College can be a very difficult experience for almost any student. First time college students are usually the ones to struggle the most on being successful in college simply because they are used to high school and having the same classes every day and the teachers took it easy on them. Most college students are excited about being on their own and not having his or her parents watching his or her every move. Usually college students focus on having fun more than academics causing them to not so well in his or her classes. College students must balance social life, work, academics, and health to be successful in college. If a college student’s grades start dropping he or she might want to put academics before anything else. There are many ways a college student can be successful. The main thing to do to be a successful college student is go to class. Each time you miss a class you are missing notes, pop quizzes, and important dates. If you are struggling in a class, you might want to create a study group with friends. You also might want to look into your college’s clubs that they offer. Many clubs help you grow academically and socially and look good on your resume when you graduate and start filling out resumes. Joining clubs is also a great way to meet new people from different backgrounds that have the same interests as you. You might decide to participate in Greek Life. Joining a fraternity or sorority has many benefits to them and you meet many new people. It is proven that having a social life in college helps you perform later in life.
