Brain Farts
Brain farts are very common and happen to everyone. In fact, by the time the most people reach the age of 65 they will be having brain farts at least once a day. (The Science Behind Brain Farts, 2015) A brain fart is a temporary mental lapse or failure to reason correctly. Scientists call brain farts the Tip-of-the-tongue syndrome or TOT. There are a lot of examples that happen to us every day. We all have forgotten someone’s name but feel like we know it and we come so close to remembering it that it is as if it is on the tip of our tongues. While trying to remember it, we may use acoustic or semantic cues to help us. Semantic cues are relating stuff to meaning, while acoustic cues are sounding out words or phrases to help you remember it. (Rathus, 2010, pg. 190) Brain farts can be caused by age, event boundaries and anxiety.
First age is a reason why we have brain farts. Research shows that the older we get, the more brain farts that we have and the younger we are the less brain farts we have. Studies have shown that people between the ages of 18 and 22 have brain farts about once or twice a week while older adults are having brain farts twice as much

It can be something like not remembering where you left your car keys. All the brain slip ups can be brought back to something that you are doing or experiencing in your life. It can because you are getting older, have anxiety or even something as simple as walking through a door. Research has shown that there are more common causes of this syndrome but those are the main causes. We all hate having the tip-of-the-tongue syndrome but there are ways to get around it. You can try focusing on your task more or even reduce your anxiety levels. However, there is still research being done about this subject and scientists are not sure of all the causes of brain farts. No matter what you do, sometime in your life you are going to experience a brain
The cartoon of the yellow sponge living in a pineapple under the sea was never meant to be a kid’s show. Au contraire, the show was meant to air on Adult Swim, a television network for viewers 16 years and older. The Sponge had a test run, but because of the low rating it was transferred to the kids’ networks. Of course, our dear children, innocent and ignorant of the hidden message inside the moving images, loved it. In this case “Bikini Bottom” is SpongeBob’s home town, an inappropriate name of a setting for a children’s cartoon. This shows that the transition of the show from Adult Swim to Nickelodeon had no change on SpongeBob Squarepants, whatsoever. Meaning, many other sections of the show are likely not meant for children’s eyes or ears. This show is degradation for young minds and their mental and physiological development and should not continue to be aired.
On Farting by Hiraga Gennai gives the reader a perspective into the world of various arts in the Edo Period. Not only are we shown what is meant to be a proper practicing of the arts through his satirical character, Crankshaw Stonington Esquire, but he counters this claim that the arts were then lacking in life, passion, and ingenuity. They had become boring and outdated without any creativity being brought forward. To prove this he sings his praises for a fart artist, and engages in a lively debate about what truly marks art as meaningful and how a change to the traditions would improve the civilization. However passionate, his argument may not be effective enough to change the minds and ways of those who revel in the traditional.

Have you ever forgot something, but you never knew you forgot it? Like it just slipped your mind and instead of going somewhere that you can remember, it dies in a bottomless pit. Your parents remember and your older siblings remember, but you do not. You were too young to remember it. Completely normal, everyone has gone through this. Astronauts, great philosophers, and even celebrities have gone through this. Kristen Ohlson, a freelance writer who has written several books and articles, wrote about this in her article the great forgetting.

For example, if you were to start cooking something and walk away to do something else and forget about it, it could easily catch on fire and damage personal property and maybe even cause injury or death. I can recall my own experience of short-term memory loss. A lady in our community was frying bacon and left her house and forgot to turn the burner off. Tragically, her youngest daughter was trapped inside the house and perished in the fire. This is an example of how important short-term memory loss can be.
It is shocking how often you can catch yourself having an involuntary memory when you are looking for them. Throughout the week of my recording of twelve memories, I had
From a scientific standpoint, silent farts often smell worse. It may surprise you to find out that a large portion of farts are the result of swallowed air. Whether from chewing a lot of gum, drinking pop, or simply from eating food, excess air enters your body and has to exit somewhere. While some is released through burping, the rest ends up in your digestive system and comes out your other end. However, when expelled, this gas is mostly made up of nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide, all of which are odorless. This explains why some farts are obnoxiously loud, but contain little to no smell. The second half of the equation is gas from the large intestine. After traveling through 25 feet of small intestine, the indigestible portions of
The brain is an amazing thing, but it’s also such a weird thing. We just have this 3 pound ball of nervous tissue inside of our skull that helps us walk, talk, move, solve problems, write, read, imagine impossible situations that will stress you out at 4 AM , feel emotions, stores memories, and so many other incredible things.
Many theories exist attempt to explain the cause of stuttering. However, the cause is still somewhat of a mystery. Some believe that stuttering is a result of left hemisphere dominance (Travis, 1931). It has also been hypothesized that stuttering is a result of a lack of an internal monitoring process (Kolk and Postma, 1997). Many other theories
One night your best friends invite you over for pizza and to play some card games. While enjoying the pizza and games certain parts of your brain are still functioning to make sure things run smoothly. The four areas we will focus on are Broca’s area, the hippocampus, the hypothalamus, and the occipital lobe.
Brain Development is a nonstop development, we never stop learning so our brain isn’t going to just stop I mean well when it’s our time, but it won’t as long as you continue to learn and grow. The human brain begins to develop as early as three weeks after conception. But our brain development is a lifetime process. It doesn’t just stop developing at a certain age. There is a difference in brain development in children and adults the early life is impressionable then in the maturity aspect of life. This is a positive thing because as children they learn new thing they’re open to new and exciting things but then again it can be negative because children tend to be vulnerable to development problems. Our brain develops not only from nurture
Frontal Lobe Syndrome Although volumetrically the frontal lobes are the largest portion of the brain their function remains somewhat elusive (Jacobs, 2005). Even neuropsychologists have a difficult time creating test that accurately test frontal lobe functioning. We do know however, that the frontal lobes are involved in the storage of memories, concentration, abstract thought, judgment, and self control. The frontal lobe lies directly behind our forehead (NINDS, 2005)
“Everything that enters the senses needs to be interpreted through the brain -- and these interpretations occasionally go wrong,” he said.
Like you I am a light worker in search of Truth. It has been a life long journey. One guru, several religions, three husbands, two kids and three careers later, I have discovered that I Am that Truth. I Am one in sync with Universal Intelligence. Soren Kierkegaard said, “Life is understood backwards but it must be lived forward.” We are all on a life mission to connect with Divine Intelligence and everything we experience is on purpose. We emphatically feel the struggle of living in these human bodies as the constant sweet voice of Divinity whispers the Truth of who we are in our inner ear. We must first see it, feel it and experience this truth before we can share it with the world.
