On the night of August 17, 2006 volunteer firefighter Brandy Hall showed up for her scheduled night shift. She was seen talking to a man named Randall Richmond and it has been reported that after using the phone she had to leave without working her shift (Pavul, 2011). This is the last time anyone sees or hears from Brandy Hall. The following day, a fisherman was at the Treeland Blvd. pond when he spotted some stuff floating in the water. Upon closer inspection he noticed it was firefighters gear and figured something must be wrong since firefighters do not just leave their equipment. The police had the pond drained and found a green Chevy truck at the bottom. Inside the truck was a substantial amount of blood; when the blood was tested it was that of Brandy Hall. The amount of blood in the cab of the truck makes it unlikely she will be found alive. The woods around the pond were also searched but nothing more was found. The police investigation began with finding out who Brandy Hall was, who were her friends and family. Usually when a wife or girlfriend go missing or are murdered the people closest to the person are suspects. Brandy Hall was a wife, a mother and a volunteer. She was married to the former Fire Chief of Osceola County, Jeff Hall. They had two children. She was 32 years old and physically fit; over 5 ft. tall and weighed roughly 130 lbs. When looking into Mrs. Hall’s record they found that she was arrested in July 2005 for suspected involvement of a grow house on one of the Hall’s property. At the time of the arrest she was working for Palm Bay Fire Department, she was employed there for the past 11 years. After she was arrested she was fired and began volunteering at the Malabar Fire Department (Pavul, 2011). ... ... middle of paper ... ...al search of the pond. “On October 21, 2012 Sergeant William Butler and Officer Samantha Brown stopped a car in the 2000 block of East Street for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. In the course of the car stop it was determined the driver was Jeffery Cox. According to the DMV registration information, Mr. Cox owned the car. Sitting in the car front passenger seat was Amanda Watson. When the officers checked on any outstanding warrants on the occupants of the vehicle, they received a positive response on Ms. Watson. Police arrested her based on an outstanding arrest warrant for misdemeanor shoplifting. When Ms. Watson was ordered out of the vehicle to be handcuffed Sgt. Butler noticed a plastic bag of a substance he suspected to be crack cocaine lying on the front seat where Watson had been sitting. Incident to the arrest on the warrant, Sgt. On June 7th 2008, Sarah May Ward was arrested for the murder of Eli Westlake after she ran him over in a motor vehicle in St. Leonards. Prior to the incident the offender had been driving the wrong way down Christine Lane which was a one way street. Whilst this was occurring she was intoxicated, under the influence of marijuana, valium, and ecstasy and was unlicensed to drive. The victim and his brother who were also intoxicated, where walking down the lane and where nearly hit by the offender. This prompted the victim to throw cheese balls at the car and make a few sarcastic remarks regarding her driving ability. After a brief confrontation between the two parties the victim and his brother turned away and proceeded to walk down Lithgow Street. The offender followed the victim into the street and drove into him while he was crossing a driveway.
We were presented with many facts that all pointed to Mr. Washburn as the murder. In the house all of the entrances were thoroughly inspected by authorities, and they found no sign of ransacking. “[They] examined all the locking mechanisms, all the doors and windows. In [their] opinion there was no evidence of any forced entry” (P.81). When police looked for fingerprints, “They were all of the Washburn family and the maid” (P.81). There was no trace of an outside party; somebody usually in the Washburn house committed the murder. While in the living room, an officer found a drop of blood. The evidence technician was called the next night to run some tests. “He sprayed the living room carpet with luminol. It is a luminous spray, and when it comes in contact with blood it illuminates” (P.82). To both men’s surprise the whole living room was illuminating. After spraying further the men found a trail from the living room through the kitchen to the garage. In the closet the men found a wet mop, which was tested for blood and also came back positive. Somebody tried to clean his or her bloody mess, and try to save himself. The physical evidence proves the killer was somebody who was familiar to the Washburn household.

Sara Borkholder’s life is certainly dedicated to helping others. While her recent day jobs have included a stint at Yellow Creek Daycare in Goshen and working at the local hospital there as well. While both of these positions are commendable, what is more shocking is her dedication to public service outside of working hours. Starting about three years ago with certification training at Ivy Tech, Sara became an EMT, an Emergency Medical Technician working on a volunteer basis for Nappanee’s Emergency Medical Services. While the position is volunteer in nature, Sara is still sometimes asked to remain on call for stints that last twenty-four straight hours.

Of realities and coincidences in the happenings of lifetime events in the lives of two different people, it is hard to dispute the reasoning that situations can be so similar in people’s lives that it is easy to conclude that these people share a life. This phenomenon may be referred to as doubles. Some behavioral scientists may pinpoint meta-physics as the possible explanation to a person having the same feelings as another. From a metaphysics point of view, some happenings that seem like coincidences are actually not. They are natural happenings only that they are beyond human understanding. For instance, in Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel, Mrs. Dalloway, two characters, Clarissa Dalloway and Septimus Smith, have similar world views even though they are two different people who are not even known to each other. Ralph Samuelson maintains that the novel is about “life and death, sanity and insanity and is to be a criticism of the social system of England” (Samuelson, 60).
