One genre that was slow to start was Hip-Hop, while it emerged in the 1970’s it didn’t become significant until the late 1980’s. Although Classical music began to lose impetus, it gave way to a new generation of composers through invention and theoretical development. Hip-hop music is my favorite genre of music because the way I grew up I can relate to a lot of the things it portrays. I also enjoy R&B and gospel music because it is what listened to as a child. Some hip-hop artist I enjoy are Fabulous, Andre 3000 and T.I. because a lot of their music tells a story and gives life lessons. J Cole is my favorite hip-hop artist because he makes great music, he is a philanthropist and he uses his platform to speak and act on social issues.

Being on the cutting edge of bizarre, alternative music is an elite privilege, complete with buzz words to exclude the mainstream. The music makes or breaks the scene. One rave deejay explains to Rosen and Flick (1992), "A great rave or techno record is like a religious experience. A bad one will give you a headache
Disco, the music that everyone loves to "joke" about or "snigger" about had already been going on for 10 years when the first electronic drum tracks began to appear out of Chicago, Usa. A great Description of Disco can be explain to us like this.
The most significant down side to technology is the loss in revenue from album sales. Illegal downloading of music has become prevalent in today’s society, and many artists—major or independent—receive little to no profit from album sales. Many companies, such as Apple, have tried combating the issue with protected file formats, but a loophole has always been found to bypass the protection. Unsigned and independently signed artists hurt the most, as they pay almost everything out-of-pocket to produce their music. The only feasible response to the loss in revenue, artists have found, is to increase tour dates. In today’s age, it is not rare to find artists who tour more than eight months out of each year. Touring has become one of, if not the only, reliable source of income for many
Electronic music is generally broken into techno, house, trance, hardcore, breakbeat, and ambient music, along with affiliated smaller genres that float between categories, like trip-hop, electro, IDM, and others. Ambient is easily recognized by its separation from dancing, which is normally manifested in slower tempos and less distinct rhythms. Breakbeat (of which drum'n'bass makes up most of the faster genres, while there are slower genres as well) is distinguished by an emphasis on ways of dividing a bar of 4/4 time other than the standard one. (Notably, there is a focus on the second half of the third beat, though this comes about in various different beat patterns.) Hardcore (an important subset of which is called “happy hardcore”) is distinguished by its extremely fast tempos (generally over 160 bpm) in 4/4 time. House is distinguished by its focus on the second and fourth beats of 4/4, though it also shares many stylistic characteristics with disco, funk, and other popular musics, that help distinguish it from trance and techno. Of these, techno is generally not as fast (around 100-120 bpm) and tends to be more minimalistic, while trance is more melodic. House and trance are by far the most popular genres of electronica, though house tends to be more popular in clubs and trance more popular at the parties often known as “raves”.1
Electronic Dance Music, also known as EDM, has increased in popularity over the past few years. The spike in popularity has helped create a bigger industry for EDM event planners. For example, the founder and CEO of Insomniac (a popular EDM event planning company), Pasquale Rotella is worth ten million dollars alone. In the 2014 Electric Daisy Carnival trailer, Rotella said, “Finally, I’ve felt like we’re getting somewhere,” in regards to the popularity and impact of these festivals. Because thousands upon thousands of people attend these festivals and the fact that industry has grown immensely over the past few years, this musicking experience is very significant. Experiencing electronic dance music at the festivals is nothing like listening to it at home.

In 2012, “Less than one day, all of the tickets sold out and at some moments there were 2,000,000 people on the online waiting list.” The official sold out time was approximately 43 minutes. With Tomorrowlands extreme popularity, it’s become a desirable festirval for all top artists to take part in. The most popular EDM artist such as, Avicci, Demetri Vegas, and Arwin Van Burren have all taken part in the festival. It’s the largest platform, for up and coming artist it’s the golden ticket for putting your name out there gaining popularity.

Electronic music has been around since the late 60's and is now a very popular type of music among many poeple. My favorite genre of electronic music is Techno. Techno is a hard edge driven dance music that contains electronic sounds, high-energy, and a rhythmic beat. The sounds can range from simple beats of a drum to TV and movie dialogue or siren screams. Around 1986, there was a scene in Detroit which began spinning a futuristic kind of music. The DJ's began experimenting with electronic music and playing it in their clubs. This type of music slowly gained popularity and developed its own sub-genres and underground fan base. The term techno has been used in order to describe many kinds of electronic music.
The industry basically works by selling and buying; however, if the sales decrease there is a huge impact in the economic growth of the firms. There are many factors, which can affect the growth of the firm. The factors that affect the firm do not have a great impact in their growth; nevertheless, a factor that has recently surged is the music piracy, and it has become a negative externality. A negative externality “occurs when a product or decision costs the society more than its private cost” . Music piracy makes the music market loose billions of dollars in the US and even though it doesn’t impact the economy on a big much it has a small impact such as the increase of unemployment per year.
