Since my freshman year the same question has been asked,”What are you going to do after high school?”. This question has always given me just a wave of anxiety that does not seem to go away. As the year went on and this question kept rising throughout high school, I have come to the conclusion that elementary education is my calling.
As my senior year grew closer I began taking courses that would help decide on whether or not elementary education was the best fit for me. In deciding on elementary education I decided on taking child care, star tutor, and taking steps to overcome my anxiety.
In Mrs. Lukers child care class I got to experience what it would be like to plan and teach a preschool lesson to the class. It took weeks to plan one lesson

The key was finding a source, what triggers me the most. The best way to prevent it is to have a plan and know what to expect. To be able to conquer my fears I would need to know: how much school would cost, how long it would take, and what the hiring rate for teachers is after graduation.
Tuition at ISU for an instate student is $6,784 USD a year(startclass.com). Tuition per semester for a full time student is $3,583.00(ISU). A full time student would mean you’re going for 12 or more credits. These numbers don’t include the prices of textbooks. A single book can cost as much as $200. The most nerve racking part of it all is the potential debt. If I can cash flow my college I’ll have money for tuition, books, and any other school fees without having to take out loans (DaveRamsey).
After graduation I’ll need four years of schooling to get my bachelors degree. all states require teachers to earn either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university(certififcationmap).Overall employment of kindergarten and elementary school teachers is projected to grow 7 percent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations (bls.gov). By the time I graduate college i should be able to find a job
Everything comes with a price, especially college education. The University of Iowa’s webpage, 2013-2014 Undergraduate Cost of Attendance states that, “these expenses represent average amounts” (3). Most costs vary depending on duration and living plans for the students. For a student living on campus, the estimated total price is around $20,691. Tuition fees, and housing and meals, normally add up to be about $17,485, out of the total. Then there is the books, personal, and transportation fees which end up being $3,206. For many families, that ends up being quite a bit of money. But both schools allow the use of financial aid or even loans to pay for the college education.
From the time a child enters preschool, teachers begin asking a common question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” That dreaded query has always haunted me, mostly because the way it was redundantly asked put a ton of pressure on me and my peers. The question was like a rusty nail being hammered into our head’s by society. I continuously had the cliché answers of becoming a doctor, teacher, or a police officer, but with serious reservations. After years of not having a clue, I started to think about what I like to do after the stresses of work and school were gone at the end of the day.
When we were little, we thought the word “Career” was not a big deal, but as a senior in high school, the word has become our reality as we start to finish our last semester. The question we’ve been asked all these years is, what do you want to be when you grow up? But our answer is simple: we don’t want to grow up. As an innocent kid it seemed like the time would never come, but it has. It’s time to get serious and really ponder this question.
What do you want to do when you grow up? Most children are often asked that question and they
As we begin to grow up and come to the end of our high school career we must start to begin to start thinking about what type of career we want to be in. It is very important that a person picks the right type of career for them. Otherwise you will be unhappy with what you are doing and will not enjoy it at all. I am not entirely sure what I want my career to be but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it.
Elementary School teacher, a professional educator for grades k-5, is a career I wish to pursue because I want to teach children the building blocks of education, love the energy and excitement that younger children give off, and want to be able to help children with special challenges. I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher for about three years now, I knew I wanted to pursue this occupation because there are many benefits to being an educator, and have always worked with children well. Some challenges are I will have to get a bachelor 's degree and have to complete a state licensing exam (“preparation 1”)

Until you are in your senior year of high school that’s when you realize and start asking your self what college do I want to go to? Or what college career I want to pursue? That’s when you notice you have but so little time to answer these questions. Me I’m in my last year of high school and I though I already knew what career I wanted to pursue, but its now that I notice that not even I know what I’m going to do with my life? All I’m sure of its that I’m going to graduate out of high school with a diploma and that I’m going to college. But what happens after that? What major did I study? Or where did I go to accomplish my goal?

I know that after high school I want to attend college. I’m not yet sure of what career I want to pursue as I have many interests. I want to have a job that helps other people, such as a doctor, nurse, teacher, and many other jobs. In addition to wanting to become a psychiatrist, I have an interest in becoming a teacher, I love to be around kids and teach others, but, I would have to teach preschool or kindergarten, where the kids are not taller than me. I also love to draw, paint, color, and do anything artistic.
Butterflies, the perfect word to describe anxiety. Everyone on this planet will experience anxiety once or more times in their life. No one can avoid anxiety, except for those who live life boring. It will take a lot of time and dedication to figure out what one specifically wants to do. It is a lot of pressure knowing that pursuing a career as an educator will put one
What will I do for the rest of my life? Every person asks this question at some stage of their life, usually during their later teenage years. As a high school junior, I am now asking myself this question. After considerable thought, I have devised a tentative plan for my future. I realize that some of these plans and goals may change over time, but with a plan, the first steps of the journey can begin. To prepare me for the journey, I have taken very challenging high school curriculum, such as Honors and Advanced Placement courses. These classes will not only assist in my admission to college, but have also helped me to develop strong study skills and time management.
