Argumentative Essay On Climate Change

The subject of global warming, or climate change, is a very controversial one among Republicans and Democrats. Democrats tend to think that climate change is mainly caused by humans while Republicans favor the prospect that it is merely nature taking its course. To begin, what is global warming? Global warming the slow but steady overall increase of the Earth’s temperature.
This is typically due to the greenhouse effect, which is the increase in levels of certain gases such as carbon, methane, nitrous oxide, and hydrofluorocarbon.
These gases absorb some of
Earth’s radiation and heat that typically filter through the atmosphere during the daytime and refrain them from returning back to space during the nighttime. The entrapment of the Sun’s …show more content…

Though this does not initially sound that dangerous, this rise in temperature could cause a number of problems. Some of the consequences that have resulted from global warming occuring in the present include more frequent and severe weather, higher death rates, dirtier air, more acidic oceans, and higher sea levels. Another side effect of global warming is higher wildlife extinction rates; for example, due to climate change, sea ice is melting near the Poles. So, polar bears have less access to sea lions - their primary source of food - and will have to rely on berries and nuts, which do not satisfy their 12,000+ calorie diet. Therefore, there is a high chance in the next 30-40 years that polar bears will die out due to starvation.
For a while now, people have been noticing the enhancement of the greenhouse effect, and both sides of the political spectrum have something to say about it. Democrats look at the greenhouse effect from the scientific and logical point of view; the overproduction and emission of these gases have occurred due to human activity. Examples of this include the pollution that comes from the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, the usage of fertilizers, and the production of more chemicals. Only a 35%
