Cats are cute and lovable but…dogs are often called “mans best friend” and make way better pets. They also have more size options to choose from, a social hierarchy, and a more suitable ability to save people, cats and dogs. Dogs love to be around their owners, cats could care less. For example, my dog Cairo, who loves the outdoors, was once left outside on purpose. I wanted to see how he would react to being left alone. Would he run off? Would he lay down on the porch and wait for me to open it? Well, it wasn’t even a minute before I heard scratches and whining at the door. When I opened it, his tail was wagging and he was excited to see me. On the other hand, my friend’s cat, Oreo also loves to be outside, the difference is, he runs …show more content…
Like the wolf pack, each individual in the pack has its own place in that social order. Without a leader and parameters, a dog pack is confused, unstable and in constant conflict.” This shows a dog’s willingness to please their owner. Cats are solitary. “Solitary animals are those that spend a majority of their lives without others of their species, with possible exceptions for mating and raising their young. Animals that are solitary are often territorial and do not like the company of another in their territory.” Dogs like to be with their owners. Cats sit around sleeping 16 hours of the day, than they wake up and meow for food than go back to sleep. Kittens do pretty much the same thing but you might be able to get them to bat at a cat toy if their in a good mood. Its impossible to take cats on walks without getting your arms scratched up terribly. With dogs, you get up, they get up, you want to play, they want to play, you sleep, they sleep. Dogs live in a pack, with dogs you become the dogs pack. They want to be accepted and loved while cats feel like they need to prove that they don't need you to survive. It’s sort of like saying “you need me but I don't need you.” If a dog lost it’s owner he would be moody for awhile. Cats wouldn't mourn. There is a story about a dog who's owner had a heart attack and passed away. That dog stayed right by his side until the man was taken away. The dog would not …show more content…
Ginny who is a small Siberian husky schnauzer mix is an example of a big hero living inside a tiny body and she is a dog who has rescued over 300 cats from danger. “Is Ginny a traitor to canine's everywhere, or an undisputed hero? The 300 cats who attended her memorial service would probably say the latter, paying homage to a dog who endangered herself on multiple occasions to save dying or stranded cats from peril. On one particularly remarkable occasion, Ginny threw herself against a vertical pipe at a construction site so that it would topple and the stranded cats inside could escape.” Ginny also saved an injured cat from a box of broken glass. Would a cat do this for a dog, not to mention multiple dogs? I don't think so. Which is more equipped to save? Dogs! They are bigger, stronger and have better sense of smell and direction all qualities that prove dogs are better than cats.
Dogs have a strong desire to save the people it feels safe with. They want to prove that they are strong enough to survive in the pack and that the pack can trust that certain dog. Also, size can be helpful, even tiny dogs have a purpose they have been known to calm larger dogs Dogs are a true “man’s best
Are these dogs misunderstood? In reality a dog is a reflection of its human, they see you as a pack leader they are who you raise them to be no matter the breed. If you neglect your puppy by chaining them up outside their whole life or keep them in
But like an exception to every stereotype, my experience with a human –animal relationship is also an exception. When I was twelve, I received a pair of kittens as my birthday gift. I was never an animal lover so I wasn’t too excited to receive it. But as the days went by, spending time with them developed a soft corner for them. Unlike dogs, with cats it’s more of a give and take relationship. You have to spend time with them and show them you care for them to be able to reciprocate the same care and concern for you. The more time I spent with them, the more founder and inseparable I grew of them.
Cats can be very lazy but dogs are not very lazy. Dogs can be fun and active while cats just like to sleep most of the time . Dogs are very smart and cats aren’t super smart dogs can find there way back home cats don’t really remember where they live by heart.Cats aren't that helpful dogs are helpful because when people can't do something or have a disability dogs will help those people.
...lity to face adversity for those they love. Animals have found their ways into the hearts of humanity and have settled in very deep. I had a pet that very recently passed away of whom lived with us for 17 years. There were countless time she had gotten out and I searched for hours in order to be reunited. Now that shes gone, I have lost my buddy that I would spend the mornings with. Mona was never our dog, she was our family. Pets are far more than just something people own, pets are members of the family.
Do you know that if you buy a pet from a pet store, there will be some animals die in the shelters? Do you also know that every year there are thousands of sheltered animals are euthanized—mercy killing— because there is no space for them? Many people buy pets rather than adopt from shelters because they think they are healthy, purebred and well-behaved. But actually the sheltered animals may be healthier, happier and much cheaper. In the recent years, more and more people decide to adopt animals since there are numerous advantages such as changing a homeless animal’s whole life, reducing illegal trade and puppy farms and benefiting from long- term advice and support.
