Did you know a beginner psychologist can make as much as $64,023 a year? The college I am thinking about going to is Minnesota State University. I would choose to go there for many reasons. My goal is to study psychology and become a psychologist. The college I want to go to is Minnesota State University. One of multiple reasons is because tuition is not very expensive compared to other colleges. It costs $574.30 per credit. The college is in Minnesota so it will be closer than most other ones when I move in the next year. It also means I may not have to live on campus which would be cheaper. As a beginner psychologist, I would be making at least $64,000 or more per year depending on where I choose to live. It would slightly increase
Universities can be expensive, especially if the school is out of state or in current residency. Attending a community college to save money is a smart option for students.
A typical job that a highschool graduate gets will be around $8.50 to $9.00 an hour, that's right around $350 a week. That would make it really hard to live or pay off anything that you acquired after the fact of any type of schooling. Even though most of the time you will be out of state working and will not get to come home all that much.It is still a good job to have that you can set your foundation of life
Now, for a main question that crosses most people’s mind. How much money do speech-language pathology make hourly and yearly? As of 2012 the median pay was $69,870 and about $34 an hour. The reasoning upon having a median wage is when they take half of the workers of a profession earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10% have earned less than $44,000 and the top 10% made more than $105,000 (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Even when some made the lowest they still are making pretty good money. Since a person now knows about the pay, job requirements, schooling and what speech-language pathologist is, now would be a good time to talk about the age groups that speech problems can happen in.
After high school I want to further my career at the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City. There tuition all together will be around $30,213. With the price of college being so high I will need to apply for any scholarships I can. About 75% qualify for financial aid. This college is well known and is very helpful in this career field. I think I will enjoy furthering my career of my dreams there.

For my psychology interview assignment, I had the privilege of interviewing Elaine, who is the Director of Preschool X, which is an educational institution. She reports that she has been in this position for 13 years since its inception. Elaine is a close friend of my aunt, which was how I was able to meet her. She explained that her responsibilities include; the hiring of all personnel related to the school, submission of criminal background checks, the medical reports for all staff and children must be current, and also developed a curriculum for the teachers to execute. She has parent meetings and she deals with parents on a daily basis. For any arising issues, Elaine conferences with parents at least once or twice a week. Have weekly staff meetings regarding the curriculum. She also plays the role as the educational event coordinator, where she would “invite people from the dinosaur museum or alley pond park to come over to her preschool, to enrich the children”.
In the economically depressed world we live in today, the bottom line for students and parents when choosing a college is money. Although the thought of going off to college in the big city is both alluring and exciting, the price tag that goes along with it is not. Due to tighter wallets and budget cuts, students are beginning to re-consider their firm stance that they must go out of state for college. With all expenses considered, it is obvious that going to a local college is much cheaper than going to a university across the country. However, if your dream college is 3,000 miles away, there are many options that should be considered that will help pay for tuition, such as scholarships, loans, and working part-time. But even before this step, one must take into account every expense that goes along with that pricey college on the other side of the country; i.e. the application fee, room and board, and even the clothing required in that climate. All of these factors and more were considered when researching my two colleges, Arizona State University and New York University, and I determined that although ASU is the most financially viable, the education and pedigree I would receive attending NYU far outweighed the expensive tuition and other costs. Therefore, NYU, the more expensive school, is my first choice out of the two colleges. Although choosing a top college is an important step in the search process, planning on how to pay for it is the most important step. There are many different options available to incoming students, such as scholarships, loans, part-time jobs, working on campus,
Within clinical psychology alone, pay ranges greatly based on years of experience and workplace. A clinical psychologist fresh out of college may make $51, 309 whereas one with thirty years of experience could make $92,582 yearly. There is more variation based on workplace and employer type. For example, here are median salaries for clinical psychologists based on workplace: hospital - $64,611; non-profit organization - $55,844; private practice - $74,323; college or university - $52,319; school or school district - $57,644; federal government - $81,840; company - $60,196.
There are a lot of different locations where developmental psychologists are high in demand. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has stated that the median annual salary for developmental psychologists was $86,510. (Steele p.1) Developmental psychologists are pretty close to this average, they make in between $69,150 and $109,600. In Houston, Texas they make around $76,302 which is 2% above the national average.
Psychiatrists salaries vary depending on where they are located. Obviously the salary would not be as much in Durant, because Durant’s population is not very high. I am going to move to Seattle, Washington and work there. Seattle is a big city and I will have more patients there because the population in Seattle is pretty high. In Washington the salary for psychiatrist is about $120,000 to $190,000 a year (Career One Stop). When I first start the job I will not be making that much, but after a few months or so and I start getting more clients, my pay will go up.
I never noticed how much psychology could be incorporated into everyday life. But really, any decision or action you take is related to it. I have personally been extremely interested in social psychology: why people do things because of social norms, what people do in order to look socially acceptable, etc. Others topics I also find interesting are sensation and perception; how past experiences can influence how you perceive the things around you, states of consciousness; how things that have happened in your day can be transferred into a mash of events in your dreams, motivation and emotion; what makes a person do something or what makes a person start or stop procrastination, and lastly: personality; what characteristics and traits stand out the most in a person, what makes a person who they are.
experience we are able to survive and exist. But it has to be bear in
According to my research, an entry level Psychologist earns around $30,000 a year, $2,500 a month ($30,000 divided by 12=$2,500) The following research predicts and plans how the money will be divided in order to live financially stable.
One of the more popular areas of psychology is Educational Psychology. Educational Psychology can be explained several ways. The idea is to study theories and concepts from different parts of psychology and apply them in educational settings. These educational settings may occur in different school settings such as preschool. The goal of educational psychology is to create a positive student-teacher relationship. Educational psychology uses five different types of psychology, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and social cognitive, and constructivist in this research paper I will be briefly discussing each type of psychology listed above.
I also realized that communication is my main and strongest skill. I feel like I need a job with strong communication skills required. Also, I have always wanted a job that I can help people with their personal problems. I enjoy helping others and listening to their problems. The only concern I have for this job is that I am not emotionally strong and that is an important requirement for this job. In the field of psychology one must have to deal with others personal problems that tend to be very sad. Another main concern I have is the schooling. I read online that a bachelor’s degree in the psychology field isn’t very useful. Often, people with this level of degree end up in jobs they don’t want and these jobs have a low pay. One student said for the amount of time and hard work you put into college doesn’t pay off in with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. The pay isn’t that great and the job isn’t either she said. Lots of psychology students online said that it is a better idea to get your doctorate degree. This is not something I want to do. I’ll have to keep researching to find better options. I would consider getting a master’s degree though if
