Working as a nurse can help you gain bonding skills, while working together to save an individual's life or to cure a disease. Also, all nurses know what they have to deal with, therefore it'll be just as much as a challenge for anyone as much as it would be for everyone else. Hospitals are not the only place that nurses take care of patients, they also work in schools, law firms, and insurance companies. Some nurses like to work full time, but part time or on call is always an option (Jennifer Wright). The only bad things that I nurse has to look out for is being exposed to all different types of germs and viruses. Nurses also have to deal with a lot of blood, so this is not your average clean job. A career in the medical field is always evolving, and always needing more hands. I knew from a young age that helping people is what I was meant to do, and from then on out every step I took was the way to a successful career in nursing. It is a profession that allows you to see people at their worst, all while helping them become their best. The most important task for nursing students is to create a clear pathway for our education, and to be sure to follow that plan accordingly. When choosing this career, I had to access my own strengths and weaknesses and really establish clear goals for myself and evaluate if I had what it takes to be a part of this diverse and skilled profession. I also decided not only not only do I need to set professional goals for this career, personal goals are important as well.
The career that I want to successfully accomplish is to become a maternal/child health and Neonatal Nurse. I order to become a maternal child nurse, I have to get my degree in nursing first. I want to take online classes while I am working at a hospital/nursing home. Going to Northwestern College, I would have to take medical terminology and nurse assistant classes to proceed in what I am trying to accomplish. In the class, Medical Terminology, you learn the knowledge of vocabulary of all the medical words and terms. In the Nurse Assistant class, you learn the skill in being a nurse.
