Recommended: Importance of Art Education

Personal statement I have always had a great interest in Art, this is why I contribute in many art related workshops and trips such as opening days, life drawing classes, sketchbook workshops, museum trips and exhibitions etc to enhance my knowledge thus improving my skills to be able to develop more captivating art work. I have always shown how passionate I am during Art classes and during my free time, I am a very hard working student that always pay 100% effort in all my work and would do anything to reach the deadline on time, even if it means devoting all my time to it. I am an enthusiastic, ambitious and a determined individual who sets targets to challenge myself, to make sure I use my full potential in creativity to experiment and explore many new different ideas, making each work the best that it could be. There is no such a thing as a finished work, there are always space for furtherance and changes so I never hesitate in bettering my work. To keep a record of my progression in art, I created an Instagram account so I could see the improvements through the change of time. I feel like this was a great idea as it shows the differences I have developed through the gain of new experiences and how I am advancing my skills. Throughout the years in High School, I have been a risk taker and faced some new challenges such as being a dance captain for one of the most well known dance and drama competition; Rock challenge. Being a dance captain has definitely allowed me to develop my confidence, communication skills and team working skills in teaching and performing in front of a large audience, which is truly important as it benefits in working with a wide variety of people. I also take part in volunteering work with dance companies, enhancing my team leading skills and cooperation skills thus a bonding relationship with people. In my free time, I love to dance, play the piano, drawing

    My home growing up was filled with creative people. My dad has always been immensely talented. He was good at nearly every artistic endeavor he pursued. He sat me down when I was about 3 or 4 and taught me to braid on my little pony dolls. Not just any braids but fish bone, french, and various other styles. He could make wall size rugs from knots and braids. I have seen clay sculptures he made that seem like they would take years of training to accomplish. Music always surrounded him, he must be the only grandfather who will listen to any music. You would never hear him say that music now a days is crap compared to what it used to be. He has made simple bracelets to large steel buildings. His schematics of what he is going to build are always so precise and intriguing. He drew a pencil schematic of a boat seat for his boat he wanted to make that I wanted to frame and hang on my wall. He used fabric paint to make my brothers and me shirts when we were little, I wish I still had one to show you. The list goes on and on. Draw, paint, sculpt, construct, botany there is nothing that I have seen him attempt that he didn't do well. The sad part is no one will ever know outside his family, including himself, that these talents are in him. He has always been depressed.
