Wayne Dyer once said “doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life”. Ever since I was a little girl, fashion has always been a very important part of my life. However, while most young girls were busy designing Barbie’s next outfit, I was enthusiastically trying to figure out the best way to market and sell Barbie to my friends. This habit did not end during my childhood years; rather it followed me through high school. I firmly believe that being passionate about your career can add much happiness and depth to your life. By attending FIT I can bring and take away positive ideas and qualities. Throughout my high school career I focused on law. Law was not my passion but with a family full of lawyers it is what I was expected to become. During my junior year, I decided to take the fashion trends elective. This proved to be the best class that I have ever taken, resurrecting my love for fashion and marketing. I discovered qualities and talents in myself that I never knew about. I received a newfound confidence which I carried with me through the rest of the ...

As I became more involved with campus life, I couldn’t find a way to immerse myself in preparing for a career in law. While I knew why I wanted a law degree, I couldn’t conceptualize what I wanted to do with it. Prior to college life, my familiarity with the legal system was by way of internships with judges and lawyers. Clearly, that traditional route perked my interest but not my passion. Living with the athletes affirmed my interest in their culture. I began to immerse myself in subjects surro...
I started CrossFit in 2014, after researching the rehabilitative effects of the sport. I was experiencing uncontrollable bouts of anxiety, night terrors and anger that was negatively impacting my Army career. I went to a nearby CrossFit box and I signed up on the spot. I immediately became addicted to the intensity of the WODs, the extreme high I got from lifting, and the constant encouragement from those around me. I truly felt my life changing for the better! At one point I tore my MCL at work and I remember how badly I couldn’t wait to get back into the box and do work! CrossFit had become my place of Zen, my home, my own crazy little community. Just over a year later, I got my CF-LV1. I want to do for the CrossFit community what it had
Application of career theories to my own life allows for analyzing past and future career decisions. Holland’s Theory of Careers states that one’s vocation is an expression of self, personality, and way of life. There is an indisputable and fundamental difference in the quality of life one experiences if they choose a career one truly enjoys, versus choosing a career one detests. A true testament to the validity of Holland’s theory, my job/career choices reflect my interests, as well as the evolution of my personality (internal self). My first job as a fine jewelry specialist and second job as a make-up artist echo my love of the fashion world. As I matured and became less fascinated by presumed “glamour” careers, I became captivated by physical fitness, nutrition, and medicine; I received my national fitness trainer certificate so that I may become a personal trainer. Nevertheless, my career decisions do not fit uniformly into merely one career theory.
I believe that fitness has a greater impact on you mentally than it does physically. Fitness releases chemicals that cause you to feel better instantaneously, improving mood for 24 hours. Fitness makes you more confident and improves your self-esteem, key for ridding anxiety and depression. Fitness makes you set goals for yourself, motivating you to improve yourself everyday. It gives you a boost of energy after, making you feel like you can conquer the world, or to just do your homework.
Ways people quit smoking are by mental and note form reminders of why they are quitting, rewarding themselves, distraction, using gum or healthy snacks e.g celery and carrots, exercise, drinking cool water and nicotine patches or supplements.

With all the independence and freedom that recent high school graduates possess, they should carefully ponder the possible options that exist. Through abiding by the “check the destination before the ticket is purchased” adage, high school graduates can competently guide their personal journeys in college life or the real world. Regardless of the path chosen, college students and those who immediately enter the workforce will ultimately decide their future destinations. In addition, while graduates pursue their dreams, goals must be set and diligently fostered. The necessity of a college and/or career game plan is crucial, and should not be disregarded. Before Dr. King ended his “I Have a Dream” speech he declared, “Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning.” Similarly, high school graduation is not a finish line, but a starting gun.
Do people ever feel tired and sleepy at school, or at work? Have body aches that worsen with time? Have problems trying to fall sleep at night, feel sad, or depressed? Have any difficulty remembering things, or memorizing important information at school or work? Do people feel socially pressured, or have problems socializing with others? These are very important questions that people need to ask themselves in order to be aware of their well-being, but most importantly, they should ask themselves: are they living a sedentary or active life? Are they having enough physical activity and exercise to live a healthy life? As Plato states: “Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while
