In order for one to evaluate and identify with the diverse business structures, he/she must be aware of the meaning and standards that makes that structure. Various businesses functions in different ways as the world is full of technology and new structures, company cultures and new ways in which companies are run. In order to fully grasp the concepts of Organizational structure and culture in the movies, I will use the Movie Up in the Air and The Devil Wear Prada movies to analyze a business scenario from them. Movies regularly illustrate a glimpse into the inner working of an organization. They analyze how the characters as individuals and groups interact with each other, how they think and feel about each other in an organization. The Devil Wears Prada is a 2006 comedy drama film by David Frankel that gives the viewers a picture of how it looks like when one works in the fashion world. It focuses on the fashion world and it is a social and cultural expose movie. In the movie, Miranda is a cultural intermediary who selects countless fashion items to determine which ones will make it in the market. The first company here is The Devil Wears Prada which portrays a typical example of a company known as Runaway which deals with fashions and designs. The movie is set in a Runaway fashion magazine in New York. The company in this movie functions through a support staff which practices selective decentralization. The story is about Andrea referred to as Andy an aspiring journalist who was hired as a second assistant to Miranda Priestly who was the powerful and ruthless executive of the magazine. The company is headed by Miranda and there is a large distance power between the employer and the workers. On the other hand, in the movie the Devil Wear Prada, there is departmental power as everyone takes control of what is to be done in their departments. Miranda exercises her power as a boss to make her employees work for the profitability of the organization and the same applies to Andrea her assistant and to the rest of the employees.