A growing number of studies have attempted to support the theory that cats and dogs differ in their personality attributes. Several common factors have emerged across these studies, such as difference among social behaviours. Higher levels of dominance and hostility have been reported among domestic cats (as cited in Fonberg, 1985). Not surprisingly, domesticated dogs are higher in submissive behaviours (as cited in Marder, 1989). Woodward et al. also reflect upon previously held theories of companion animal attachment that suggest attachment is mediated by the needs of the owner and the characteristics of their pet.
...ference between humans and dogs is that once a human gets over something traumatic, the dog will not leave. A dog is not going to run away only to be seen when the next tragedy strikes. A dog is one of the most loyal and loving creatures on the planet and will be available before and after tragedy strikes.
Dogs are extremely lovable and the only thing in life that they want is to be loved by their owners. With dogs, everything in life revolves around love and affection. The only thing that is on a cats mind is food and what they
When you talk to pet owners about owning a cat versus a dog, it stirs up much controver-sy in many ways. By looking at both cats and dogs, the cat outweighs the dog in many ways, which makes the cat the superior selection when making a final decision on which one to get. Cats have very desirable qualities that make them an award winning choice to many owners. The qualities that appeal to most are the ability of the cat to live in small spaces, they do not eat large amounts of food for their meals, and they are very sedentary and independent in nature making them a low maintenance pet. One additional desired feature is cats are well suited for owners that have a very busy lifestyle and minimal time to give to their pet. This added feature
... and faithfulness that cannot be found from any other source. Even the most hardened of hearts can be touched by a cold wet nose or a comforting snuggle. Pets seem to be able to recognize and adapt to many of the conditions placed on them in our human environment. They can provide the sense of companionship, and love that is lacking in regular human relationships.
Pets are all over the world, and a part of many people's everyday lives. After seeing my grandmas dog close to death about a week ago, it reminded me of how impacted I was when I lost a pet in the past. That’s when I realized that pets leave a very impactful mark on other people's lives. Then, I remembered not everyone has had pets in their lives due to various reasons like allergies and seeing them as dangerous. This led me to my research question; Should kids have pets in their lives? Weighing the options, I can see both sides to the question at hand. I was a child who grew up with pets by my side, but I also had been greatly harmed by one. When I was just a preschooler, I was critically bit by my own dog in the face, just inches away from a fatal vein in my neck. I still have the scar to this day, yet I still surround myself with animals everyday.
Dogs and cats are the most popular pets in the whole world. Even though they’re both very popular, they are different in many ways. Some people gravitate towards the calmness of a cat, while others seek the companionship of a dog. Cats are a lot more independent and less expensive. Cats don’t require nor do they want to be trained to be a house pet. Dogs on the other hand are very loyal and will act as your best friend. Dogs require more attention and training to be a well behaved family member. The main differences between dogs and cats are their personalities, habits, and training, which all determine what pet to choose.
A dogs behavior is significantly more desirable than a cats. A dog is loving and friendly most of the time and enjoys a good belly rub as a reward. If you try and scratch a cats belly, the cat will try to scratch and bite you. A dog is incomparably easier to train than a cat. You can teach a dog to do anything from bringing you your newspaper to the simplest command, sit. As a result of being able to train a dog, a dog goes to the bathroom outside, leaving no stench behind in your house. Whereas, a cat uses a litter box to go to the bathroom, there is always a stench in your house. Dogs are also far better with children. Dogs form a far greater bond with newborn babies, and often times do not leave the child’s crib side. Also, a trained dog will not cause destruction to your house, while you cannot train a cat to not use their sharp little claws to tear at the side of your couches, and rip and shred all the way down your curtains. Dogs also do not jump places where most cats jump, such as in your lap on your laptop, or on your dinner table at dinner. A dog won’t be a surprise first thing in the morning laying in your bathroom sink either. A dog will lay nex...
Both dogs and cats are good for companionship, because they are both very sweet, loveable. However dogs have a much more need for attention, dogs constantly want to be played with, and sometime aggravate their owner until they get what they want. On the other hand, cats pretty much like to stay to themselves. Some cats may stay away during the day time and only come out at night. Dogs sleep pretty much at night while some cats are up all night.
Two Ways of Viewing Cats and Dogs Cats and dogs share several similarities, but they are very different. These two animals are two of the most popular pets today.
