The republican candidate is very much pro-military and supports crushing ISIS fast and hard. Likewise, he completely opposed the Iran nuclear weapons deal and the War in Iraq in 2003 because of improperly used military force. People from all social classes alike can attest to how refreshing it is for a politician to be honest for once. No, he isn 't certainly isn 't always appropriate with his comments; as many of his remarks have been interpreted as insensitive to groups of people. He holds multiple offices at the Trump Organization, and is also a chairman of Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, Incorporated (Project Vote Smart). Donald Trump has put his name on products and companies both successful and unsuccessful, including food products, corporations, and a clothing line. Trump once stated that “The stuff that’s been sent over from China falls apart after a year and a half. It’s crap.” Ironically, the majority of his products are manufactured in China (Webley, 8). How can we expect a man to keep in touch with an entire country when he can hardly keep in touch with his own business? Politics is one of the most debated topics in the country today. With the wide variety of values present in America, it is bound to be a difficult topic to discuss. I’ve grown up in a family of democrats with religiously republican grandparents. Considering myself an Independent leaning democratic, I can usually calmly talk politics with my family. This year’s election has made any conversation surrounding politics toxic to my family and creates a large argument of one side or the other and no in between.
