I think that Bernie Sanders should be our next president. Bernie is doing three things that I believe will help America. First off he is trying to make college tuition free which will help people that don’t get scholarships, he also is legalizing marijuana which will get people out of jail that shouldn’t be there and people will be able to use it for medical purposes in every state. Bernie Sanders is going to raise Raise income tax rates for those making over $250,000, this is very good plan to even out the rich to poor ranges in America. The only things stopping Sanders are Trump and Clinton. Hillary has been ahead of the democratic race for most of it, and it doesn’t look like that will be changing soon. Then there’s Trump, this crazy man
Bernie Sanders poor showing in South Carolina is just the latest momentum killer of his campaign in the last several weeks. After a good showing in the Iowa caucuses and a victory in New Hampshire, which neighbors his home state of Vermont, Sanders has done nothing to impress since then. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, has seen a rise in the polls thanks to garnering
It is obvious the Republican Party has no brains. If they elect Donald Trump to run for president, they are going to lose big time. They can blame themselves for being so stupid. The establishment runs the Republican Party. They are the ones who lose major elections. The leadership of the Republican Party shifts the blame to conservative wing of the Republican Party; however, it is the moderate wing of the Republican Party who loses elections. Does John McClain ring a bell? If the Republican Party hopes to win the presidency, they must run a conservative or face another trouncing in the next election. It is that simple. Therefore, the Republicans had better wake up fast if they want to
Bernie Sanders, current candidate for the President of the United States, Democratic party affiliation, believes that all students deserve the opportunity to receive an affordable, quality education from the earliest stages of schooling to high-level degrees. He has sponsored bills to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, as well as to drastically reduce interest rates on student loan debt.
The reason why 3rd party candidates don’t win in presidential elections is not because they are unqualified; it’s because the electoral system that we have in place creates enormous obstacles for them. One obstacle is that 3rd party candidates get unfair representation in political debates on television and another is that 3rd party candidates have trouble mobilizing their voters to get to the polls.
Bernie Sanders is running for President of the United States of America as a democratic candidate. His competition for the primary elections is Hillary Clinton, a well-known politician with plenty of experience under her belt. Bernie is running as a non-traditional candidate, which is a main factor of why his campaign is extremely successful and popular with the American people. A recent political ad released by Sander’s campaign team called “Real Change” emphasizes his family values and dedication to the working class, fighting for the votes of the average American. The ad implies Bernie is the right man for the job due to his long history of experience and commitment to the issues he believes in. This political ad illustrates how Bernie
John Kerry is definitely on his way to White House as long as he emphasizes his strengths, his visions for the future, keeping public visibility, and be more approachable as an American citizen. Although others may seem him as uptight, he must let his sincerity to serve the working class Americans shine through and emphasize his "100 days plan" on reforming the United States in achieving a more stable economy and a more secure nation.
Welfare can be defined as health, happiness, and good fortune; well-being; Prosperity; and Financial or other aid provided, especially by the government, to people in need (Merriam-Webster, 2014). It can be very beneficial to people in need of it. Tim Prenzler stated that, “Welfare systems are often seen as providing a ‘safety net’ that prevents citizens falling below a minimum standard of living (2012, p2). Everyone is able to use is if they are in need of it. People have successfully used welfare to get out of their slum, and started to support themselves. Others have decided to not try to get out of that slum, and live off that welfare. They decided that they didn’t have to try, and let the government support them. Welfare is a good tool for people to get back on their feet, but shouldn’t be that persons steady income.
