It’s hard to succeed in college. Especially harder to succeed when you have things you want and need to do, like work to pay the bills, or hangout with friends and family to relieve the stress of school. You can’t let your work and school schedules interfere with each other and there is a way prevent that. The way to succeed in college is to plan your days so that you use your time efficiently.
First step in scheduling your day is scheduling the time you sleep and eat. Sleeping and eating helps you in many ways. It helps you stay focused, gives you energy and you are able to obtain knowledge with the adequate amount of sleep and nutrition. If you don’t have a regular sleeping schedule and eat properly, you will be tired and won’t have a lot of energy. Depending on whether you work or not, your eating schedule might be a little different. There might be times when you can’t sit down and eat a full meal, or cook a full meal. You should try to eat three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, but if necessary, then try to have shakes and meal replacements and snack supplement if you can’t have a proper meal or skip a meal. Sleeping and eating will help you when attending class.
You need to be in class and aware while in class. Attendance is part of your grade. Also, if you don’t attend, or unable to focus while in class, you won’t be able to obtain knowledge. There will be some days when there are tests you will have to take in class. You have to be alert and ready for the test to pass the test. If you don’t attend class you won’t be able to take the tests that are given and you won’t know what to do for homework and projects.
The next thing you need to do in planning your schedule is planning your homework and projects at home. You need sufficient time to do your homework and projects. If you don’t do any homework or projects you won’t be able to pass your class because that’s the majority of your grade.
Using your time wisely is important in many ways to use your time wisely by paying action and be quiet and watch the teachers, keep your hands to yourself, stay in your seat and have your work in front of you. Don't get side tracked and you'll miss an answer or question then you'll start horse play because you didn't pay attention and gave up, but when you get in trouble you'll get and an attitude towards the teacher and you'll get in more
Your schedule will be as open as a barren desert. You will relieve all your stress by procrastinating. You don’t have to worry about the assignment until the day l before it is due, and this is a good thing. as you can zone out and focus on the activity at hand whether that’s browsing online, watching a movie, or hanging out with friends. The assignments will begin to haunt you at first; this will be a challenge that everyone faces, yet you need to realize that paper isn’t going to write itself, and neither are you; at least, not yet. That paper has a long life ahead of it before it needs to get turned in, why make it suffer? Speedily add to it the day before to ensure that no pain goes to the paper. In class, you don’t have to listen, but rather just act like you doing work. You can just look at the notes, that the teacher wrote when you get home. If you forget, it isn’t the end of the world you still have a day to study; the test is tomorrow. Procrastination is the gift that keeps giving. The more you procrastinate, the easier it will get, the more your grades will increase, and the more you’ll have fun. Yet, don’t get too carried away. You must procrastinate but still must complete your assignments. School is important, yet your activities outweigh the need for completion of assignments, so they can wait. What you need and want should come
...ut fun, I'm stressing my mind too much. Austin Dopp and Thomas Parish created an ABC journal about how to succeed in college. They mentioned that students need to study but also take a break and be ready to learn and pay attention (Dopp, Austin, Parish). Powers and Swick mention in tip seven, celebrate small accomplishments along the way, is that you should celebrate your small accomplish like tests, quiz, and finishing you semester.
... notes on the side, take well explained notes in class, and ask questions when I need to then I would do better. Eating is also an important part in learning and succeeding, if people don’t have a well nutritioned body then they won't be able to think as clearly to be able to do all the necessities for college courses.
A second strategy I think is very useful for my college career is to set goals. This is useful for someone like me who always seems to slack off in school and give in to less important concerns. For example I would have school and work as my main priorities, but I would get distracted and end up playing video games or just hanging out doing nothing productive with my time. I decided to a set certain...
This problem influences my academic and personal life because I cannot manage my time correctly in order to be successful. Firstly I am not organized and I don’t have any plan to set and apply. Teachers in college for the most part don't really care whether or not you are in class. All it means is that if you are not there, you are going to get a failing grade if it happens too often. Missing too many classes will cause the teacher to withdraw you from the class, resulting in a failing grade. If you do it the smart way you would withdraw from the class yourself because then it would have no negative effect on your overall G.P.A. In high school the teachers are always on you about attendance. If you miss too many days you can fail. If you are not in class they want to know why. They also want a note from your parents excusing you from class. Some schools even want your parents to call you in sick if you are not going to be there. If you do not have a note they can write you up for an unauthorized absence and, give you a detention.
College students have to balance work, family, and college activists and any delaying behavior from within can cause an unbalance. This behavior is called procrastinating and it can lead to problems in many areas of a student’s life. College students are the worst hit by this type of behavior because they have many different activities to focus on instead of studying. These activities can cause students to study when they have time which often is usually too short amount of time. There is a time and place to relax and enjoy life, but if students focus on playing around instead of getting their assignments done, college life will be stressful.
As an adult student, it is not easy to manage the demands of work; spouse and children; and the need to set aside time to read, research, write, and complete specified assignments. The biggest complaint conveyed by adult students is that they simply don’t have enough time. The fact is time management is crucial so you don’t lose sight of your goals. Students’ time is a limited resource. Like other limited resources, time can be more or less effectively managed (Britton, 1991, p.405). It is hard to address my perspective of my own procrastination and my ability to learn. Now that I’m older and looking at the facts of where I am now in life, I should be a lot further in my college goals. Many young adults wish someone sat them down early in life and guided them in a wiser direction. A college degree is essential in the career world.
There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what’s expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished.

Attendance is a crucial aspect of a student’s education. When a student is tardy or absent, this interferes with them receiving the information given in class. Class introductions that include instructions, objectives, due dates, etc. may be missed if a student is tardy and if a student is absent, they may also get behind on their class work and homework. Communication between teacher and students about the classroom management procedures for these two things are important so that students are informed and are able to take the initiative to gather what they have missed which can help avoid them falling behind. If tardies and absences are frequent, a teacher may begin to be concerned and question what could be the possible reasons behind it, whether that be an outside force in a student’s life or something that may be happening in the teacher’s own classroom.
