He illustrated in the camera demonstration to explain why focusing on one thing could make someone miss other things; he said the way to see is by not watching, consequently, you can aware of everything. I think the artist just give a life lesson here while you focused on one specific aspect of life the rest of your life is passing by before you can notice. Nauman does not do work in the studio with repetitive activity, however, he spent lots of time thinking looking and then trying to find more efficient ways of doing things. Lots of Nauman work is accidental. He drove to look at Steven and Nancy Oliver property decided he wanted to build a stairway up to their house. He decided how he wanted to build the stair that will approximately run six hundred and some feet of horizontal distance and almost two hundred feet of vertical distance it come out almost three hundred steps. He was happy it requires a lot of discipline and close attention and he knew how traditional things are and he tries to change it a little bit. If I were to ask you what is art, and how can one find it? What would you say? Well if it were me being asked those question, I would simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design and it could be found all among us. You may define it differently only because art could be defined in many ways. I could simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design. Well according to an article written by Shelley Esaak, an art history expert she mentioned that art has a way of stimulating different parts of our brains to make us laugh or incite us to riot, with a whole gamut of emotions in between. She also mentioned that art gives us a way to be creative and express ourselves. [1]
James Nachtwey was born on March 14, 1948 in Syracuse, New York. He was a war photographer. The civil war was an inspiration for him to create photographs of war zones. James had happened to be in New York September 11, 2001, when the towers fell to ruble. He felt awkward being in cities, he often felt he needed to be on an assignment, taking photographs and documenting conflicts and what not. That morning he sat in his loft drinking his morning coffee while looking out upon the Brooklyn Bridge and crystal-clear sky the bluest he ever saw in a long time. A conditional piolet would call it "severe clear". The Bridge was golden lit from behind. The water taking on the angel like color of the sun as the light spread across the surface. From the
Art by definition is the conscious production or arrangement of sounds, colors, forms, movements, or other elements in a manner that affects the sense of beauty, specifically the production of the beautiful in a graphic or plastic medium. Whether it was shown visually or musically, the arts of the twenties were reflective of the time period. Even in books, the extravagance that people lived in was evident.

Adam Nussbaum’s profile as a drummer gained significant recognition when he stinted/recorded with Steve Swallow, John Abercrombie, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, and John Scofield, among many others.
Poet Gwendolyn Brooks states, “Art Hurts. Art urges voyages - and it is easier to stay at home” which is true for many viewers when experiencing Bruce Nauman’s work. Nauman is classified as a contemporary American artist whose works also incorporate ideas of post-modernism and minimalism. He has been making art since the early 1960’s and has moved through many different mediums as his art progressed and his style changed. At first Nauman was a painter who soon ended that career and turned to sculpting, photography, film, and video. Bruce Nauman’s works of art have interested me and inspired my final assignment by his professional legacy, inspirations, and techniques.
The definition of art has always been a wondering question throughout the centuries. Even our discussions in class lead back to the meaning of art and the individual viewer. The author Cynthia Freeland in But Is It Art? reviews and examines the diversity of both art theory and art. Most of the theories she examined from the different eras and cultures fell short. None of the theories were successful in defining the definition of art. Cynthia states, “Art enhances our awareness of both ourselves and our world. Unlike scientific theories, a theory of art does not predict what artists are going to do next. Art theory as I have described in this book is still an explanatory enterprise. Art is something special (Freeland 208). Cynthia Freeland realizes she cannot categorize art, but believes that art will always be diverse!

What is art? By definition it is, “An occupation requiring knowledge or skill” (Merriam). Many people would argue that late artist Jackson Pollock’s work would not go under this category. But Pollock’s paintings were not random splats and splashes, but carefully planned and expertly executed works of art.
Famous artist Pablo Picasso once said, “There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who, with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into sun.” Art is something that is completely subjective and can be viewed or interpreted in such a vast number of ways. Someone may find something aesthetically pleasing, where another person may feel it is meaningless and hideous. That, however, is the true beauty of art. Through different interpretations and meanings, we are able to relate to art in many ways. The true nature of art is something that cannot simply be explained in a few sentences, but needs a deep analysis to realize the value and appreciation of it. The nature of art is any
What is art? That is the debatable question. Does the piece present a message? Does it have to be complex? Does it have to create an emotion? Is aesthetic appeal the only requirement? This paper consists of several opinions as to what art is.
Art can be defined in many ways by an individual. One can say that any creative output by a person is considered art. Others contend that art must conform to a societal standard and the basis of the creation should be understood by most intellectual people. For example, some contend that computer-generated images, such as fractals, are not art due to the large role played by a computer. E.O. Wilson states “the exclusive role of the arts is to intensify aesthetic and emotional response. Works of art communicate feeling directly from mind to mind, with no intent to explain why the impact occurs” (218). A simple definition may be that art is the physical expression of the ideals formed by the mind.
