My Hero
My hero is Paul walker also known as Brian o’conner , he is a character that plays in one of my favorites movies Fast and Furious. There is a total of 8 movies in the series , he was only able to be in 7 of them because he died in a car crash during the making of the 7th one which he didn't really get to finish it , they used his brother to play his character. Brian o’conner is my hero becuase i like the way he is, I feel like we have a lot of stuff in common. He likes cars , he likes to feel the adrenaline of speed and his favorite cars are some of my favorite cars. He likes to be around his family. Brian o’conner is also my hero because he does what he thinks is right , he
Sports fans look up to athletes and inspire to resemble their favorite athlete. Peyton Manning inspired fans, by revolutionizing the quarterback position. Likewise, Tim Duncan entertained fans, by playing at a consistent level of greatness night in and night out. In addition, Joe Montana was the master of the comeback, leading his team for game-winning touchdowns under the most pressure. All of these amazing Hall of Fame players´ only possess a few of Tom Brady's traits that made him the greatest football player of all time. Thus Brady inspires many people to compete and be the best they can be, he also brought hope to sports fans which made Tom Brady a hero.
I picked Derek Jeter as my person for a lot of different reasons. One of them is that I feel like I can connect with him. I love baseball just as much as he did. I admire him in how humble he is. Even with all of his world series rings, he never gets cocky. Derek Jeter taught me that no dream is too big if you work hard and are determined.
...of people look at Walter Payton as one of the greatest running backs of all time, but in my eyes he was also an inspiration, and a role model.
To summarize, Tony Hawk is an incredible athlete and hero to many around the world. He has achieved many of his goals and encourages others to do the same. He has gone from skateboarding as a young child on a ramp in his driveway to some of the biggest skate parks all around. Though Hawk is retired, he will always be known as one of the greatest. Many look up to him not only for what he does but who he is.
The character of Jerry Renault can easily be classified as a hero in my opinion. Jerry stands up for what he believes is right and says no to Brother Leon.
Do you watch football? If so I am sure you have heard of the Green Bay Packers, and if you have heard of them, i’m sure you know who Aaron Rodgers is. I believe he is a hero and have research to back it up… but do you? Throughout history, many heroes have affected society for the better. Aaron Rodgers is a significant hero. This is seen through his passion, determination, and leadership skills. While he may not be saving lives, chasing bad guys, or changing the world he holds many heroic traits that I think should qualify him for being a hero, as he is too many people.
Nolan Ryan will be my choice of a classic modern day hero. One of the firsts of a hero's characteristic is that he performs "Outstanding Deeds". On page thirty-five in Beowulf "Higlac's brave follower tearing out his hand of the monster, his hatred rose higher but his power has gone." So to me that could be called an outstanding deed. Now Nolan Ryan is not a War hero but a baseball player. He was forty-five at the time and he had thrown 5,511 strikeouts, witch is a record that will not be broken anytime soon. Another way to be called a hero is to give great speeches. On page 31 of Beowulf "Hail Hrothagi............." Beowulf is very good at this but on the other hand Nolan Ryan is a very humble man. So he never really gave speeches. The third characteristic of a hero is to boast about his feats. Beowulf does a good job of boasting in this next line in Beowulf on page 31, "And I am stronger than anyone in the world." To me that is a very big boast on Beowulf's part. Now for Nolan Ryan he is a very modest man and never had any reason to boast about anything, his numbers did the talking for him. Now the last of the of characteristics that is that he descended from Royalty. Now on page 31 in Beowulf, "Higlac is my cousin and my King." Now on the other hand Nolan Ryan's position in baseball had nothing to do with his family. He was noting more than a country boy from Alvin, Texas.
Heroes, the unordinary beings with extravagant abilities, from powers and competence to skills and talents. Heroes are people who are idealized by society for their courage and individuality. Iconic and well recognized heroes like Hercules, Superman, Spiderman and Achilles are some of the few heroes known around. All heroes have a similarity to each other, for example Beowulf and Batman. While both can be considered great heroes, they differ significantly, yet are similar in other ways.
“Intellect had run up against emotion. My conscience told me to run, yet some irrational and powerful force was resisting, like a weight pushing me toward the war. What it came to, stupidly, was a sense of shame. Hot, stupid shame. I did not want people to think badly of me.” (Tim O’Brien; On the Rainy River).
I consider a hero someone that has done great things. There are different opinions in what a hero is but to me , being a hero is one who accomplishes hard goals, standing up for their own rights, doing things that are extraordinary. Muhammad Ali-Cassius Clay is someone that fills my standards of a hero. Muhammad Ali has accomplished hard goals by getting medals in the Olympics. Muhammad Ali had to stand up for his rights when he started to box. He has accomplished things in his life that would be very hard for me to accomplish. Muhammad Ali has done things that I think are very magnificent. The thing Muhammad Ali has done makes him a hero to me.
A hero is defined as someone who is acknowledged for their courageous and selfless behavior or actions. Clint Eastwood’s character Walt Kowalski, in the film Gran Torino is a stellar example of this definition of a hero. Walt was more than a decorated war hero; he helped his neighbors and community. Eastwood’s character generated opportunities for Thao, a young man who didn’t have a father and lacked guidance. Walt saved Thao’s sister, Sue from an unfavorable situation as well as gave his own life to protect her and her family from a local gang. Walt proved throughout various stages of his life that he was selfless and willing to do the right thing no matter the situation. Walt did whatever it took to preserve peace and save his friends and community from harm. No matter the circumstances Walt’s morals and integrity would not falter. His actions would be above and beyond the average man’s. The movie highlights certain heroic events in Walt’s adult life beginning with his service in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Movies have evolved a great deal since the days when a couple fighting scenes and a small love story satisfied audiences. Today movie plots are much more complicated and have much more action, thanks to modern day technologies. Although these new technologies seem to make movies increasingly complicated, some crucial roles in movies will never change. One thing that has remained constant in the film industry is the role of the hero. No matter what the genera of the film and or when the film was made the hero’s always share similar characteristics and are put through similar series of tests to prove their heroism. When these tests are completed it seems to pull everything together in their films. Although the hero Shane in the movie Shane and the hero Ripley in the movie Aliens are from two separate generas and are also from separate time periods, the hero’s in each movie share characteristics and are put through similar tests that make them, in theory, one in the same. Heroic characteristics start to become evident right from the start of each of the movies.
Webster’s New World dictionary gives one definition of a hero as “the central figure in any important event or period, honored for outstanding qualities.” Anyone you ask can name someone they view as their hero (from a parent, sports figure, fictional superhero, to a movie star) but very few people would actually define the word hero the same. A good general definition of a hero is a person who is idealized or admired for outstanding achievements, courage, bravery, noble qualities, and unselfish acts for others (Goins, 2012).
When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today.
My hero is my dad. He is my superman. He is my leader. My dad is a dad who motivates me and keeps me going, even when I want to give up. He is there for me when I don’t want to try anymore and he always keeps me going. Of all the heroes in the world, my dad is at the top of the list.
