Just because schools fail doesn’t mean teachers should lose their jobs. Teachers should be able to get paid, even if their school is not directly productive at the moment. They did not pay for education that they could not use, especially if they just got fired from a job because the school couldn’t support them. Teachers need to get paid, even if their school is out of order at that time. It is simple enough to say that it is not fair if teachers lose their job when their school is not fully and completely functional.
Teachers need to obtain money even if they do not have jobs. It is not fair if the schools of America shut down for a lengthy period of time and all of the teachers stop getting paid. Teachers have the obligation to gain money
In my experience, the majority of my teachers were dedicated and caring people to their work. I previously thought that maybe I had gotten lucky with my instructors in which classes I participated in, or maybe I am a more open minded person than those who criticized our educators. Now I see that teachers are scapegoats for other complications outside of their control. Even if some are no longer of a higher caliber, a reason for the decline could be disheartening caused by their limited resources and general disrespect year after year. The government may not be willing to reverse past changes, but now the system whose purpose is to prepare the children of today to become the adults of tomorrow is being annexed by business behemoths striving for ever greater profits to fill their
College is thought of as what every parent wants for their child, so they can go off andmake something of themselves. For the most part, this is true. Those who attend college arebetter off than those who do not, on average, earning far more than their undereducatedcounterparts. College is a worthwhile investment and should be pursued by all who have thechance because it helps students further their knowledge, it is a place to find who you are, and itgives them a different perspective of the world.College is worth the cost because if college was available for everybody and collegedegrees were handed out as commonly and at the same rate as high school diplomas then collegewould not be that special. Therefore, college would just be an extension of high school. Ifanyone could get their hands on a degree, how would you be able to get the job you want? It isbetter for college to cost money because if a student really wants to attend college and furthertheir education, they should have already been willing to pay or to find a way to pay for collegeto get the upper hand on the general
The programs, classes and work days being cut in the k-12 school budget are greatly impacting our children's opportunities and educational potential in our children, having negative effects on their learning and growth potential. We as a nation see it everyday, your favorite teacher having to leave, your child crying because they can no longer take art because it is no longer offered at their school, or your child happy from not having class because of a furlough day (which they do not seem to realize is not a good thing).
How does the rising cost of college tuition affect us? Every year thousands of students attend a college or university, usually of their choice, with the goal of achieving a higher education and to better their future. The cost of attending college is too high and it needs to go down; there needs to be more scholarship and grant opportunities. The high cost of attending college is a major reason that students aren’t able to achieve higher education; others take this as a challenge and it is motivation for them to work harder to achieve their goal. One might ask why would someone want to spend money to receive more education and miss out on more years of work that they could’ve performed? For many, it is so they can receive more salary for the jobs that they will have later in life, also so that they can get training for their wanted career. The cost of attending college is high and continues to rise without indications of decreasing. The rising cost has many benefits such as earning more pay, but it also has its disadvantages such as the debt that is accumulated from student loans. Not everyone can afford to drop down thousands of dollars and attend school for a few more years. Students who wish to receive a post-secondary education must decide whether it is the right choice for them depending on their financial standpoint, meaning that they must decide if they have the resources to further their education.
How, as a society, do we improve the level of education of our children? Yesenia Robles, of The Denver Post, penned an article on August 23rd, 2015, in which she suggested that teachers were underpaid, causing them to leave their school district where they were employed. One Colorado school district lost as much as 26% of their teacher staff, which was attributed to low wages (Robles). Will paying teachers more improve the level of education our children receive? Is throwing more money at the issue the answer? If we are going to compete and win on the International stage, American students must be successful, but is school funding and teacher’s salary really the cause of the
One thing that I noticed in today’s society is that most people don’t go out and say I want to be a teacher when I get older. Most people go out a look for jobs that can help them have a secure future with a high pay such as being a doctor or a lawyer. This makes teaching a very undesirable job with in turn makes teaching harder for those who actually want to do it because they have to do more work since there isn’t enough people. (Washington Post) After looking at this picture you can see just how different the pay is between the two professions. There are a lot of things that lawyers and doctors don’t have to deal with that teachers do. Teachers also have to deal with a lot of after school time that they don’t
Teachers are put in situations that are not fair to them. Parents have become less involved in their children’s educations; they sadly expect schools and teachers to do their job. It is not the schools or the teacher’s jobs to raise the children; it is their job
How many people have a connection with education? Almost everyone in the United States receives an education. School is one of the most influential places in the world. Students learn numerous lessons about life while attending a school. Students generate acquaintances and new memories that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Why would the government stop funding one of the most needed places on earth? Education can lead people to new experiences. Without the funding from the government, schools cannot operate the way they are supposed to.The necessities the students need to achieve their goals such as, sports and teachers are taken away due to the lack of funding. Without proper funding of education, the youth of today will be hard pressed to find success.
