Q1. What made it possible for you to land in the Bain and Company?
Answer – The selection procedure of most of the consulting firms is based on the case study. There were three interviews based on your ability to study cases followed by the final interview to select the best out of the best. The final interview takes a brief look over your structured thinking, problem solving skills and your communication skills as well. The perfect candidate is expected to be amiable as the job includes a lot of travelling. Though it differs from company to company, the crux is that the person should fit in. What does an Associate Consultant do?
Answer - There are usually two issues regarding the revenue. One is about the volume and other one is about the cost. So one person will focus on the volume while the other one will be focusing on cost. There is a part where the problem statement is divided among the people. These sub parts of the problem are managed by a single person or many people depending on the difficulty level.

Q7. What is the structure of Bain & Co.?
Answer - Two years of sincere and dedicated work as an Associate would make you a senior associate for the following year. Then the successive two years, you work as a consultant followed by the post an implicit Senior Consultant, the case team leader. Your successful third year as a consultant makes you eligible to get promoted as a Manager. However, the promotion is strictly dependent on the performance. You may never become one.

Answer - First of all, there is no politics. Second, the time period that I have mentioned is the minimum period after which you will be considered for the next post. So, if you want to pursue MBA so early, then IIM makes sense because an International Businedd School will not take you with little work experience in the relevant field. Because the learning environment in an International Business School is based on learning through experiences. So if I have no experience, then there is nothing that can cause any impact.

Answer - I am thinking about specializing in general management. But I haven't finalised yet.

Q15. How did you prepare for your MBA in United States?
Answer – To study in any Business School in United States, GMAT score is necessary. GRE is also accepted by some universities. Yet GMAT is more desired. Then comes the long application process. You will have to write essays about a lot of things such as the reason behind choosing this particular university, the passion you have for the subject and so on. Then you are required to tell about all the awards and honors, presentations and all the other activities outside the academics and extra curricular activities as well in detail. You are then asked to send two glowing letters of recommendation from your seniors online. This plays an important role in the selection process.
