Bernie Sanders was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 8, 1941. He attended James Madison High School, Brooklyn College, and the University of Chicago. In 1981, he was elected as mayor of Burlington, the state’s largest city, by a mere 10 votes. In 2006, he was elected to the U.S. Senate after 16 years as Vermont’s sole congressman in the House of Representatives. Bernie is now serving his second term in the U.S. Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote. Bernie is the longest serving independent member of Congress in American history. If he becomes president of the United States, he will be the oldest elected president in U.S. history. Bernie will also be the first Jew to be elected president if he wins the election. …show more content…
Bernie believes in the same things that I do. And has the same morals as I do as well. His values are what I would like our country’s values to be. He believes that men and women are equal. And that every person regardless of gender, race, sex, disability, disorder, religion, age or social status is equal and that everyone matters. He is pro-choice which is a very important thing to me. He is supportive of the LGBT+ community and its members, and has fully been supportive of it this entire time. Unlike his fellow candidates. Bernie recognizes that police brutality is a very real thing and has spoken up about the matter. He has also very clearly supported #blacklivesmatter and has spoken about the P.O.C that have been killed in police brutality and discrimination acts. He has spoken many times about how he feels towards the people and corporations in wall street and I agree with the statements that he has made. I believe that he accurately depicts the working class American. And I enjoy seeing the amount of effort he puts into every single thing that he does. He puts effort into every supporter that he meets and has been known to be a kind man. His views support a “livable wage” which is a minimum wage that the average household can actually survive on and afford the things that are necessities that many families cannot currently. The things he plans to do for our country and its people could potentially help everyone who is struggling to get back on their feet and live their lives once more and that is the kind of country I would love to live in and be an active citizen in. Another key thing about Bernie that I personally appreciate is that he does not let his religion affect his views nor what he plans to do. He does not use “god” as an excuse to hate homosexuals or shame people for abortions. One fact that I have to throw in
Bernie Sanders, current candidate for the President of the United States, Democratic party affiliation, believes that all students deserve the opportunity to receive an affordable, quality education from the earliest stages of schooling to high-level degrees. He has sponsored bills to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, as well as to drastically reduce interest rates on student loan debt.
One of the noteworthy aspects of his life is that he was not what some would consider a “natural-born” leader, meaning that he was not born into a family of great wealth or power. Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 near the town of Yuma, Arizona to a humble, hardworking Mexican immigrant family. His grandfather, Cesario Chavez, for whom he was named after, had worked hard to save enough money to be able to buy land in Arizona and raise his thirteen children, which included Cesar’s father. His father, Librado Chavez, grew up, got married, and opened up a couple of small businesses to help provide for his family and build a better life for his own children. According to biographical accounts about Cesar, this is when and where he began to learn and gain his first understanding about the importance of networking by observing his father at work and by helping run the family businesses....
Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 in a small town near Yuma, Arizona near the border. Born into a poor family, Cesar grew up in Arizona and in a small adobe home along with his parents (United Farm Workers 1). In his early life Cesar experienced a lot of injustices and saw how not only his parents, but most farm workers were being mistreated and overworked. Cesar Chavez later learned a lesson in his life about injustices that he would never be able to forget (United Farm Workers 1). Cesar would say “ the love for justice that is in us is not only the best part of our being, but is also the most true to our nature” (United Farm Workers 1).
Cesar Chavez was born in 1927 to a farmer in Meza, Arizona. When Cesar was 10 years old, his father lost his farm and the family was forced to become migrant farm workers in California. During this time he would encounter the conditions that dedicated his life to changing: wr...
He lived in Manhattan, New York City. What made him become president of the United States is America was when his father died when he was 20 years old and he was so upset that he wanted to try harder and get good grades at school, and get into a really good college and get a good job. His life was really great because his family was rich ,and they gave to the poor and gave money to help orphans find really good homes. He was also homeschooled because of his illness and asthma. He had siblings who were all older than him.
“I am obsessed with silence because of the silence of the world. I do not understand why the world was silent when we needed its outcry. I always come back to that problem. Where were the humanists, the leaders, the liberals, the spokesmen for mankind? The victims needed them. If they had spoken up, the slaughtered would not have succeeded in his task.” - Elie Wiesel
Cesar Chavez (AFL-CIO) was born on March 31, 1927 in Yuma Arizona. He became a migrant worker at the age of ten. As a young boy Chavez worked in this family farm feeding and giving water to the animals, collecting
Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu Hawaii. He is of mixed parentage: his father, a black African born in Kenya, while his mother, a white American that came from Kansas. When he was six years old his parents divorced and his mother married an Indonesian oil manager. They moved to Indonesia where Obama was educated in a Roman Catholic School. He then returned back to Hawaii to continue school while living with his grandparents. Barack struggled with his own racial identity in his late teens. (Funk & Wagnalls)
Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 in Yuma, Arizona to immigrant parents. As a child, Cesar helped work on the farm by bringing water back to his and feeding animals. His parents believed school was very crucial for Cesar. As a kid he did not understand English so in school it was very hard
When you look at yourself in the mirror, probably, you are wondering what is human nature, how does it affect us? We all say that men’s nature at birth is good. But the truth is we realize more and more darkness of humanity along with we grow up, and that changes us inattentively. Today, I would like to present human nature base on the transition of Charlie who is the main character in Craig Silvey’s ‘Jasper Jones’.
I think that Bernie Sanders should be our next president. Bernie is doing three things that I believe will help America. First off he is trying to make college tuition free which will help people that don’t get scholarships, he also is legalizing marijuana which will get people out of jail that shouldn’t be there and people will be able to use it for medical purposes in every state. Bernie Sanders is going to raise Raise income tax rates for those making over $250,000, this is very good plan to even out the rich to poor ranges in America.
Barry Sanders was born July 16th, 1968 in Wichita, Kansas. He grew up in a family being one of eleven other children. When Barry was a kid he was considered to be too short to play football well at the college level. In fact, his 1,417 yards rushing in his senior year of high school wasn't enough to impress college recruiters. One recruiter told Barry's coach, "We don't need another midget." Only two colleges offered Barry a football scholarship. Barry accepted a scholarship from Oklahoma State University and the rest is now history.
Bernie Sanders is a leader of our generation, a face for the goals and aspirations of the diverse minorities that populate this nation. He is an intersectional leader who vouches for the underdog and recognizes the unique struggles of underrepresented demographics. Bernie represents the common American, in all its various forms. He is not simply another face for the upper middle class, cisgender, heterosexual, white man. Despite the fact that he did not succeed in becoming the Democratic Nominee for POTUS, he did succeed in giving a voice for millennials and post-millennials who are tired of standing down to the inequality that abounds in this country.
Good Morning, Mrs. Foreman and fellow classmates, I’d like to thank you for letting me present to you my information today. Our current president, Donald Trump, has caused an uproar with his recent executive decision of his ban on immigrants from certain countries. This intolerable act by our nation’s leader is debated politically as what would be the best choice for Americans.
Did you know that 105 of 128 public schools that offer ninth grade are way below standard? Did you know that, sixty percent of children in fifth grade cannot recognize the difference between a circle or a triangle? Did you know that an ambulance takes forty minutes to arrive after a call? Did you know that in Campinas, 13.28 people are murdered per capita? And that Campinas is the third city in the state with more murderers and the forty ninth nationally speaking? That is why we have to change. We cannot live in fear of going outside like now, we cannot lose our hopes when calling an ambulance. We have to believe in public school’s system.
