1. Do you consider this intern experience a success for you? Why? Can you share a memorable experience?
This internship experience has taught me that the teaching, pertaining to education, route as my career isn’t for me. The memorable moments I had were talking and

How has working for this company prepared you for future work or study?
Working with this company made me realize that this line of work isn’t for me. It was better to find out in this experience sooner than later like in college ie changing majors.
6. Describe how you demonstrated responsibility and self-management through your internship experience.
Being that the internship was leading 3rd graders throughout their activities I had to demonstrate maturity around the kids and hold a position of respect that the kids look up to.
7. What did you learn about your career aspirations? Due to this experience did your career aspirations change?
Like I said before my career aspirations completely changed due the experience I had in my internship. The realization came to me when all kids were surrounding me and begging me to stay with them longer. The fact that I was exhausted after everyday made me consider this as my career path in the future.
8. Have you been able to apply the knowledge gained in your classes to your internship
Therefore, I learned at the end of the interview that this career that I chose to pursue is very diverse. Meaning, there are endless routes, that branches out from this one field of study. The possibilities are endless; however, hard work is still expected. This interview did not reshape my objectives and goals. It has rather made me realize to stick to my goals and objectives. It has reminded me, to continue to be the best; by learning from the best and surrounding myself with the best.
The career I am currently pursuing is Dental Hygiene. I chose this career in senior year of high school. My algebra teacher inspired me to choose this career path. I always visited with her after class, because she was my favorite teacher and I learned a great deal from her. One day while visiting her, she spoke about her husband and her two dogs.
what I wanted to become. So after graduation I decided to explore my options at
Moreover, internships are great starting blocks for a career. Jeff McGuire explains how in today’s educational system, schools have specialized offices and employees whose primary responsibility is to help you...
I interned a cardiologist where I got to see the life of a physician as he went about his daily routine. I achieved getting my Certified Nursing Assistant license after assisting patients at a nursing home. I became a camp counselor for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where I took care of a 10-year-old child during a summer camp. Through these experiences, I gained confidence in my character and purposefulness. Furthermore, I went on a mission trip to Kenya where I experienced life in a third world country. It was here where my eyes were opened to see a world that is in dire need of help. These people are malnourished, living in detrimental conditions without accessible health care. The experiences I had in Kenya reminded me to never take anything for granted. My engagement acting on all these opportunities fueled my perseverance to pursue my career in health
For me, it didn’t click that I can turn these characteristics and skills into a career that I would enjoy until I started meeting regularly with my High School Counselor, Mrs. Corbin. I met with Mrs. Corbin once a day for about an hour in order to receive my community service hours that were required for graduation. Much like me, she has a passion for helping others and she carried me through my entire senior year. She would show my how to fill out college applications, help determine which college was the best fit for me, we spoke a lot about what major I should consider, and give me advice or just listen to what was going on in my life. She really inspired me to be on this path that I am today because I want to give others the help, love, and support she gave me. She recognized my desire to help others and “people person” skills and would always say “You’ll miss your calling in life if you don’t become some sort of counsellor”. That phrase always
The quarter has finally come to an end, and with that, I close out my internship and this class that went along with it. It was a great experience and I leave equipped with a new set of skills that are preparing me for the world ahead. As I write this reflection paper, I think back to the very first week when I set up two goals for myself to focus on and hope to achieve throughout the following weeks. My first goal was to develop a better understanding of myself within the work place, and my second was to develop a strong network to jumpstart my career. Both of my goals were achieved, however, I don’t feel that either of my goals will ever be complete. I believe that you can always formulate a better understanding of yourself, and you can always network to develop a stronger tree of connections. I know for a fact, however, that I reached satisfaction with both of my goals at this internship at MKI and know whole-heartedly that I did everything in my power to exhaust my resources in
It gave me a chance to apply the knowledges and skills that have acquired in the classroom over the past years and gain a real-world hands-on experience that I can use as stepping stone to advance my career. Thanks to this internship, I now have a better understanding of how the healthcare system operates, how insurance claim process works as well as navigate through electronic health record database without difficulty. In a nutshell, this internship gave me a firsthand exposure to the healthcare environment in addition to opening the doors of opportunities that allowed me to obtain an indispensable skills that would serve me for the rest of my
Throughout my internship, I was well trained and did receive a fruitful experience. The real working environment prepared me for future employment after my graduation. However, I did encounter some problems, which I gradually managed to deal with. Whatever happens, productivity increases by keeping a positive attitude.
The internship program that I had was a great experience to me. The internship is important for any student to improve his skills in his career. My internship program was a fantastic experience because I worked and visited many agencies and I learned impressive things about their ways to work. There are many things I would like to take them with me to Saudi Arabia and apply them there.
While participating in an internship, students get a great experience and they learn new qualities such as time management, reporting writing, communication skills, independence, and many more. These qualities were discovered by a few professors who did research in this field. They surveyed students on a 15-week internship in a 5-year diploma program. They questioned 478 students and 293 supervisors, and at the end they found out that an average of 14 skills are developed during internships. Through their research, these professors affirm that internships are valuable to professional development (Scholz, Steiner,
I was given the internship only being 20 years of age when in reality it was required that the intern be of 21 years or older. I learned the value of appreciating the opportunities I get in life and making a good first impression. For instance, in the beginning I was afraid to conduct a therapeutic group, but after the help of my two Youth Behavioral Specialists, who supervised me throughout my internship experience, I came into my "comfort" zone if I may say. As an intern, I understood that my internship experience helped cultivate my understanding of the differences in age, mentality, and the environment each child is exposed to that leads them to develop these moderate to profound acute psychiatric disorders. I also established that working in a school setting like the Children’s Home of Reading-Acute Partial Hospitalization Program was not the place for me. The reason for this was because I felt it was unfair to each child to not be able to get the clear, cut attention they deserve. For my next internship, what I’ve decided to do differently is to engage and interact more with my next Supervisor. In this internship, I did not have the opportunity to get to personally know my Supervisor because she was in meetings and/or intakes on existing or new clients etc. All I can do now is look forward to new experiences, new
My internship experience this semester was interesting. I interned at ESH/MESH with Bridgeway. My Supervisor was Emilie Banz. I didn’t do much but I did learn a lot from this experience. I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.
When life is perfect there is this feeling of overwhelming smiles. Like I want to scream or yell just because my life is so incredibly perfect. I felt this way the summer of 2002 at Lutherdale Bible Camp. But what is weird is that I don't know what makes it so perfect. Like what is the real difference from here to there? There I have this feeling of being so incredibly close to everything. As opposed to being to being in the real world, hearing and seeing what really goes on. When I was at camp I feel like I am really special. Like people wanted me to be there, and want to get to know me and just want to be around me. Of course I have plenty of friends and family at my house, but the people there are somewhat different. They make it seem like I am important.
ability to establish a professional work ethos as well as developing skills needed to maintain a work life balance. Through all the experiences gained from this internship, it has provided skills such as multitasking in a fast paced office setting, keen organizational skills, and improvement on communicating in a professional workplace as well as the ability to handle situations as they arise.
