Well conflict can be defined in different ways whether it is problems with another person or disagreeing with somebody that does not agree with you the one thing we do know for sure is that conflicts are bad really bad. Reason#1:friends In the story, the kid in the striped pajamas ,bruno solved the hunger of shmuel because shmuel was so hungry and if bruno didn’t know shmuel he would’ve been hungry the entire time. for example:”i’m sorry shmuel he said quickly i should’ve given you some chicken too,are you hungry?”and bruno gave some …show more content…
Some people might disagree like the antagonists from these stories or people from the real world because they aren't paying attention on what they're doing or what are they reading even people hate the stories, or the people in the story, but if they know the character better they might be surprised on the good character and understand on what they are sacrificing!!! My conclusion is that these stories and characters are brave, friendly and loyal because these stories represent something big and some represent something small,in i am malala, malala demonstrates bravery, in the boy in the striped pajamas demonstrates friends and in anne frank she demonstrates good behavior/attitude. To have a good story, there must be good characters. Characters help the reader relate to the plot and struggle of the story, as well as creating a picture of the scenes on each page. But what exactly makes a character? What defines their personalities and relatableness to the reader? The way a character thinks, acts, and views the world are influenced, much like in the real world, by the people and places around them.
These stories helped show that during a hard time stealth and honor is the best way to react.I am Malala, Anne frank, and Dear miss breed, show that they got through that conflict. It doesn't matter how old or young you are, smart, or dumb you have strength and honor, you dont have to be physically strong but mentally strong,Your power is from within
What is a conflict? A conflict is a struggle between opposing forces. In the world today there are many conflicts. Students had to read stories and all had conflicts in them. They read the Necklace, The Scarlet Ibis, The Most Dangerous Game, and many more. Three characters who had to face conflicts are Mathilde, Doodle, and Rainsford.
Conflict is more than just an argument that manifest itself through yelling and behavior it is a perception that there is something wrong and needs to be fixed or explained. There are many different paths that conflict can take and it all depends on the person and situation. The following is an analysis of a conflict in my own life and how it came to be, the different perceptions involved, and the path we choose to take as the conflict went on.
What is the best way to respond to conflict? There are many different ways, there are a lot of good ways to respond to conflict, and some bad ways too. peoples response to conflict can say a lot about us. It is very important that people react to conflict appropriately. People can best respond to conflict by having mindfulness, controlling emotions, and always having a positive attitude.
Before understanding how to deal with conflict, one must understand what conflict is. Conflict can be defined as, “any situation in which incompatible goals, cognitions, or emotions within or between individuals or groups lead to opposition or antagonistic interaction” (Learning Team Toolkit, 2004, pp 242-243). Does the idea of conflict always have to carry a negative connotation? The growth and development of society would be a great deal slower if people never challenged each other’s ideas. The Learning Team Toolkit discusses three different views of conflict: traditiona...
Since stories are among the many mediums used for escapism, the best characters are ideally ones different from the reader. An office worker does not want to read a story about an office worker; they want to read about an adventure hero, or a suave romantic – someone who is not just stapling documents and scanning files like they are. The preferred protagonist used to be the unequivocal good guy – a friendly, well-groomed stranger who wore a white cowboy hat and saved women tied to railroad tracks. There were never any added dimensions to the lead character because there was no need for them. Heroes gave the audience someone to root for. But as the times changed, the archetypal hero became less and less interesting. As Eric Deggans wrote in “Television’s New Antiheros: Creating Sympathy For The Devilish,” “In a world filled with war, recession and cynicism, straight-up heroes feel fake as a three-dollar bill. So the confused guy who does bad things for the right reasons just might be the best reflection of where we are today.” Now we are at a point where authors have rea...
Many people enjoy working or participating in a group or team, but when a group of people work together chances are that conflicts will occur. Hazleton describes conflict as the discrepancy between what is the perceived reality and what is seen as ideal (2007). “We enter into conflicts reluctantly, cautiously, angrily, nervously, confidently- and emerge from them battered, exhausted, sad, satisfied, triumphant. And still many of us underestimate or overlook the merits of conflict- the opportunity conflict offers every time it occurs” (Schilling, nd.). Conflict does not have to lead to a hostile environment or to broken relationships. Conflict if resolved effectively can lead to a positive experience for everyone involved. First, there must be an understanding of the reasons why conflicts occur. The conflict must be approached with an open mind. Using specific strategies can lead to a successful resolution for all parties involved. The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument states “there are five general approaches to dealing with conflict. The five approaches are avoidance, accommodation, competition, compromise, and collaboration. Conflict resolution is situational and no one approach provides the best or right approach for all circumstances” (Thomas, 2000).
workplace include greater total resources, greater knowledge band and a greater source of ideas. However, these advantages can also bring on conflict within teams and the entire workplace. Varney (1989) reported that conflict remained the number one problem within a large company. This was after several attempts were made to train management in conflict resolutions and procedures. However, the conflict remained. The conflict possibly remains because the managers and leaders did not pay attention to the seriousness of the issue. In order to maintain an effective team, leaders and team members must know and be proactive in the conflict resolution techniques and procedures.
However, with this comes the fact that, due to human nature, conflict is bound to arise, thus it is important for people to know how to deal with it in an effective manner. Conflict is seen as a disagreement through which the parties involved perceive a threat to their needs, interests or concerns. Conflict is categorized into two headings; Functional and Dysfunctional Conflict. Functional Conflict is a non-aggressive form which stimulates creativity and allows ideas to flow whereas Dysfunctional Conflict is an aggressive type of disagreement where people refuse to work it out. All types of conflict come with both their own advantages and disadvantages.
1. brief definition of conflict According to the readings and the SI, conflict can be defined as an interactive state characterized by disagreement, or incompatibly through which the parties involved perceive incompatible or a threat to their needs, interests, values, or goals. Conflicts also occurred when individual or group experiences that they are negatively affected by anther individual or group.
I believe conflict is normally a negative thing for people because we don't know how to handle it correctly.. Whether the conflict be you versus another person, you versus yourself, or you versus society conflict is a testing factors that comes inevitably. However when you face conflict how do you react? Having a negative influence or having a positive influence is determined a lot on the way you deal with conflict. Conflict is a good thing if you hit it head first or leave it alone, but it can become a negative influence on you and others if you have a negative influence towards conflicts.
Conflict is energy, conflict is excitement, conflict is often driven by a passion that is necessary to progression. In other words, we need many of the characteristics that might cause conflict and conflict itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The important thing is learning how to manage
Now let's get into conflict resolution. As I previously stated the definition of conflict resolution is “is the process of trying to find a solution to a conflict. Ideally conflict resolution is collaborative problem-solving, a cooperative talking-together process that leads to choosing a plan of action that both of you can feel good about.”
According to McShane and Von Glinow, conflict is “a process in which one party perceives that his or her interests are being opposed or negatively affected by another party” (328). The Conflict Process Model begins with the different sources of conflict; these sources lead one or more parties to perceive that a conflict exists. These perceptions interact with emotions and manifest themselves in the behavior towards other parties. The arrows in the figure illustrate the series of conflict episodes that cycle into conflict escalation (McShane and Von Glinow 331-332).