Bernard “Bernie” Sanders, is one of the best candidates for this years 2016 presidential election. He is the junior United States Senator from Vermont. He has demonstrated his passion towards an equal and stabilized country. Sanders is a man who believes in a country that is equal and all voices should be heard. Socioeconomic issues are to be heard of by all people because these issues are what make the people and the country. His propositions to a better socioeconomic country will better the relationships we have with one another. Voting for Bernie Sanders, means voting for a country that will be equal to all the people living here. A country deserves to be united by all the people living here regardless of race. We are all human, we all deserve
There are two category’s in today’s society Those who oppose illegal immigration and want the immigrants to be forced back to their originating countries. Those who oppose illegal immigration but would prefer that illegal immigrants that reside within the United States are granted citizenship options. There are obviously quite a number of people that are opposed to illegal immigration. Almost all of us can say we are children of immigrants Many immigrants risk their lives to reach the United States so that they may provide their families a better life. Some immigration supporters also feel that the risks the immigrants take to get here are far too great. They feel the United States government is placing these individual 's lives at risk by
Bernie Sanders quotes, “America must defend freedom at home and abroad, but we must seek diplomatic solutions before resorting to military action. While force must always be an option, war must be a last resort, not the first option”. He continues on to say that the United States should not be the policeman of the world and that the only way to stop ISIS is to join an international coalition led by countries are able to protect themselves. Unlike Marco Rubio, Bernie Sanders believes that America should not led the fight against ISIS and not make the fight our own. He states that we must take out the terrorists’ funding networks, disrupt their online radicalization, and support religious freedom this is how we will combat the terrorist. Bernie wants to make sure that America doesn’t fall into a policy of unilateral military action and move toward a policy of emphasizing diplomacy and making sure that the decision to go to war is a last resort. Also wants to make sure that any military action we take has clear goals and we provide support to our allies whenever it is
Capitalism, if you want to know what it is this will tell you, it is a place where you can get all the J’s, Nike’s, or if you like Adidas. Capitalism is an economic and political system that makes up a country's industry and trade which is made up of private companies separate from the government unlike socialism. Capitalism is the best economic system to allow your company to grow and succeed in a country's economy.
Two factors, in particular, could potentially hinder Michael Bloomberg’s bid for the presidency. The first is that he plans to run on an independent ticket. Historically, third party Presidential campaigns have been largely unsuccessful. A third party candidate has never won a U.S. presidential election. The reason for this is primarily systemic.
When you hear the words “welfare” what comes to mind? To me, the word welfare has always had a very negative connotation. However, after looking further into the concept behind it all, welfare isn’t always such a bad thing. In general, welfare provides financial stability for those who are otherwise unable to do so. Welfare can be very beneficial to a multitude of people with many different ways to make life easier. Welfare in the United States refers to a federal welfare program that has been put into place to benefit unemployed people or just your average lower class person. The most common forms of welfare are Medicaid and food stamps. Believe it or not, a welfare program is not a new idea. Welfare has started long before we were born. In the early days of welfare, the British put into place something called “poor laws”. These laws distinguished who was able to work and provide for themselves and who wasn’t due to physical condition or even how old they were. This was very similar to what President Franklin D. Roosevelt did during the times known as the great depression. The Social Security Act was amended in 1939, which gave lower income people more money throughout the depression. Unemployment Compensation and Aid to Dependent Children are two welfare programs that are still out there today. Welfare programs can benefit you in areas such as health, housing, tax relief and just more money in your pocket. Welfare is not only an American idea. In the Islāmic culture the word zakat means charity. Zakat is actually one of the five pillars of faith. This money has been collected by the government since the 7th century. The taxes, however, still have the same benefit to us. The taxes were collected and used to provide income to ...
Feel the Bern. We have all heard this political slogan this past year for the running Senator Bernie Sanders, who is known for his messy hair and crowd enticing speeches. The speech I have chosen to analyse is one that he professed to the students of Georgetown University in Washington D.C. last November. He speaks about how he is a democratic socialist and how many highly respectable persons of the past were as well, and that their socialist ideas are some of the defining beliefs that are held in the United States today. His speech touches on many issues that need to be fixed in America and the world today, those included are the wealth gap of the middle class and the top tenth of the one percent,
As both "conservatism" and "liberalism" have had various meanings sooner or later and transversely countries, the word liberal conservatism has been used in relatively different sanity. In political science, the word is used to pass on to ideologies that merge the support of capitalism, for instance value for contracts, protection of private property and free market require reference to validate with the principle in natural discrimination, the significance of religion, and the worth of traditional integrity need reference to validate in the course of a construction of inadequate, legitimate, representative government (Abdou & Zaazou 2013). It contrasts with traditional liberalism and particularly aristocratic conservatism, rejecting the belief of correspondence as a little in discordance with human nature, instead emphasizing the thought of natural inequality (Crozier. 2012).As the conservative thought in democratic countries hold typical liberal institutions such as the rule of law, private property, market economy, and constitutional representative government, the liberal factor of liberal conservatism
