Bianca Fernandez is a client suffering from severe depression problems after a traumatic incident in her life. Bianca has a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Art. She organizes sculpture expositions every year from, which she generates a decent income of approximately $110,000. She recently married her fiancé Carlos, who is thirty-five years old same as Bianca, who worked in Miami Beach as an architect. They were compatible in many things such as, dancing, reading and exploring nature, and they mutually agreed to have kids on their third wedding anniversary. What would be the most appropriate instrument in personality assessment for evaluating the primary presenting problem? Based on the information compiled during the assessment and the symptoms shown, the visual hallucinations, the loss of appetite, insomnia, and the unsociable behaviors are indication that Bianca is suffering from Major Depression or Clinical Depression due to the loss of her husband (WebMD, 2016). The appropriate instrument to evaluate and complete a determination to start an intervention will be to use the Beck Depression Inventory, BDI-II. 2. Why is this the most appropriate instrument? (Be sure to include appropriate reference to source materials.) The second edition of this measuring instrument includes other symptoms existing in patients with Depression. The BDI-II has 21 items to evaluate the acuteness of depression in individuals previously diagnosed and those with transitory emotional distress due to specific circumstances in their lives.     The Beck Anxiety Inventory was designed by Aaron T. Beck and is self report scale that consists of 21 items. The items are short and straightforward, making it easy to read and comprehend. All items are related to anxiety and describe a symptom of anxiety that is rate on a four point likert scale according to severity.
