THAT ONE CLASS THAT LIKES TO BITE ME IN MY BUTT… SOCIAL STUDIES! Then one of my favorites, Science. Social Studies C- to an A+, Science A+ to a B-. With me it’s one or the other, never both as I need. As I sit in class wondering how will I ever become a Pharmacist with grades like this and Abraham Lincoln smacking me upside the head? Pondering myself, I start to think again... While I do have to go watch my six other siblings play sports every day, help around the house, do homework, and whack my sister a couple of times, I could study the same amount for all of my classes. I could take the time afterward to study extra hard in my two most difficult classes. I could study with friends at lunch and review with Sojourner Truth on the bus. I could annoy my brothers a couple of times with …show more content…
Eventually, they will all go home, that’s when Jackie Robinson will come to help and remind me that the barrier between me, my classes, and being a pharmacist needs to be broken down, just like he broke the racial barrier stopping him from playing in the major leagues. I could be just like him. I will be just like him. I will study with commitment, everyday as much as I can, I will have courage, determination, persistence, and excellence to keep fighting my way on through my barrier. I will use teamwork, citizenship, and integrity to help my friends, peers, and myself get through our classes. I will help anyone, even if society says not to, because they deserve justice, friends, and someone to help them show everyone else that the societal food chain doesn’t matter, and that we are all equal. Just like what Jackie Robinson did many years ago, when he proved that Blacks were equal to Whites, when he proved that he could play as well as any white person could, if not better. I will reach my goal and have success at being a
I am dedicated to helping out our community and school, because it warms my heart and soul. Seneca said in about 40 to 60 A.D. that you should “be silent as to services you have rendered, but speak of favors you have received.” In other words you should not boast about the numerous projects you have accomplished and how much physical work you executed, but rather pride yourself on how you helped people in community and school, and how you have affected their lives with positive means. I feel life is joyous and it should be the feeling everyone illustrates, and this is exactly what keeps me functioning in the stressful world today. I find comfort in helping others to make their lives a little more like heaven and this comfort motivates me to perform copious service projects to the best of my capability whenever I find the time. Time is fair to the rich, the poor, and to every race, because time is equal and gives everyone 24 hours daily to accomplish their required tasks. Because time is so valuable and I am occupied by difficult advanced placement and honor classes and juggle school, clubs, sports, and friends, I joined Key Club, a high school division of the adult service club, Kiwanis. Key Club opened new doors to make every extra minute count towards helping others.
faith, I took every opportunity to attend church events and gatherings to speak with other
I have often wondered what it would be like to experience the freedom of choosing my own class schedule. This has to be infinitely more stimulating and enjoyable. I am also aware that college will be significantly more challenging, but I have always found it easier to study for a class that interests me. I am willing to accept the fact that as long as I am in school, there will be required courses which may not engender excitement or enthusiasm; however, success should not be as difficult to achieve due to the maturity that is developing during this last year of high school. In addition, I have gained an understanding of the benefit of being well rounded. There is value in all classes taken. It helps to know that even my least favorite subject will contribute to the ultimate goal of personal and career development.
College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.
Like Kathy, I enjoy science classes because they're equally challenging and time consuming. I also look forward to learning new concepts and problem solving in my math classes. However, my favorite class throughout high school, has been psychology. Learning the basis of human behavior and the mind, psychology introduced me to current theories and issues in areas such as cognition, motivation, and wellness. I believe I have the qualities to someday become an exceptional nurse practitioner. High school has taught me time management, the importance of ones health, and good study habits. If I continue using these helpful skills, I will be on the track to becoming a nurse practitioner in no
Helping others gives the person a sense of accomplishment and will make one feel better about themselves. They would probably see a new and gratifying perspective of their life

It might be hard, but I gone through that and see what it has turned out to be. When I was back in middle school during that summer my friend wanted to go ride our bikes, but I had so much homework and had to study for my test for the very next day for summer school. I was so scared that I might fail my test, but the same time I also really wanted to go ride my bike with my friend, so I thought of an idea which is taking my homework and my notes that I needed to study for the next day with me in my backpack. We got to ride our bikes around for a few hours and then we went to the park and found a nice shady area to sit to do our homework and study while enjoying the sunset and watching the birds tweet. That day was the most memorable and fun day I got to seize the moment. Bombeck states, “I’d have died happy” (9). I seize the moment and found a way to the solution and did both things without just studying and doing homework. I did not know something that I almost wanted to break down end up
As time flew by, I was struggling with classes like Anatomy & Physiology and Organic Chemistry given that they were both a lecture class. I was used to smaller classes, and more one on one time with the professor. Challenges, setbacks, and weaknesses like learning how to study on your own and managing your time were what caused me to struggle a lot. However, I still haven't given up on myself in fact, I have been getting better at finding alternatives to better understand my classes. Therefore, although I still find myself struggling a little bit with classes, I will continue to volunteer as much as I can to help increase my success and chances for becoming a
In this insight, I scored an 8 for Part A, and a 0 for Part B, which meant that I was especially engaged in my favorite class and especially disengaged in my least favorite class. While I expected these results, it was shocking to me that I really made no effort to study on a regular basis and put little to no effort into this class. In taking this assessment, I realized that it is not just the professor’s fault or the subject matter’s fault for disliking the class. Rather, you are also accountable for your actions in the course of the class, whether it be studying or putting in the effort. You also have the ability to improve your situation by forcing yourself to become accountable and more
Admissions Essay - I Don't Want to Be a Doctor I was talking to my sister on the phone, the little one, and she said, "I don't think I want to be a doctor. " And I thought, "Oh, no. " Now, you gotta understand, we're Asian.
Film is the quintessential art form of the last century. It is an insight into the human consciousness, offering us the chance to inhabit realities that would otherwise never exist, and assess ourselves in ways we could never consider. No other art form lets me explore my interests in literature, art history, philosophy, architecture, music and politics. Although much the same is true of literature, the interpellative nature of film as a visual medium makes it uniquely immersive. I believe Stanley Kubrick and Wes Anderson's mastery of cinematography and miss-en-scene exemplifies why my passion can only be for Film, above any other medium.
I strongly believe in helping others that might be less fortunate. I have done a lot of community volunteering, such as working in underprivileged neighborhoods to clean up parks and neighborhoods and working with youth. I plan to continue assisting others while I am a student by getting involved in numerous clubs at Western Illinois University. I believe everyone has a moral responsibility to assist others in need, and to set an example for others. My career goal for the next 10 years is to learn all that I can to be the best military officer and to be the best leader I can.
A career as a clinical pharmacist seems to be the goal was working up to my entire life, even before I knew what it was. As a child I found myself fascinated by what made people sick and how to make them feel better. This interest only continued to grow through my education, culminating in my decision to attend pharmacy school upon reaching adulthood.
...le doing it. Tasks that can be easily done for me may be extremely difficult for someone else. I live a privileged life, and therefore, I strongly believe in giving back to the community.