For many people in the United States, life is no more than a regular work cycle. Members of working class usually have a High School diploma and may work in a low skilled occupation or manual labor. Most of the enjoying age of this people is spent in working, as they don’t want their new once to have a life they struggling through. Therefore, this essay will argue that minimum wage should be increased federally to $15/hour by 2017. Firstly, if taxes touches the sky, why should the minimum wage be on the ground? Increasing minimum wages would also create new opportunities for education as the students wouldn’t have to work crazy hours. Likewise, many couples won’t have to work multiple jobs in order to manage the household. Lastly, it will lift
The debate if college student athletes should be paid have been going on for quite a while now. These arguments become even louder when the student-athlete gets hurt, since an amount of consideration is supposed to be provided for their injuries. According to the book, The Advanced Reading-Writing Connection, written by John Langan, states that “it is evident that many athletes are paid beyond what their scholarships offer.” In addition, a question to also consider is whether a student who is in a demanding endeavor to becoming an academic success can also serve another very demanding role posed by the business. Business in this case, being the keeping up of performance in order to receive pay. Universities also profit from this, and they are much more likely to protect their gain. Although, will this be the best interest of the student or it is to allow the university to get more money. As a result, the college sports recruitment is mainly not educational but entirely financial.
Our education system today is absolutely horrible. There are many factors that contribute into the fact that our education system is a failing disaster. A tenure gives teachers a permanent contract that guarantees their employment and protects them from being fired “just cause”. Teachers should not get tenure. Our education system deserves teachers that know how to teach well and are there for the students. Before we dive into all the aspects of why teachers shouldn’t get tenure, we must understand what teacher tenure is.
Michael Fascitelli of Vornado Realty, which owns 100 million square feet of office space in New York. He made $64.4 million in 2013. Alex rodriguez made $21,726,881 in 2004. These statistics make it look like athletes should be paid more not less. Athletes are paid fairly because they work hard all year round and have to retire early.
The Alliance for Excellent Education group reported that half a million teachers leave the profession with the first five years (Seidel, 2014). This ends up costing $2.2 billion a year for school districts (Seidel, 2014). This money is spent on going through the hiring process all over again, and training the teachers (Seidel, 2014). Teachers leaving their profession not only affects the school districts but also affects the students. If the teachers are treated poorly, then they most likely will not have any motivation to teach the students in the best way they know how. The students will suffer because they are not learning the material correctly. This will result in the students not even being ready to move up to the next grade level because they lack the knowledge they need to carry with them. This is not fair to the students because it is not their fault that their teachers decided to leave. Teachers report many different reasons for leaving their profession. These include their salary, co-workers, students, administrators, and many other reasons (Seidel, 2014). I think some of the reason result from just not realizing or being shown the wrong sides to teaching. The teachers that tend to leave are the ones with the least experience in the profession. This tells me that they did not know what they were getting into. Statistics show that forty percent to fifty percent of teachers leave within their first five years of
I have had many teachers throughout my life. All have been amazing, but then who doesn’t like awesome teachers? With awesome teachers comes good education and who like good education? Then again teachers are paid very little for what they do. Bonuses can increase educational activities. The extra cash can be used to buy more technology, including chromebooks, iPads, and more. Teachers become teachers to teach not to gain money. If teachers can get bonuses for teaching well what limits are there for the future?
Music has been a part of society for decades and is constantly evolving. There are so many different types of music in this day and time that it is hard to choose one genre to listen to. People love to listen to music and people should not have to pay to download music from the internet. There are three specific reasons why people should not have to pay. Artists make billions of dollars every day and just because a person downloads a song for free does not mean that the artists will suddenly go bankrupt. Music is simply too expensive. The music will stay relevant if people do not have to pay to download songs. No artists can really claim a song as an “original” so they are getting paid for something that is not even really theirs.
