medical-Surgical nurse on a Medical University Hospital floor that specializes in Transplant, Nephrology and Urology. Nursing encompasses the ideologies that fuel my passion, upon further research, and conversation with coworkers I realize my career goal of Family Nurse Practitioner; affording me the privilege to care for others by reaching out to various
A career in the medical field is always evolving, and always needing more hands. I knew from a young age that helping people is what I was meant to do, and from then on out every step I took was the way to a successful career in nursing. It is a profession that allows you to see people at their worst, all while helping them become their best. The most important task for nursing students is to create a clear pathway for our education, and to be sure to follow that plan accordingly. When choosing this career, I had to access my own strengths and weaknesses and really establish clear goals for myself and evaluate if I had what it takes to be a part of this diverse and skilled profession. I also decided not only not only do I need to set professional goals for this career, personal goals are important as well.
I have had the opportunity to care for wonderful individuals, each of whom have contributed the fabric of my personal nursing career. Nursing is a profession of both joy and sadness combined. My career has provided me the opportunity to care for those I need. In retrospect I can say that my personal nursing tapestry is comprised of patients who were grateful to a care team, after being revived from suffering a sudden cardiac event, the smile of a trusting child, a hand to be held while working with hospice patients and their families. My current role is a case manager. I seldom have direct contact with patients who have chronic illnesses, yet I am gifted with their trust. I have been given an opportunity to support, care, respect, educate, collaborate and research practice improvement initiatives. I continue to formulate my own nursing philosophy daily. While I experience daily encounters that allow my tapestry to become more colorful and detailed, I allow myself to set new goals. My final nursing goal, is to become a nurse practitioner. I can see myself in the next year working in an academic capacity in becoming a leader in rural health improvement and proficient at educating patients with diabetes and other chronic conditions, speaking at national events, advocating for patients and playing an active role in health policy. In five years I can see myself being ready to embark on another

It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Nursing is one of the highly demanding careers that bring new challenges every day and it comes with various rewards and a real sense of job satisfaction. I chose nursing because it is a profession where you never really finish learning. It has been my dream job since my tender age. Seeing nurses visiting my school treating students, immunisation, teaching us about health and sexual health issues, this encouraged me. My goal and desire at that age have been to help people within the Health sector. That is how; I decided to go to college where I am currently doing my Access to Higher Education Diploma (Science), which involves Biology and Chemistry. I chose this pathway because I want to gain the relevant skills and knowledge of my career to be. As someone who wants to become a nurse, I found biology as an important role in the delivery of client car...
I was always interested in pursuing a career in nursing because of my tremendous fascination with the medical field. My goal is to work in various different fields in the hospital to increase my skills. I started my education during my senior year and ever since, I have been taking the courses that will lead me to my goal. The human body always interested me because of the complexity of the physiology of each individual part. As a result of my strong desire of the medical field, I wanted to be the first person in my family to obtain a bachelor’s degree in a specific area, where there is also room for growth. My career goal is eventually returning to school after being a nurse for several years to become a nurse practitioner.
My studies of Bachelor Degree in nursing will provide the knowledge I need to be successful in my nursing career. In my previous experience in college, I learned basic knowledge and the necessary skills to work in a healthcare environment as a nurse. A nurse has a lot of specialties, each with its own challenges and achievements. For example, while I was in my internships for registered nurse, I discovered that I love to work with elderly people. Then, I choose to work in home health care, to provide professional and emotional support for those who care for us for many years and now need our understanding, love, and excellent patient care. My first experience was to work in a nursing home, assists patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers and ambulation, some of the fundamental tasks a nurse must know. Even though I confessed I was nervous because my professor was beside me evaluating my basic nursing techniques, I enjoyed the fact that I was helping the patient to feel comfortable and secure with my care. Later, during my nursing career I felt confident about my performance as a nurse. I learned that one
“What are your plans after high school?.”, This is a question that everyone is asked multiple times throughout the course of their lives. Sometimes it is just something that they themselves ponder in their own thoughts. What someone does after high school should be something that is not only interesting to that person, but will ultimately lead them into a career that they will loved and enjoy. A great career that is definitely worth considering is that of a paramedic. The job description of a paramedic is very broad and can have many affects on a person's life. But not only is this job greatly fulfilling to someone’s personal life, it is also very fulfilling to someone else’s life as well. It is a fast paced, adrenaline fueled job that requires more than the faint of heart. It requires a person who not only enjoys the thrill of the rush and a hard adrenaline pump, but is also content with
Did you know what you wanted to do after high school? Perhaps you did, but do you think that decision was the best one for you when looking back? I have always wanted to become a nurse since I was a little girl, seeing both of my grandmothers working in a hospitals and always helping everyone in need. My goals in becoming a nurse is just the basic foundation of just helping people who physically cannot help themselves. I want to be able to shed light in people's lives who are losing it because of their situation. I feel as nurses is the backbone in the hospital. The nurses are there day in and day out with the patients, holding their hands and walking them and their families throughout such a difficult time. Nurses are also their supporting the doctors and all other staff. I’ve found especially in these past few years that I want to spend my life helping others and that's what I can
