Okay, so this is kind of annoying me ... Since the release of Pokemon Go, I have come across article after article of “social justice warriors”, I.E. 'people who can't think of anything better to do with their time except cause trouble” complain about the 'dangers' of Pokemon Go. “Paedophiles use lures to literally lure children!” “People are swarming major roadways to catch non-existent monsters!” “People are using lures to rob people!” The list really does go on. As one article so accurately mentioned; 'a bazillion users' play Pokemon Go since its release. Yes, people are staring at their phones and not paying attention to where they are going. Yes, that's kind of stupid. Yes, I learnt my lesson from tripping on a branch in a dark park. …show more content…

Children are getting up from in front of their T. V's and getting outside. Families are spending time with each other, walking around and discovering their neighbourhood. People are making new friends with common interests. And although the means are a little different, they are doing it in a way that most of the people who are complaining about the game did when they were children. Out in the street, before the street lights go on. Yes, the world has changed, and not necessarily for the better. However, how does keeping people from going out, getting healthy and having fun doing it really affects your life in any way? How does the group of kids at the train station taking on the Pokemon Gym affect the way you live your life? What I wouldn't have given to have something like this when I was a teenager and it seemed like I was perpetually bored. What I wouldn't have done to have something like this as a kid to get me out of the house a bit more. Now I have it as an adult, and I will damn well use it. And so will the 'bazillion'
