Introduction
For a business to improve and meet the expected results it should be well organized. In order to totally outdo rivals in a business there is need to come up with solid competencies and competitive methods in a very superior and tactic fashion which the rival companies will find hard to break through (Gamble and Thompson, 2009). Taking Sony Electronics Company, there should be a good organization pattern in the company so as to achieve high production with encouraging outputs. The main objective of the Sony Company is to express freedom to the employees and assist them in achieving their potential through good work motivation. This is the idea that Sony Company has put in place in order to defeat its competitors like; Panasonic, Microsoft, Samsung and LG. The paper focuses on the methods that Sony Company has put in place for the purpose of getting a good business organization to achieve the expected goals.

In the process of executing a good organization strategy, there is need to have some rules which should be analyzed so as to effectively come up with the expected plan. The first thing is to look behind and examine the previous organization program and identify the loop holes which should be filled with the current chart. The Sony Electronic Company is divided into various product groups namely: video equipment, audio equipment, television, among others. The Foodcorp is a big organization of more than twenty thousand employees. The structure should help the organization achieved established goals and objectives. In order for one to evaluate and identify with the diverse business structures, he/she must be aware of the meaning and standards that makes that structure. Various businesses functions in different ways as the world is full of technology and new structures, company cultures and new ways in which companies are run. In order to fully grasp the concepts of Organizational structure and culture in the movies, I will use the Movie Up in the Air and The Devil Wear Prada movies to analyze a business scenario from them.
According to Hill, Wee and Udayasankar, the success of the company’s strategy can be measured by the value created for shareholders. To maximize the value, managers can increase the profitability by picking a position in the efficiency frontier with supportive internal operations and appropriate organization structure. Organizational structure can be defined as the “formal arrangement of jobs within an organization” (Robbins & Coulter, 2009, p. 185). Having a defined and unified structure helps employees work more efficiently. Jacques Kemp, former CEO of ING Insurance Asia/Pacific, realized this need early on in his role. The company had been performing well and recently acquired another insurance company to become “one of the largest life insurance companies in Asia-Pacific” (Schotter, 2006, p. 4). However, Kemp’s proactive personality led him to seek out ways to achieve more efficient coordination between the regional office and business units (Robbins & Coulter, 2009). Kemp noticed that “most business unit managers did not even know the current corporate standards” and he began searching for a way to manage the managers (Schotter, 2006, p. 5). ING Insurance Asia/Pacific’s organizational structure was mechanistic and fairly well structured, but for a company that had recently been involved in a major acquisition and was divided across 12 geographically dispersed markets there was a great need to tweak this structure to unify the company (Schotter, 2006). If I had been in Kemp’s position as CEO, I would have made modifications to the organizational chain of command, formalized business processes, and used technology to stimulate collaboration amongst the region to help this company overcome organizational design challenges.

This report will give us a clear perspective as to what the optimal organizational structure that suits Rendell Company plus some additional control system in attaining the company’s main objectives. We will be also tackling the roles, functions and responsibilities of a controller in an organization. This case takes us into Rendell Company which is currently having problems between the corporate controller and the divisional controller. We assessed the advantages and disadvantages of the organization structure of Martex whether it can be applied and be implemented to Rendell Company in order to resolve the problem. Through the frameworks and issues, we concluded that while current setup would cause some budgetary discrepancies because of the lack of loyalty between the divisional controllers to the corporate controller, changing the organization structure of Martex would cause a disparity between the division manager and the divisional controller thus resulting in an anxiety in their working environment which is too costly as compared to maintaining the current setup.
