How do you conceptualize Pat’s situation? I see Pat’s situation as a client that has a strong external force that is influencing her situation. I do not feel that Pat has a solid of idea of whom she may be or what she would like as a career. The only thing that is certain is that Pat does not want to become a chef. She seems to have other creative aspirations; however, she has not had the opportunity to explore those options because of her circumstances.
Mamma Jo’s Pizza should accommodate their employee, Ahmad, and his need due to the fact that he wears his beard specifically for religious reasons. For discrimination based on religion, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Mamma Jo’s Pizza has the duty to “reasonably accommodate” employee’s “sincerely held” religious practices unless doing so would cause undue hardship to Mamma Jo’s business. If wearing a beard is a sincerely held religious practice for Ahmad, then Mamma Jo’s should make reasonable adjustments to the work environment that will allow him to fully practice his religion as long as these adjustments are not more than mere inconvenience. An example of an accommodation that Mamma Jo’s could make is a job reassignment. Mamma Jo’s no beard policy can be argued to be a business necessity for employees dealing with the food, so Ahmad could possibly do other tasks away from the food such as working at the cash register, answering the phone, or other clerical work.
Who would have thought that building a prototype camera with a sewing machine and a drill would lead to Nick Woodman becoming the head of one of the most popular video camera companies around today (Forbes-3)? GoPro owes most of its rapid success to their quick wise decision to move to the cloud with their supply chain. In an interview at Gartner’s Supply Chain Executive Conference in June of 2011, Bob Bowman, the managing editor of SupplyChainBrain, and GoPro’s CTO, Stephen Baumer discuss GoPro’s growth in light of their supply chain. Baumer explains that when GoPro released their HD cameras, he quotes “we saw an almost unmanageable amount of growth (Baumer-4).” With the accelerated amount of growth GoPro was experiencing, they knew they had
Bobby (Robert) Joe Long is a sexual offender/ predator flyer registered in the state of Florida, and he committed crimes in the early 1980’s (Tumblr, n.d.). Long was also a serial killer, and his violent sexual acts occurred for a long period of time around the Tampa Bay Area. The convicted killer and rapist grew up in an unstable home, where his parent’ relationship was on and off over time. Since the offender committed robbery, rape and murder, it is likely that there was a strong desire to control others. Long was called “Classified Ad Rapist”, and he responded to the ads targeting women who were alone at home (Tumblr, n.d.). Even though, he had been tried for rape, he was not convicted, and his violent murderous tendencies escalated. Over time he started visiting backstreet locations, seedy bars and prostitution, looking for vulnerable victims who were alone.
If you bought a smoothie recently you may have been shocked at the price. Jamba Juice is a well-known smoothie chain, and it strives in promoting a healthy living style. When you bought this smoothie you maybe thought you were paying for the health benefits or quality. But that isn’t true, you were paying for the product and materials that went into serving that smoothie. Jamba Juice was simple back in 2008, only serving smoothies, but began a strategic move to transform. Consumers wanted more than something they can drink, they wanted food too. Jamba’s mission to transform began and the prices changed with it. By 2014, Jamba Juice began serving fresh juices, whole food smoothies, nutritional smoothies and food items (“Jamba Juice,” n.d.). But why did smoothie prices have to change? Well, many factors contribute to the cause.

The key managerial problem which John Fahey is facing is to decide as to whom the e-commerce head should report, in the current organizational structure of NGS, so that the new position gives him enough freedom to leverage the growth opportunities of the e-commerce platform efficiently. How much span of control for the new head is required to cope with declining print media sales and build the right balance between allocating investments and revenue allocations across different product units of the organisation? He should also have enough exposure to build strong customer relationships and brand loyalty by improving the membership program using e-commerce.
