Introduction My experiment will be testing the affects aspirin has on plants. I will be watering the experimental group every two weeks with a gallon of water that has two pills dissolved in it. The aspirin should help the plants with their induced systemic resistance. After everytime that I water the plants (I will water both groups with regular water every two days) I will record the growth of the controle group and the experimental group.

Hypothesis- If I water plants with aspirin, then they will grow better because the aspirin will boost their immune system.

Things like that could cause a plant severe stress and just like humans, plants don't function well under stress.
At first people with dying plants will think to use expensive and fancy fertilizer but when stressed, plants can't really absorb the phosphates and nitrates so using them would be useless. At this point you might think that your plant is unrecoverable, but you're wrong. A simple coat of aspirin should help. Even under extreme stress it will work and make your plant more robust and durable. If you keep reading onto the next paragraph I will explain to you exactly why that happens.
When plants are under stress, they naturally produce salicylic acid. Most of the time it tends to be not fast enough or not a significant amount so it can not help them in time. So then diseases get to them or bugs get to them, which then causes them to become even more stressed. In people aspirin reduces pain and swelling and can lower body temperature in the case of a fever. Plants also have this response to injury and damage when aspirin is …show more content…

Scientist call this Induced systemic resistance, or ISR. ISR can be reduced in plants that don’t produce salicylic acid naturally, but by applying aspirin the process speeds up. Aspirin is an activator of Induced Systemic Resistance so it will help the plant make those changes. Aspirin can also help tears and rips in plants. If some of the leaves or stem of the plant is ripped you can apply a thin layer of aspirin. The aspirin with speed up the ISR process and regrow it faster than normal.
The medicine is extremely effective at killing off blight, a devastating fungal disease that can harm your plants and kill them within a week. There are two forms of the disease. There is fusarium and verticillium, they show up commonly after wet summer days. They kill quickly with their spores spreading in the wind. But a recent study by the US Department of Agriculture, found that the use of aspirin spray can result in a 47% reduction in this
