Accelerated Reader an educational software program, that can improve literary by “challenge students to be perspective reader” which can stimulate comprehension (Henry et al) 352). The Accelerated Reader is a software program which helps a teacher track, and will improve their student’s reading comprehension skills. The Accelerated Reader is a computer program that makes multiple choice tests, which a student use’s after they have completed reading a book. From experience the AR reading system, is a great tool for all teachers. The AR test will give a comprehension score of the material in the selected book, and be tested on their new knowledge. Flipped classroom are a new teaching style that many educators are advocating for the use of this non- traditional teaching style. Things You Should Know about Flipped Classrooms, published in 2012, make’s the clear argument of why flipped classrooms can work. “The value of a flipped class is in the repurposing of class time into a workshop where students can inquire about lecture content, test their skills in applying knowledge, and interact with one another in hands-on activities”(1). Through utilizing the internet and completely re-writing the traditional school day entirely. Homework would be completely prerecorded lectures, accessed by the internet, and class time would be devoted to applying the knowledge they learned the night before. Every teacher will have to make dissections based on their students, age, learning styles, and ability levels; and teachers will need to invest time in preparing technology inclusion in their classrooms. Smartphone’s, are the middle to high school level teachers biggest threat; meaning social media, cheating opportunities, and communication opportunities. The solution to Smartphone usage in the classroom can vary, for example, having a “cell phone box” where students are required to place their cell phones in a designated area, as soon as they enter a classroom. Another effective method, to the Smartphone issue for teacher, is educating parents on parental controls they can enact on their children’s phone that can disable usage of social media sties, and text messaging during school
