2 Introduction to Wireless Networks
2.1Basic Concepts of a Communication Network
Initially, before defining that what is a wireless network and how it works, firstly it is important to know some basic concepts like: what is a communication network in general, the services that it offers, the needed components for operation and normally it’s necessary to know some information about wired network because it is difficult to understand how works a wireless network before knowing how works a wired network, and this will be described later below.
A communication network, in the simplest form, it is a set of equipment and facilities that are needed to provide a service: the transfer of information between users that are located at various geographical

Wired Networks are also called Ethernet Networks. A wired network in its simplest form is a collection of two or more computers, printers and other devices linked by Ethernet cables. Ethernet as a fastest protocol in a wired network offers connection speeds of 10 megabits per second (Mbps) or higher. Wired networks can also be participated in other wired or wireless networks. When a computer want to connect to a network, initially the computer must have an Ethernet adapter (sometimes called a network card, or NIC). In following paragraphs of this paper will be described the main concepts of a wireless …show more content…

2.4 Benefits of a wireless network
Individuals and organizations can experience many benefits from a wireless network, based on facts that are shown on [9], which include:
• Convenience - Access your network resources from any location within your wireless network 's coverage area or from any WiFi hotspot.
• Mobility - You are no longer tied to your desk, as you were with a wired connection. You and your employees can go online in conference room meetings, for example.
• Productivity - Wireless access to the Internet and to your company 's key applications and resources helps your staff get the job done and encourages collaboration.
• Easy setup - You don 't have to string cables, so installation can be quick and cost-effective.
• Expandable - You can easily expand wireless networks with existing equipment, while a wired network might require additional wiring.
• Security - Advances in wireless networks provide robust security
Wireless networks – While the term wireless network may technically be used to refer to any type of network that is wireless, the term is most commonly used to refer to a telecommunications network whose interconnection between nodes is implemented without the use of wires, such as a computer network. Wireless telecommunication networks are generally implemented with some type of remote information transmission system that uses electromagnetic waves, such as radio waves, for the carrier and this implementation usually takes place at the physical level or “layer” network.
The ability to record information which is relevant to a product and service will help ensure an exceptional customer experience. The ability to access this information anywhere in the world is also key to supporting the customer. (http://www.cio.com/archive/ec_blueprint.html) Wireless devices such as laptops,
Our primary measure of value for this project will be in increasing use of the internet on the go for our employees by giving them direct wire-less internet service in their vehicles. The addition of wireless Internet service will provide on the go service to better assist with customer service and improve the quality of work for our employees. The added value of employee productivity while using the wireless service on their mobile devices and in vehicles will be difficult to measure, but using surveys to further measure the success of this project.

Explain that less office space will be needed and how employees of companies that offer telecommuting often have a better retention rate than companies that do not.
...e that may not meet the health quality standards of network access. This will also alleviate the needs for those employees to bring the physical devices into the office or the need for it to travel to their locations.
The advantage of telecommuting for some employees can be invaluable. One huge advantage an employee has when telecommuting is flexibility. Telecommuting allows for increased flexibility to coordinate work schedules with personal and family priorities. Flexible working arrangements improve quality and work done (Dudman, 2001). Achieving a balance between work and personal duties can help individuals gain more control over their lives.

Wireless technology has come from the basics of cellular usage to sensors in the medical field. Wires are now a thing of the past in today’s world with technology forever revitalizing. Wi-Fi (Wireless Network) or 802.11 networking is a phenomenal way of providing wireless Internet at a low cost. Using radio waves, a wireless network connects a PC, mobile phone or just about anything that connects to the internet wirelessly via a router.
On the more positive side, wireless networking allows leaders to share resources with their team operating by means of wireless media, such as microwaves, cellular technology, and radio frequencies. Wireless networking is paving the way for technology integration around the world. The use of collaboration tools allows ongoing conversations among leaders, their subordinates, board members, and community members. Professional development is one area where collaboration can have an enormous impact on management leadership. When leaders can casually share new approaches and practices with each other through a technology connection to their workplace, both leaders and their team will benefit. One way of doing this is to create an Internet mailing list where they can share questions, problems, solutions, successful techniques, and less successful techniques. The Internet is enabling digital video to achieve professional-quality and two-way interaction. This will be one of the rare cases where management leadership will be leading a technological shift in society as a whole. Hand-held devices are high-tech gadgets, now more powerful than early Windows or Macintosh machines. Handheld devices offer more versatility than full-size computers and are much more portable than the alternative personal device, the ...
These technologies are of limited effectiveness in connecting employees while at work and at home via Berean network. Berean¡¦s infrastructure does not allow employees on the move to leverage the time they spend at meetings, in the cafeteria, and the other location to catch up on e-mail, retrieve information, or perform other work related activities (Sage Research Staff, 2005).
As you can see for the most part, people are connecting to wireless from the moment they leave their home till they get to work and then back. Wireless communication definitely provides an advantage over wired networks due to its mobility, allowing users to connect from virtually anywhere.
It allows consumers and businesses to use applications without installation and access their personal files at any computer with internet access. E.g. Yahoo mail, Gmail, Hotmail.
Remote Access | As more of the knowledge based workforce become more mobile, the ability to be able to access cooperate data while not in the office is essential to employee productivity. This not only increases mobile employees’ productivity, but also has a significant impact on other employees and their productivity since information can be updated in the central corporate database providing near real-time information.
Wired ones are practically safer. At least as far as interception is concerned. But all about how we used our wired network system. And what types of wire we used. The quite of wire used though, the standard copper wire can be easily manipulated and data packets stolen, optical fibers are way safer though. In one way we cannot be sure of being safe ever. The internet is a rapidly growing field and securing the flow of data is surely getting harder day by day. Wireless is ideal for providing network access in meetings or common areas and can also be used to offer internet access to visitors. There is a number of wireless networking standards too. Try to get a wireless router or acc...
