Classes I am doing well in is Biology. I think I am doing well in Biology class because I complete all my work and turn it in on time. I meet the biology teacher's expectations such as completing the warm-up and taking notes. I will continue doing well in this class by continuing to complete my work and participate more to verify things in her class that I may not understand. The Habit of Heart and Mind that I use in this class Care because I really like biology class and it intrigues me to want to learn more, so I put all of my dedication to my work in Biology.
Another class that I am doing well in is English. I think I'm doing well in English class is because I pass all my test and quizzes with a perfect score. I also think I'm doing well in this class is because I complete all the necessary work in his class. I will continue to do well in his class by studying every time there's an assessment. The Habit of Heart and Mind I use for this specific class is Confidence because I'm usually don't understand things that the teacher say or do, so I would raise my hand (even though I'm really scared to ask him) and ask him to clarify.

I think I am doing well in this class is because I always complete my exercises on Khan Academy and pass all the quizzes he has been currently giving us with a good score. I will continue to do well in his class by studying everyday before a quiz so I can understand how to solve a problem that could appear on the test. The Habit of Heart and Mind I've been using for his class is Think because when doing problems in his class, I think intensively so I can understand what to do in order to find the
16. Describe two evolutionary consequences if the process of crossing over in meiosis ceased to occur. If crossing over in meiosis ceased to occur there would be less genetic variations and no diversity among a species. This would essentially mean that a species would not be able to adapt to an issue that could arise in the future, meaning that its species could potentially become extinct due to climate change or other arising events.
This course and as in Honors Biology, we were taught in a more oneself teaching rather than a lecture. I like the idea of not having a lecture, but when the teacher took a day to do a quick overview of each chapter, I learned the material and understood the material the best. I wish that we had that in each unit because I truly do like biology and when I understand a new concept fully it made me feel 10 times more comfortable on the test and the
Most of our data supported the hypothesis. The average DO concentration is 8.3 ppm, which is between the optimal range of 8 – 12 ppm, suggesting that the aquatic organisms have a rather healthy life with abundant amount of oxygen provided to them. The average temperature is 20, which is rather cool considering that the river was exposed to sunlight and the actual temperature we felt on that day. But it is also reasonable, since the river was flowing swiftly due to the windy weather, which reduces the amount of sunlight it absorbed. Also there were trees near the river that provided shade for the river, and we got the sample from the shaded area. The average alkalinity level is 120.8 ppm, which exceeds 80 ppm, indicating a well-buffered stream.
When looking at not just this class but all of my classes and looking at how I have been approaching them versus how I should approach them it definitely puts my mind in a different perspective because I am a person that “strives for excellence” and if I am able to “ace” a class then I definitely try and do that but a lot of the time that doesn’t mean sitting there and actually learning the information it means
As the instructor in my classroom, I am responsible for making sure that my students reach the highest possible level of understanding in the subject area that I teach.
When I was younger I always found myself interested in science of all varieties. In elementary school, I aspired to be a scientist, but I was not sure what career path to take. In 10th grade, I found myself in Pre-AP Biology thinking that biology, although fascinating and complex, made perfect sense to me. I took AP Biology during my Junior year and felt that same pull. I loved biology and was certain that I wanted to study biology in college. My big question was what could I possibly do with a Biology degree.
This I find to be a great accomplishment, because the out of class work load has been insane! Two or three hours everyday was dedicated to homework just for this class alone. I 'm still not quite sure how I managed, but the ride is almost complete. I also think I have done well with note taking. My notes have become more organized and structured so that when I look back on them I am able to easy recall what was said or understand what I was thinking during the time. I have also learned how to write decent essays within a short period of time. My essays are typically of average quality compared to the people in this class, however, compared to the average person outside of this room, my essays are fairly good. Besides these technical improvements, this class has helped me in my personal life. It has brought questions into my life about whom I am as a person, society, government, religion, spirituality, and so much more. From this class it is certain that I have learned a lot, but I have learned one of the greatest lessons in life, how to
As time flew by, I was struggling with classes like Anatomy & Physiology and Organic Chemistry given that they were both a lecture class. I was used to smaller classes, and more one on one time with the professor. Challenges, setbacks, and weaknesses like learning how to study on your own and managing your time were what caused me to struggle a lot. However, I still haven't given up on myself in fact, I have been getting better at finding alternatives to better understand my classes. Therefore, although I still find myself struggling a little bit with classes, I will continue to volunteer as much as I can to help increase my success and chances for becoming a
While taking bio 101 I was caught cheating during an exam. This exam required no outside materials and I used my test review in another window for help on two exams. I didn't use it entirely, but I did use outside resources. I had a hearing where I acknowledged my actions and took full responsibility . In the hearing I was asked a series of questions which I answered truthfully and to the best of my knowledge.
This class has challenged me and has taken me the next level when it comes to performing better. I have attained understanding of
Have you ever had an event in your life change your perception on someone or something? That happened in my life, while I took my Anatomy and Physiology class. I had never known what I wanted to do in my future. I never even had an area of study that truly interested me, interested me enough to possibly want to work on it for the rest of my life. All through my earlier school years I always thought that science was about rocks, space, earth, and animals. Science was always my least favorite subject due to that and I never thought that I would ever love it. When I took the Anatomy and Physiology class, my paradigm shift happened. Due to that class I have figured out that I want to have a future in Radiology and that I love health/human body
I believe that being positive is one of the most important things when it comes to any class, but mostly math. Math is a subject that requires a high amount of paying attention and listening, so having a positive outlook towards the class is important towards success. I sometimes get down on myself after I underachieve in a test and I start saying that I can’t succeed in the class or that I’m simply just not good at math, but what I should do is actually get motivated and try to do better on the next test or assignment. I also need to realize that I am now more mature than I was in High School and I should attempt to study as much as possible in order to assure myself a good grade in the class. Giving the course a fair chance and just being
THAT ONE CLASS THAT LIKES TO BITE ME IN MY BUTT… SOCIAL STUDIES! Then one of my favorites, Science. Social Studies C- to an A+, Science A+ to a B-. With me it’s one or the other, never both as I need. As I sit in class wondering how will I ever become a Pharmacist with grades like this and Abraham Lincoln smacking me upside the head?
In the fall of 2018, I attend my freshman year of Gonzales High School located in Gonzales. The course that I enjoyed the most was English, which was taught by my favorite teacher Mr. Beutler. The reason why I enjoyed my English period was because we read a variety of stories and we wrote a couple of narratives. The course that I least enjoyed was Biology because although I understand and like learning about science, I found it boring compared to my other classes. Abilities I have acquired during school have been learning to research information for a project and organizing events for clubs. To add, skills I used during school was time management to get homework and studying done. To give more information, achievements I have obtained in the
This year has changed me a lot. Coming to college, leaving my parents, and leaving Trinidad has been very different for me. My life has changed a lot and I have changed a lot, but thankfully in mostly good ways. This class has been one of my most knowledge ones. Although this class has defiantly not been one of my highest grades, I feel like its one of the classes I have learned a lot in. I have bitter sweet feelings about that, because in some of my classes I ended with and A or B, while this one it felt like a struggle the entire semester to keep my grade up, however, I fell like I have learned more information that will stick with me from this class than from others.
