Recommended: Analysis of the film carrie

The movie I watched was taken from the Stephen King novel, Carrie. I watched this movie many years ago and remembered thinking this movie was mainly about a girl getting revenge on her classmates for their mistreatment of her, but now I realize that it entails so much more. The movie starts off with Carrie, a senior at her high school, and her female classmates in gym class playing volleyball. Carrie’s team is trying desperately to win, but the other team realizes that Carrie is the weak link on her team. The opposing team then decided to hit the ball to Carrie. Just as they thought, she misses it, causing her team to lose the game. Her teammates then tease her and put her down for her lack of athletic skills. With her tall and slinky …show more content…

All the girls have exited the shower and are getting dressed. The camera then shifts to Carrie showering. All of a sudden her menstrual comes and Carrie panics at the sight of her own blood. She then runs out to the girls for help, but they started laughing and teasing her. Luckily the gym teacher, Ms Collins, came in, comforted her and explained what had just happened with her body. This brings into play Carrie's mother, Mrs White, who is what some may say, is a religious fanatic. She has Carrie believing that most things in the world are evil. Carrie’s mother has Carrie believing that her period came because of some kind of sin. Throughout the movie Mrs. White continuously locks Carrie in their closet to pray away her sins. It was prom night and Carrie looked stunning as her and Tommy arrived at the school. Tommy seemed like he was actually enjoying himself. They kissed, laughed, danced and enjoyed the night away until the plan unfolded. Kris and her friends switched the ballots and had Carrie and Tommy win Prom King & Queen. As they stood on the stage for their crowns, the bucket full of pig's blood, was dropped onto Carrie. At first she just stood there in shock recalling all the things her mom said would have happened if she went, then her telekinesis powers came into play.
