Everyone wants to be successful but success depends on individual mindset. In the article Brainology, Dr. Carol Dweck’s explains that growth and fix mindset play role in students success. Growth mindset students aren’t afraid of failure, they embrace challenges and believe that efforts are what lend to success. Growth mindset individuals and students believe that mastery comes from failures and efforts. Fix mindset students is afraid of failure and don’t like challenges. Fix mindset students and individuals normally give up easily, when there is a difficult challenge. Fix mindset students believe that intelligence is a natural gift while growth mindset students believe that intelligence is earned by effort.

Angela Duckworth from Ted Talk started that grit is the Secret to success. According to Duckworth grit are passion and perseverance. Students need passion and perseverance with a growth mindset in order to succeed. Michael V. Miranda started the seven false beliefs of underprepared community college students. All the seven false beliefs come from different aspects of community college students however I believe that all the false beliefs it’s connected with the growth and fix mindset of students. False beliefs number three “ All I have to do to get a good grade is to prove that I try my best. ( page. 572)” and false beliefs number one “ As long as I do not exceed the maximum number of absences permitted I will do just fine pass the course. ( page. 571)”.
