Ever since President Trump’s inauguration, Barron Trump has been mocked for being a kid. Both articles, “What’s it like being a kid in the White House? Kids have a lot of ideas” by Caitlin Gibson and “Is it tough being a kid? Try being the president’s kid” by Darlene Superville try to explain how it must be for Barron Trump to live in the White House. In my opinion, I believe that the article “Is it tough being a kid? Try being the president’s kid” by Darlene Superville portrays how it must be for Barron Trump to live in the White House under the spotlight and glory more accurately. In the first article, ten-year-old kids are interviewed to see what they think the White House could be like for Barron Trump. Most of the kids thought it would be great to have expensive parties and have things all to yourself, but what they do not understand …show more content…
20 as the new first family revealed in Inauguration Day events. Separately in Chicago, comedian Shannon Noll played the title in ‘Barron Trump: Up Past Bedtime,” which had a recent run at a theater in Hyde Park” (Superville 1). This quote from “Is it tough being a kid? Try being the president’s kid” explains the truth behind the spotlight and glory more accurately because it shows how the media will mock every “childish” thing that Barron Trump does. Many could argue the first article portrays that it would be fantastic to live in the White house due to the quote, “They can also host pretty killer sleepovers… they probably don’t have to do chores expected of other kids- no dusting, no dishes, no taking out the trash” (Gibson 4). Even though there are some good benefits such as what was explained in the previous quote, there are still many negative benefits to being the president's child. To conclude, I believe that the article “Is it tough being a
The world has experienced many changes in past generations, to the present. One of the very most important changes in life had to be the changes of children. Historians have worked a great deal on children’s lives in the past. “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.”- Author Unknown
The childhood of a young boy is very crucial in what he will be like in his own life.
As a father of five children, you would think of having the parenting “thing” down packed, but raising children doesn’t get easier, you will just become more advanced into raising the child you have. That being said, Bill Cosby mentions “in spite of all the love, joy, and gratification that children bring, they do cause a certain amount of stress that takes a toll on parents.” Meaning even though children are all fun and games, sooner or later those games come to a halt and now the parents has to become strict, but yet compromising to help the child grow and develop and also try to set a straight and narrow path for their child to follow in life. He feels as a father ...
Children have often been viewed as innocent and innocent may be a nicer way to call children naive. Since children’s lives are so worry free they lack the knowledge of how to transition from being a child to becoming an adolescent. Their lack of knowledge may be a large part of their difficulties growing up, which could be a few rough years for many. In books like the boy in the striped pajamas the story is told from the point of view of a little boy, this way we get a full view of how innocent he is. In this book the writer shows the reader first hand how a child viewed the holocaust and how his innocence cost him his life. Then in books like the perks of being a wallflower Charlie is a teen whom is struggling with the transition from being a child to becoming an adolescent. In this book the writer gives a first hand look at how difficult it can be to transition into an adolescent. Charlie has many difficulties in this book; he is in search of his identity and how to fit in.
As adults, we have trouble representing children because, having once been children ourselves, we claim authority on the topic even though we no longer live as children nor do we see the world through their eyes. Even though we were once children, we cannot assume that we inherently know what it is like to be a child (Wilkie 100).
Donald Trump can be appreciated for his cunning business savvy and an ability to at various times throughout his career, make it big. By co-creating this reality show with Mark Burnett, not only has he capitalized on the public's desire to fantasize about (and for a precious few, compete for) achieving a high-profile, financially lucrative career as a business mogul, he has also brought to the mainstream audience a heated, emotional and stimulating debate about something that we all seem to have an opinion on: what it takes to be a great leader.
...rld, parents need to provide them with structure, discipline, and emotional support. The word, “child” shouldn’t be interchangeable with “small adult”. Treating them this way can leave someone insecure, lost, and unprepared for life, as I frequently feel. People are becoming more and more likely to write children into their narratives as these self-governing characters who know what’s best for themselves, but however convenient and valuable that may seem, that is never the role they were intended to play.
the answer is no. According to Paula Wilkins essay on the article, "The Kids are More Than All
For those of you who are only children you often have to deal with the presumption that you are spoiled and self centered, this is shown to be true in many cases, but remember every birth order group has its share of annoying traits. On the good side only children tend to be very confident, have a good eye for detail, and are v...
Again, use quotes from the article and use Satire. Use Personal thoughts on over protective Mothers and 'shielding' children.
Usually the kid is examined as a sort of object, who is like a toy in the hands of adult, who teaches the kid and provides positive and negative experiences, but Vygotsky managed to see a kid like an independent active person who can actually actively influence the adult, and it happens every often that a kid controls a mature person even more than adult controls a
Some parents put their children up on a pedestal, and treat them as if they are the most prized creatures on the Earth. Parents think that they raise their children right, but Gottlieb makes a valid point when she states, “As a parent, I wanted to do things right. But what does ‘right’ mean?” I like how Gottlieb uses the story of the child tripping over a rock. When the kid falls, some parents would come to the rescue, and cuddle the child before they even start to cry. Even though they mean well, I feel like these parents are not even thinking of how a scenario as simple as this can affect their children later in life. This example reflects that even the overprotective and “good” parents end up having children that are lost and unhappy because they did not show any discipline and organization. Dan Kindlon, a children’s psychologist that Gottlieb mentioned, explained, “There’s a difference between being loved and being constantly monitored.” This made me think of a friend whom goes to West Georgia who I will call Ella. She grew up with the constant surveillance of her
It shows that these kids can not be "kids" anymore without being criticized for it. They are put under a lot of pressure to act exactly how the media expects them to. Although "What's it like to be a kid in the White House? Kids have a lot of ideas" gives opinions and realities of living in the White House, such as when the informative article states, "They get awesome food, that's for sure, and - if their parents allow it- they can have whatever they want,' Lengel says. 'They get to meet famous people. Think of all the celebrities. Obama brought sports heroes and musicians into the White House"(Gibson, 4). However, this article only shows the good sides of being in the White
The first story, Ethnic Trump included a young boy named Luke. His father is Irish and his mother is Chinese, Luke ended up looking more Chinese than Irish. In the beginning of the story, Luke didn’t have a problem going to school and hanging out with other kids. One day he decided to change the color of his hair color to a yellow. In the story a mother reported that her son had invited all blond- haired children like himself to his birthday party. It was at this point, that Luke felt like he fit in because he was invited to something since he changed his hair color.
Children, on the other hand, have so much free time. Think about it, all they have to do is go to school. When I was a child I would go to school from seven in the morning to two o'clock in the afternoon. At three I had swim practice to five and from there I would go home, finish up some homework, and usually nap before dinner. After dinner, I would sometimes watch some TV with my dad and then be in bed at 9 PM precisely. As an adult now, I can't even fit all the things I have to do in one day. I am a full-time college student. I go to class in the morning, I do homework and study, then go to work, and by the time I’m home from working it's already 9 PM whereas a child at that time I would already be in bed ready for my next day. As an adult, we have a lot more things to worry about of and responsibilities that need to be taken care of. Children have free time, no stress, and usually get a full 9-10 hours of sleep. I don’t even remember when was the last time I got a full 7 hours of sleep! However even as children or adults, time is always priceless, so I never let time go by for no
